Where's Mary?
also crying in a different shower
If you time your sobs right no one will ever know.
The secret is to have a shower radio
Better: A shower toaster.
Nah nah, you'll get soggy toast.
Try a shower oven.
Only if it has a side swing door.
How do you fit a swing in your shower?
Put a mounting bracket on a beam in the ceiling then run some chain and a tire.
>she never learned how to cry in absolute silence
Piece of shit.
What is this stupid shit?
My dyke sense is tingling, and as someone who stomached the freak show of MoJ, I know a thing or two about that
>MoJ
?
You don't want to know
its like if oglaf was neither hot nor funny, and mixed with an old school freakshow and tumblrs most radical man-hating dykes
The dyke is crying in the shower. The girl with black hair is just an extra, and the brown hair girl name is Joyce is straight currently being tempted by BBC.
oh, moon over june
"Dumbing of Age", an ongoing webcomic about life as college freshmen, written by a guy who dropped out after freshman year. The story concerns a cast of characters culled from the writer's past 20 years of amateur and semi-professional comic writing and illustrating, in that he's been using the same exact cast for twenty-plus years at this point. The comic itself is slice-of-life, but with an overdose of After School Special to the point that this college should be shut down.
>fell for the "go directly to college meme" when community colleges offer the same AA for the same price and transfer is easy
White people sure are stupid
*faction of the price
That's an opinion we can debate upon at a later date.
The main lesson to learn here is that David Willis couldn't hack it in college, so he left and lived with his parents while making "Roomies", a comic about being in college.
>That's an opinion we can debate upon at a later date.
fair enough
Whats the dudes obsession with dykes and black cucking? Usually chicks write about chick issuses
Something to note is that he started making Roomies while still in college and submitted it to the college newspaper
>and transfer is easy
Not really. Everyone I know who went to community college had at least one class that wouldn't transfer despite being told it would.
Still a couple hundered bucks a semester beats 3 grand for 3 classes for the first two years.
You need a university for peer review and databases. you don't need that for GE classes. Thus AAs at universities are a scam
He had Christian fundie parents, and he's still butthurt over it.
Also true.
"Roomies" began at his college, then kept going after dropping out. After several years it transitioned into "It's Walky", and from there it branched into "Shortpacked!", which is where Willis REALLY got notorious when his various social-issue strips get reposted on Tumblr and the like. You've probably seen the one about Batman, or the edit featuring JoJo.
In any case, at some point he decided to start a second webcomic, which as we've implied by now is just a reboot of "Roomies" in an alternate universe. Sadly, it's the most popular of all of his webcomics, to the point that he makes his living from Patreon alone.
On another note, Willis has stated in the past that he has no plans to push the story beyond freshman year. The comic has been running for eight years at this point, and we're only two months into the timeline.
>from there it branched into "Shortpacked!"
Well he also did a direct sequel to It's Walky called Joyce and Walky
Oh, right. "It's Walky" branched into both "Shortpacked!" and "Joyce and Walky". And I believe the latter ended up with a spin-off called "It's Pregnancy" too.
But "Shortpacked!" is the one everybody remembers, of course. He still updates it every April Fool's Day.
>I believe the latter ended up with a spin-off called "It's Pregnancy" too.
well that was just a short thing Willis did because his wife was pregnant.
Well, then, that solves the issue of the timeline.
Now to figure out what the hell's been going on in the comic since we stopped having regular DoA threads. I remember the blonde one failing a test and the guy with the uke. Did he ever shack up with the black chick? I swear, the comic would be redeemed if he colonizes that muff.
>the guy with the uke. Did he ever shack up with the black chick?
Are you talking about Danny and Sal?
The issue is that since you're taking core classes at community colleges even a single class not transferring can potentially set you back a semester. Also you should be taking college credit courses in high school if able, since those usually are run through programs affiliated with 4-year institutions.
Write what you know and all that. However, by not moving past freshman year it means he's also going to be able to timeskip if he wants to do a sequel series to DoA and not lock himself into a set history.
Sure, if they have names. As far as I know, DoA's cast is defined by two or three personal quirks and/or physical traits, rather than actual personality or character development.
I don't think they've hooked up yet.
IIRC, nothing's happened between Danny and Sal, Dorothy dumped Walky, Walky hooked up with Amber, and now Lucy is trying to get with Walky. Joyce is trying to break up Jacob and Raidah, with Sarah's support, ostensibly because she wants Sarah and Jacob to hook up but obviously wants him for herself.
>The story concerns a cast of characters culled from the writer's past 20 years
Try the past 35 years. Willis has been reusing these characters since preschool. That’s not inherently a bad thing, Larson has been drawing Savage Dragon since elementary for example. It’s just you’d think Willis would improve his writing at some poin
I really wouldn't use Savage Dragon as an example pick in context with your post, seeing as it's mostly just shitty porn these days.
Well willis does shitty slipshines
Yeah, but it be as if Willis only did shitty Slipshines, and not starring the original cast to boot.
>it's mostly just shitty porn these days.
well that’s fucking lame. What happened?
There has always been a sexual element to Savage Dragon, but Larson just stopped giving a fuck.
I remember when the MoJ site went down for good years ago never to rise again
It was a glorious day
MoJ is still updating on Slipshine
Dear god why
it can't be true
I thought it would end after the fucking "weed in the pussy" joke (something my friend called when the arc started)
Dear god why
who would support this
>it can't be true
it is
Crying or fucking? I can never tell with Willis' sound effects.
Who cares about Mary. Where's Wacky Backy?
>Moon Over June getting equal billing with Rock Cocks
what an age we live in
>he doesn't enjoy a good weep and jerk
Pantsless and probably going to be raped by Anna the moment Leslie leaves for work.
She was just here yesterday
>we can now also see Becky's mouth through her hair
>with an orange filter
Are we sure this is hair, and not some kind of orange jelly lifeform slowly taking over Becky?
It's Jell-O mold
>communal shower
u wot m8
yeah I don't know if the author actually went to college
Might be an older campus. The college I went to didnt have one but there were campuses in my area that did.
He went to this campus, but in the late 90s
Fucking hell... he actually added quips onto a scene of a woman breaking down. He literally cannot end a strip without "jokes" unless it's about his EEEEEVIL villains being SUPER EEEEEEEVIL
Don't worry, when something actually dramatic happens he'll put a mile long trigger warning.
Paty Hall at the University of Alabama had barrack-style toilets and showers until they started renovations last year. Any older dorm building that isn't co-ed likely had communal showers at some point and probably only recently switched over to suite-style bathrooms.
I already forgot about Mindy and Anna.
Now I remember the pun.
Mindy. Anna.
Mindy/Anna.
Indiana.
Kill me.
>barrack
what color were they?
This kind of off-brown tile. I only lived there for a single semester in 2007 so I don't really remember very well.
interesting
>its like if oglaf was neither hot nor funny
So, regular Oglaf?
I'm curious as to why you asked.
for the joke
Oglaf has made me laugh many times
I did nut to it once the fruit mummy got me off pretty well
I don't get it.
Staying out of this shit and being the best even if she's a filty P*otestant.
barrack obama
Are there any Catholics in DoA?
I think Sal and Walky were raised Catholic (and I KNOW Sal went to a Catholic boarding school) but I’m too lazy to doublecheck and make sure
In the old universe or this one?
Their religious affiliation has never been revealed.
You've got it wrong. Willis dropped out of college after one semester, he never finished his freshman year. One semester is his entire college experience.
Off being wacky
When is Mary going to hook up with Carla and Roz? That's all I'm waiting for.
>and Roz
why?
Becky would be a far more interesting character if she were written as one of those people who just go wild when they stop being a fundie/come out of the closet.
>go wild
in what way?
Hedonistic irresponsibility with an implied sluttiness.
>Hedonistic
just say indulgent
what if, just for instance, she started wearing an enormous codpiece
how enormous
Not quite the same implications.
Becky's gonna bring back Tudor-period fashion one way or the other.
>Not quite the same implications.
elaborate
this one.
That's not a codpiece anymore, that's a salmonpiece
Indulgence usually implies food or expense, hedonism usually implies pleasure.
greeds is greeds
>When there's a new comic but it isn't Mary.
They're opposites which is nice and the hate sex would be wonderful.
In reality there's probably a good story you could tell about two extremes like them finding some sort of common gound and becoming more well-rounded characters but lord knows Willis will never do it because he'd either spontaneously combust or be lynched by his fans if he tried to make Mary anything other than what she is.
I'm kinda amaze that Roz isn't more hated, she doesn't really have any redeeming factors and her behavior is downright toxic.
She outed her own sister to make herself more popular, what's not to love?
Strictly speaking becoming more popular was a bonus.
