>Carol asks Maria to accompany her on a dangerous mission that she personally has a great chance of surviving, but an ordinary human absolutely would not >Maria (very reasonably) turns her down, her reasoning being that in the more-than-likely event of her death, she would be orphaning her daughter >movie proceeds to use that daughter as a mouthpiece for why Maria should go ahead and sacrifice herself AND HER ENTIRE FAMILY at the altar of propping up Carol
All shitposting and bitching aside, was anyone else put off by this? Like, Maria is so mortal compared to Carol, and has so much more to lose- why are they trying to play it off like her running off to play hero with her literally invincible superhero buddy is the right decision?
Maria was a military pilot, not some random housewife.
Jayden Howard
Larson needed a black sidekick that wasn't a cis black man.
Aiden Baker
>All shitposting and bitching aside, was anyone else put off by this? No, because I didn't see it.
Jonathan Perry
A military pilot who specifically never flew combat missions.
Leo Foster
Monica didn't want her mom to let down her other mom.
Austin Barnes
Because it wasn’t allowed at the time, not because she had no desire to. Maria herself said they were helping with Pegasus because they wanted a chance to make a difference. The pep talk she gave to Carol equally applied to herself and her daughter reminded her of that.
Adrian Hill
It was a bit silly and illogical. This is definitely one of those movies where its best to just completely suspend your sense of disbelief.
Jonathan Powell
Did anyone else wonder if Maria got BLEACHED?
Christopher Cooper
I feel like Maria shoulda been Captain Marvel in this movie, or atleast give her character to Monica and be the hero
