How much longer are we going have to what till Nova gets a comic again?
How much longer are we going have to what till Nova gets a comic again?
He's a very boring character. He has no notable superpowers except opening a gate.
Probably for a long time since vol. 7 didn't do good and Rich isn't anyone's pet character so he doesn't get the constsnt relaunches or extra boost.
Man you fags really stopped trying, pretty low effort.
Then please tell me what else does he do besides fly around, punch, and shoot generic energy beams like every other boring Marvel character.
Most likely he'll be waiting until he makes an appearance in the MCU.
His powers are Gravimetric based. Meaning he can also levitate things and create shields
I do hope it gets made. The MCU already has the Nova corps. They just need to take the next step
Pretty sure the only chance of nova getting a comic is if he’s getting a movie.
His legs look like a laser beam when he flies. That’s pretty neat.
I think they're just going to leave the MCU Novas as those guys Thanos took the Power Stone from for the foreseeable future
Never, meanwhile Captain Marvel will always have a relaunch... for synergy and copyright reasons
Visually he is similar to Carol so never
gravity manipulation, force fields, speedester, and has some resistance to psychics, try harder.
Carol is the new Dick Rider.
She's always been a dick rider and a carper muncher.
Why is she so selfish?
Adam Mckay who was in talks to direct vol. 3 said he was pretty convinced they were going to use Nova but said he couldn't say why. But he's a huge Richfag so he's biased.
It's sad. Novas was a really great book that could have gone places. I don't understand why it didn't work.
can't wait for them to ruin it
Allow me to repeat the OP
>How much longer are we going have to wait till Nova gets a COMIC again?
Go back to Yea Forums MCU-shitters
Lack of interest since he's not a popular character, lack of advertisement (especially since people didn't even know the character was back), Mcgloin and his two ass kissers constantly bitched about it, among other things.
On the bright side people are still reading it and they love it and I also have noticed more interest for Rich and Sam so that's a good thing.
After years of failed efforts and a lack of popularity, it's obvious to anyone that Marvel isn't giving Rich his own book any time soon.
The only way he'd get one is if he got an MCU appearance, which Marvel Entertainment would try to capitalize on. As it stands, all he gets is guest appearances once in a blue moon.
>After years of failed efforts and a lack of popularity
There are a bunch of characters who this applies to that still get the spotlight. Not to mention his comic under DnA did decently for being a comic with a c-lister (I don't think it ever dipped below 21,000) as a matter in fact so did DnA's GotG and Abnett confirmed that they weren't cancelled because of low sales, they were cancelled because they wanted Bendis for GotG.
>The only way he'd get one is if he got an MCU appearance, which Marvel Entertainment would try to capitalize on
That's true but I fear if that were to happen they'll just fuck up the character in a similar way they fucked up Star-Lord for a long ass time. One of the things I liked about Rich beiong a c-lister was that he's allowed to grow and you can see from his first comic up until Thanos Imperative that he does go through a lot of changes.
I do want more stories with him but Monkey's paw I guess...
Sam had 2 badly selling solo titles and a few failed team books before they thought to team him up with Rich for a 3rd title that tanked. Three books in 4 years is more than most other characters get. Carol is the only one I can think of who gets more chances than that. I understand why they're not making anymore Nova books, but I think they're reasons are shitty and misguided
I'd like more stories with him from Landy. The guy only used Rich for a few pages, but was easily the best writer the character got in a very long time
Forever, due entirely to that one pedophile obsessed with him. You know the one.
Gunn doesn't care about Nova
Last one sold like shit and they'll probably want to keep Sam as the main Nova and we can expect him to get his powers back next issue.
At least Rich is getting a lot of uses in various comics so he's not forgotten.
>I'd like more stories with him from Landy.
Hopefully he does more stuff for Marvel I really liked his Black order.
He's shunned by every other Nova fan, the problem is that he's pretty fucking loud and people keep paying attention to him and retards use him as a credible source or they give him credit for shit he dind't even come up with (like the MARVEL IS FINISHED rumors were from Jude Terror but people kept attributing them to him).
>They'll probably want to keep Sam as the main Nova and we can expect him to get his powers back next issue.
Judging from what Zub did with Rir and Amadeus and how he tried making them mor eunique, it looks more like he'll give Sam a new look and possibly a name change or at least call him Supernova or something.
>we can expect him to get his powers back next issue.
Zub said we would know what he was going to do with Sam by April so I doubt it.
Riri and Cho needed new names since their predecessors came back. Nova is just like Green Lantern in that there can be more than one with the name since it's more of a title. I won't be surprised if Sam does get a new identity but his situation is a bit different.
Zub said issue 4 was going to reveal what will happen with Sam.
>Nova is just like Green Lantern in that there can be more than one with the name since it's more of a title
Pretty much everyone agrees Nova works better with just one around. Sure, it's not unreasonable for it in-universe, but fans of the character want there to only be one.
Ideally it'd be Sam and Rich together in a mentor and student buddy cop situation like the last comic and that... didn't work out.
I think Rich should have a chance to revitalize interest in Nova with readers on his own before throwing Sam into the mix with him again.
>(like the MARVEL IS FINISHED rumors were from Jude Terror but people kept attributing them to him).
That's because he came here and shilled his site with that story every day for a week.
It DID work out. It just didn't sell.
Oh shit April is next issue, my bad. Still it might just be the start of an arc more than Sam instantly getting his powers back. At least I hope since Zub said he was going to touch on his dad's whereabouts and hinted on Rich maybe being involved. Also the Miles/Kamala confrontation is next issue so if everything is resolved by then it's going to be pretty sloppy.
It worked out well but it didn't sell and a bunch of people only discovered that comic when it was too late, see and this wasn't the only instance of me seeing someone beamoan the fact that they missed on this comic. Hell a few months ago when Duggan was still in GotG I still saw Richfags being surprised that he was back.
They work better as buddy cop than mentor/student. Hell the reason why their relationship was so great was because Rich really wasn't trying to mentor Sam as much as he was just giving him advice and being a big brother to him. So in a way he is a guiding figure but also in a position were he is not an authority figure and Sam can relate to him and both mess around.
I know and a lot of people weren't smart enough to archive his article and check the source and I am not talking about just Yea Forums some people on twitter were attributing it to him as well.
I still feel like Zub should have gotten a start on Sam's return arc sooner than now. Sow the seeds over time, y'know? Don't spend three issues opening each issue with "This is Sam and he's angsty."
>Miles/Kamala
REEEEEEEEEEE
I'm still miffed that they kept America in print longer than Nova despite the former selling far worse.
>I'm still miffed that they kept America in print longer than Nova despite the former selling far worse.
America wasn't on its third book in 4 years
No, but the sales were still tanking:
Nova:

Yeesh. It took falling to under half of Nova's cancellation numbers to put America to rest.
Pic related; it's the variant cover that probably led to the boost in sales for America #8.
Reminder that Loveness knew they were getting cancelled around the time issue 4 came out yet that shitty America comic managed to make it to issue 12.
Not only that Nova was going to be cancelled with issue 5 (menaing it was going to end with Rich going back to the Cancerverse) but Perez and Loveness had to convinced the editors to let them conclude the comic.
Also Nova got less advertisement than America.
Any major rises in sales during that time I just consider Marvel cheating the system to boost numbers.
I honestly wouldn't have minded it being a miniseries, but my major gripe is with the complete inconsistency in how Marvel handles most if not all of their cancellations. If it's not numbers, then what is it?
It's like that one scene where Jason Todd is talking to Batman about Le Jokesteur and is like "I forgive you for not saving me, but why do you let HIM live?"
Well, duh.
I wouldn't have minded a mini because at least a full story could have been told but with Nova they just threw it out there and didn't do much shit to support it and then cancelled it once it dropped.
I honestly wouldn't be bitching about it either had they tried to keep it afloat or at least if they hadn't been biased with how they cancel their comics. It's like you said it's not just numbers.
At the least with Sam he's in Champions although it's frustrating that he's the character that gets the least attention and Zub barely just started doing something with him. Rich just pops in and then disappears until a writer wants to use him. I like to think Cates is not stupid enough to kill him again but I just know his shitty OC is going to one up Rich in a fight.
traction
I think Hydra guys getting blasted in First Avenger for space stone warped to the opposite side of the universe and formed The Nova Corp. They were elite nationalists who believed in things they weren't a bunch of heist planning marauders. Thanos took them out off camera before so I guess there are enough autists to initiate an online interest in a Nova film.
Maybe a Captain Marvel - like character for Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
My frustration with Zub's Champions has been that he's promising that stuff will happen to Sam and we need to keep reading it, but he's not actually been hinting at anything nor does he give Sam any actual independency, or whatever the word is. He's not pushing Sam towards solving his own problem; he's just letting him languish in teen angst. Obviously that's changing with the latest issue, but it still feels almost too-little-too-late.
>They were elite nationalists who believed in things they weren't a bunch of heist planning marauders.
They weren't and never were either of those things.
I mean this volume has only had 3 issues so far
The previous volume ended with the Weirdworld arc and Sam voluntarily giving up with Nova Crystal Knight powers
So while it's been awhile, there have been some developments
I mean developments as in Sam trying to get his powers back. Zub gave him a monologue about how he wasn't willing to ask for help from Rich or Riri, so you'd expect that he'd try to find an answer himself. But then he doesn't.
Issue #3 is essentially the cold-opener to Sam's comeback arc, and if we assume that Champions is being written for the trade then we'll see him either get his powers back outright in #6, or in that issue we'll see what he needs to do to get his powers back and effectively end the first of three acts in the overall arc.
Or something like that. The point is that Zub is taking his sweet time, and every minute Sam isn't Nova is another minute that he can't drag Miles into space for trying to mack on Kamala.
They were soldiers who were a part of some mad scientists plot. What else would they be besides hand picked too of their class Germans? Plucked from their time far away from any race to blame they'd revert to their earlier motif of priority 1 team priority 2 power priority 3 government.
Speaking of Nazi comic book characters, I tried reading Exiles and I just couldn't stand reading the ongoing adventures of what are undoubtedly today's Nazis.
Novas have never had anything to do with Nazis.
