I stopped reading comicbooks. Overall I've grown to realize I don't really like them for their stories or entertainment value, but rather that I read them so I could be in the know with other nerds or geeks.

I've done much the same with live action TV. I find Daredevil and shows like Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones too drawn out and boring.

Regular Show pissed me off and Adventure Time just made me sad. I realized that the freedom that allowed stranger, more experimental cartoons to get on TV also meant that there were fewer limiters on artists and writers running their shows into a ditch.

tv cartoon I've been watching lately is from 1983. Mysterious Cities of Gold. People die in almost every episode. Children are threatened with torture and death. Almost every character, apart from the main one is racist in some way. It's the only cartoon I can recall where a grown man calls a 12-year-old boy a "white devil".

And there's no ironic detachment. Not a drop of it. It's all sincere.

I would say they don't make cartoons like that anymore, but they hardly ever did in the first place. I wish I had a chance to work on something like that.

Adventure Time got progressively better as it went on.
The first 2 seasons are really generic "episode of the week" with Finn and Jake doing lolsorandom bullshit with the blandest attempt at humor ever.
After season 2 the writers started developing the characters and exploring more experimental, mature themes.

I never completely saw ATLA & TLOK, except for some episodes I found when I was a kid on TV.
But still, years later; when I discovered Yea Forums that you spoke here more often of both cartoons... I could know more loose information about both plot, realizing that the topic of spiritualism and mysticism was never an interest for me, but the characters and the world were interesting.

I enjoyed the live action Green Lantern film and is what got me interested in the character and comics

Tomasi was the first Superman writer that I got into, I used to follow New 52 loosely but wasn't fond of it.

My opinion, as its always been, is that BH6 is a great, "Boy and his Bot" film, and a bad superhero film. It felt like the creators were almost compelled to add superhero stuff to the story.

I would have cut the superhero stuff out completely, but I guess it wouldn't have been Big Hero Six anymore then.

I unironically like Spider-Man 3, The Incredible Hulk, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Elektra, The Last Jedi and Age of Extinction.
I think The Dark Knight Returns, All-Star Superman, Watchmen (the comic) and most of the MCU are extremely overrated.
I unironically liked the 10-issue A-Force series from a few years back, Flashpoint and most of IDW's Transformers series.
I don't really like cartoons. The only ones I still enjoy are old Simpsons episodes, Transformers Prime and The Clone Wars.

What's important to me the most is that I overall enjoy what I'm reading/watching/playing. I tend to look at reviews after I've experienced something, just so I can get a better understanding of the material, but my priority is whether or not I enjoy it.

Maybe that makes me a weird or a flake, so be it. What I care about the most is enjoying the things that make me happy, and I hope you all can do the same.

The OT movies are overrated, Star Wars was a great film but empire was a sluggish bore, ROTJ is only great for the jabbas palace scenes while the rest of the movie is at times very stupid.

Most are very old and terrible. Only in the last four years have I actually improved in any substantial way, and I haven't drawn W.I.T.C.H. in a long time. Just some SU stuff and well... Lolirock has cute designs so I'll be doing that.

I'm honestly not bothered by whatever they do to Wally West/Roy Harper/Ted Kord/Kyle Rayner now. The continuity has been rewritten so many times that I just don't see the Wally of HoI as THE Wally. It's just another version. And honestly, do I want to see Wally living in a new continuity without his wife and kids and relegated back to his less-than-Barry status? Do I want to keep Ted living on as a Schrodinger's-superhero? Not really. I'd prefer you just move on and commit to what you've done. Don't half-ass it with second guessed plotlines.
