How would Legend of Korra Differ if Katara and Zuko were Together?

Would Korra be an entirely different character? What would happen to Aang? Would the Water Tribes be as important like in Season 2?

Wait a minute...
Did you want to see the Fire Nation 70 years later instead of the Water Tribes in the S2 of TLOK?
It's the only cause I see now why start this thread...
Apart from Zutara.

>Azula's there
>she has dopey eyes
Why did they lobotomize her and make her their slave?

>Brainwashed, docile, dress-up doll Azula
Need more

Huh, good idea.

>Would Korra be an entirely different character?
Maybe. Chances are 50/50 with the whole reincarnation cycle.

>What would happen to Aang?
Gets depressed for a while, but find another girl in time. I like to think he would bring actual peace to Azula. He would be her calm before her storm and teach her to stop letting fear and insecurity to define. At the same time, Azula teaches him to man up and be strong, to get over pain and to be there for his people. She would be the reason why Aang is not afraid of killing anymore.

Her or maybe the other 2 fangirls he had.

>Would the Water Tribes be as important like in Season 2?
Probably about the same set of events happen. But since Katara is a queen now. There is a high chance that the events of that comic book about the water tribes would go differently, maybe Hakoda would actually die, the plan to take over the natural resources SWT would be successful and Sokka would be alone trying to stop the NWT influence and spies that have infiltrated the SWT.

Overall, everyone would be in a worse place except probably Katara herself and maybe Aang.

The water tribes would be just as important, likely even more so due to a now much my supportive fire nation to the water tribe due to the fire lord’s wife and children being water benders, at least some of them.

We would likely see a much stronger water nation and fire nation, with sea trade and naval forces being saturated. The fire and water nation bloc would intimidate the earth kingdoms greatly, leading to a tug of war between them and the dominated sea trade.

Would probably see more water Tribe inspired fire bending techniques and vice versa due to Zuko’s teachings and Katara being a master prodigy of wate rbending

Aang would either get with Toph or some rando, cause he’d still want a family and thus Tenzin and Bumi would still be born in all likelihood.

Sokka would become the best uncle, and likely an admiral in either fleet if he did not become the leader of the republic fleet.

You can already tell the kid on the left takes after Aunt Azula, already plotting for an "accident" to happen to her older sister.

We had similar thoughts, but the Azula and Aang ship was unexpected. I dig it, and support it.

Gotta secure that throne for the best daughter obviously

Aang would probably not help Zuko with the quest ti find his mother. Meaning that they never find Ursa.

I think he would. Him and Zuko are close friends by the end, and Aang is pretty mature by the end as well. All else fails, Katara asks him to do it for old times saw.

>likely even more so due to a now much my supportive fire nation to the water tribe
This could actually not be the case. We saw that the SWT hates it when people interfere in their business. The Fire Nation is still considered an invasive force that should not be trusted.

Katara would probably become one of the most hated women in Tribes for marrying the leader of the same people who waged war on the Water Tribes. Which might exactly one of the reason why she doesn't go directly to the SWT during the events of the comic books (Along with the duties of what being a Queen are). It might also be an extra reason for NWT to asimilite, culturally dominate and economically control the SWT.

Let's say that Azula is with Aang not only because i'm a filthy shipping piece of shit. But also because it brings the highest amount of changes to the timeline.

This means that the events of Smoke and Mirros (or whatever that comic with the shadows waas named) don't happen at all. And that probably Azula would instead focus on getting better with a little airbending philosophy and maybe even push Aang to find more airbenders that survived the genocide (taking a bit of the tcg lore, which was a lot more fun than Korra's canon). That by itself could very easily be a whole arc for the comic books that would be a lot more fun to read about than all the comics of Korra combined.

The events with the giant Spirit and Yangchen can still happen, but they are different in that Katara and Sokka aren't there (Sokka is still busy fighting NWT influence) but instead we have an almost whole female cast with the exception of Aang. Maybe Mai and Ty Lee become part of a new team avatar along with Toph.

They may hate it, but a life time of dedicated help and aide the a repairing water tribe from Zuko would likely be appreciated, not to mention Katara working to reestablish the culture lost during the war.

It would probably be just as shit. Korra was a crap chute for many reasons, one of them in prticular being how little it connected to the themes, motifs, or end results left by the previous series and how lazy and shitty the ways it did were.

Avatar who have been definetly worse though because this is actually one of the few pairsints worse that the show’s canon ones.

>Katara
um excuse me, that appears to be Sapphire Fire.

She's just trying to figure out the genetic logistics of the child on the left. And why she's the one wearing a Water Tribe necklace. Shit, is she Katara's wife or something? Is that how we're doing this?

>heir to the throne ends up being a waterbender
political autism up the ass.

I'm not entirely sure. Sure, he is mature. But he is still a boy, he is still a teenager with all the drama that being a teen brings. We saw how angry he got by petty things in past issues of the story after the show. It could take him a while.

But honestly, the real reason I would rather keep them separated. Is because I like the idea of they meeting each other again as young adults.

Following this: It would probably be a bit different.

Because Katara asking him personally could do the trick to get him to cooperate. Altough the Azula that is going with them in this journey would be a different person (but not that different) from the one that nearly killed Ursa.

It could be interesting to explore both routes because on hand, you would get weirded out reactions from Sokka, Katara and specilly Zuko to the relationship that Aang and Azula now have. Zuko would find extremely strange to see his sister caring about something other than herself and being open with Aang.

Aang being a bit more fiercy and aggressive (he was already assertive before in the series) and showing less hesitation to slap a bitch would scare Katara. She probably would wonder what happened to the kid that used to slide on the back of penguins? He is still there, he still enjoy fucking around with crazy animals, but only now is a bit more serious.

And Aang would probably be the reason why Azula doesn't try to kill her mother as soon as the truth about her is revealed.

>They may hate it, but a life time of dedicated help and aide the a repairing water tribe from Zuko would likely be appreciated

By a very small minority. I like how positive you are user. But we saw SWT civilians screaming shit at Zuko when he presented himself in the meeting of the comics.

She would be hated for a few decades. But in time, people would grow to love her again.

The Fire Lord marrying a Colonial? That’s absurd.

Probably the eldest whose arranged to marry a northern water tribe noble or prince that’s been courting her.

I bet there would be a bit of a huff, likely involving the military or Azula

Yes, it would take time. But that time would culminate by Korra’s Time, and we would see some good shit. Maybe that would be a plot point, some thing with sensitive but rapidly improving south water tribe Fire nation relations.

Also yeah, I like to be positive. Also, politics tend to push towards better relations, and Zuko would want to heal the wounds of the past.

I dig this a lot. Azula even doing a calming technique Aang taught her, and Zuko and Katara seeing just how much Azula is trying to change.

>Maybe that would be a plot point
I like to think that since Katara is a queen in this time line. Sokka was the only one going to see the South, therefore the attempt on Hakoda's life is successful.

Now it would be a cold war between the Fire Nation, the Nationalist groups of SWT (the weakest of the bunch) and the NWT who has economically and culturally dominated the SWT without getting in the way of the diplomatic relationships with the FN... for now at least.

There would be a lot of social turmoil and it would feel like living in Central America in the 70's. People would be anxious over any rising tension between the NWT and the FN.

>Azula is having a crisis. She is furious and is about to have another panic attack over the lack of love her mother had for her.
>She is about to run off to burn her face off.
>Aang tells her to stop. First is a scream "Azula! Stop!" then it gets softer "Please, stop". "Now, I want you to breath".
>Azula does Qi Gong breathing exercises to calm herself down. And then just turns her back and walks away, no longer with the intention of killing her mother.
>Zuko doesn't know how to react to this. He is in total shock. Katara on the other hand, understands perfectly well what just happened, but doesn't have the words to describe it.
>Sokka makes a joke about having zapping oggeys.

Eventually Azula managed to conquer her demons. Not defeated them totally, but contain them enough. She and Aang have a happy life, especially with her not at all taking his shit, and he helps her be a better mother than how she felt hers was.

She has moments, maybe even killed one of the red lotus, but Aang is always there to help her pull it back.

Zuko and Azula manage to rekindle some form of relationship, and even gets to know katara and his children enough to be a presence in their lives.

>Sokka makes a joke about having zapping oggeys.

And Ha, he would

I would be pretty cool with a Cold War state to be honest. Less optimistic but more interesting a political state.

I like to think Katara cheated on Aang with zuko a few times and Aang probably knew and didn't care, being to busy helping out the earth

If so I can see Aang hooking up with toph and heading home limping

>Fire Lord that is a waterbender

I need to see it but I never will and now I'm sad.

Fire Lord Kya, a renown water bender who created a style of water bending heavily influenced by fire bending. She ruled fairly but strictly, ensuring the fire nation and its nobility would not question her legitimacy. Her son, Iroh, being a fire bender also helped her legitimacy
