I just finished reading this comic and the ending was a big "fuck you" to me, the protagonists spend the whole ending defeating a bunch of literally who characters while the the Mary Sue troll defeat the big boss and the wolf girl defeat the second big baddie.

I'm happier that jake and dirk got together instead of whatever you mentioned
But hussie's greatest mistake was honestly extending the plot too long
the dancestors/alpha kids were an interesting concept, but he either should have introduced them differently/earlier or he should have just kept them towards the end and had the beta kids resolve the plot instead of them work together

He essentially remained the exact same. Even with AR thrown into the mix ARquiusprite was still just Equius, with a side of Strider if Dave or Dirk is around. Could be because Equius' personality obscures others like the Heir of VOID he is, or because Dirk's and Equius' personalities blend in really well together.
Oh yeah there's also the part where he puts Caliborn in a chokehold, giving enough time for Dirk to succ him and the rest of the compoments of LE into Lil Cal. Thus becoming part of LE. And most importantly, Doc Scratch who implements the brutal hemocaste system unto Alternia, to mold them into his own image.
