I agree. Reboot Lara has zero personality. She's defined solely by the adversity she faces but has no actual character. The original games were deliberately campy, fantastical, and colorful, so removing that element from the equation just makes everything dreary and bland.

The new Tomb Raiders are designed by committee, so of course they're not going to have any personality or anything to truly engage the audience. The devs are imitating stuff like Uncharted and Last of Us because those are popular titles and the general public will eat it up. Stamping out the unique elements that make a Tomb Raider was a logical step forward for whoever the reboot's publishers are. Doing that allows it to appeal to as broad and homogeneous an audience as possible. There can't be too much personality or color because that could potentially alienate the 0.07% of the target audience that doesn't like that specific element.
