Honestly, I am disappointed that Peridot never went full circle and got her limb enhancers back. I get that she needed to escape her shell and find her own strength among the natives, but she shouldn't have stopped being a stone cold certified Kindergarten Graduate just because she learned to mini magneto a few cans.

As for Lapis, I think there was/is plenty of room to explore the "do you even know who I was" and Blue Diamond calling her by name aspect of her character/implied importance, but I think the actual arc they took her on has been pretty good so far.

Personally, I think it's more likely that they gave up on them because they didn't fit into Rebecca's plan from day 1 and she thought she'd figure out what she'd do with them when she got there, but she never did. It's kind of the inverse problem that your Andrew Hussie "make it up as you go along and OH SHIT I DON'T WANT TO DO THIS ANYMORE WHERE THE FUCK IS THE ENDING"s of the world have. I can't say it's the worse of the two evils, but either way, she definitely abandoned them.

Peridot didn't fit in with the direction the show was going. Her limb enhancers and spaceship showed a homeworld that had become technologically advanced which results in "old ways" being forgotten and gems becoming bad, but in the show itself when the diamonds become important the technological advancement falls to the wayside because for some reason white diamond shoots lightening instead of using a giant gun to pistol whip people.

It's like the original theme was supposed to be "diamonds wuz good once, but over time became corrupted and rose defended earth because earth reminded her of homeworld before it was corrupted" but then they chose to discard that entirely.

They're always naked, user. Their clothing is an affectation, made of the same hard light that comprises the rest of their being. They don't WEAR clothes; they ARE clothes.

Lapis and Peridot: useless memes, were flanderized and did absolutely nothing important after getting barned, one is annoying comic relief and the other is stagnant and boring, neither are relevant to Pink Diamond or the overarching plot and have little involvement in the war, only worshipped by Zuke and other deluded shippingfags with low standards

Pearl and Jasper: best gems, best arcs, remain unmemed and unbarned, the most complicated protagonist and antagonist respectively, Pearl episodes unironically kept the show alive and upcoming Jasper episodes will unironically redeem all the wasted potential from the last season, loved by Rebecca Sugar and appreciated by patricians
