It's not much really. Just like the first few episodes of the previous seasons, these episodes are setting up the scene for the rest of the season. Giving a solid ground to build upon.

So now we know that Eclipsa took over and treats monsters fairly. She doesn't seem to care all that much about the mewmans though. The remains of the Mewni Kingdom are in tatters, the people are distrustful and hopeless.

But the monsters are thriving. Baby Meteora didn't really stop from being a threat, seeing how she remembers Marco. The Butterfly family isn't as royal as some were led to believe but we knew this already from the newest merch book. Star is powerful enough now to not need a wand.

Star and Marco's relationship seem positive and not as awkward as it was before Booth Buddies. At least they got that shit out of their system. Maybe. Also the beach day photo is going to happen in the future, probably the near future (as in midseason).

Tom seems to have some difficulties with Star, he can be a bad demon boy all day long, but doesn't seem to have the logical or empathetic mindset Marco has. This was also shown in the episode where the monsters leave the mewman dimension, where he tries to come up with something nice to say, but he can't, because even though he IS a monster (are demons monsters or are they a separate category?), he is also royalty, and probably filthy rich. He can't really relate or comfort monsters who were mistreated.

Finally, Moon has been almost completely mindwashed from being exposed to the magic dimension for too long. But at least she still remembers how to bake pies. Oh and that one song from her and Star's childhood. The Butterfly family... is homeless. Probably. What with the mewman castle being torn apart. But it seems like Eclipsa is welcoming of them, seeing how she lets Star and Marco have their own room. Not sure what opinion Globgor will have on mewmans...

That leaves Ludo, the MHC and Earth up in the air.

Meteora half sucked her soul and Moon opened a portal to the magic dimension. The Magic Dimension eats your memory, so Moon was naked and amnesiac for a time before Star found her and lost her again.

I actually loved this aspect. The Time Paradox actually does seem like something totally consistent with the world lore built to this point, particularly taken in with Mathemagic and Freeze Day. People just getting salty for no reason.

Her words revitalized my doubts and felt complete again. Then she slowly faded away into darkness and I woke up.

To me, the real problem is that the show hasn’t let Marco be anything other than Star’s emotional security blanket. Since someone compared him to Marco earlier, the reason Ron Stoppable was a great character is because even though his primary role was to support Kim, the show also let him have his own adventures and accomplishments outside of that (like becoming the new Monkey Fist). The only real time that’s happened with Marco is during his trip to Hecapoo’s dimension. Hell, even his relationship with Jackie required direct involvement from Star.
I’m hoping the last season will give Marco some space to do his own thing for at least a little while, but I’m not counting on it.

IIRC if she's who I think she is, she mentioned his character is composed of a blend of negative traits from all her ex bfs. Which is strange because I never found the character that unsympathetic. I actually like Tom in a lot of episodes. I mean yes, he does a lot of things you could vaguely file under 'evil' but that's sort of unavoidable when you're an unholy amalgamation between a human and a giant devil creature.

I don't think those in particular look bad (except for the glasses) because Mewmans have always had technicolor hair, but some of the weirder-looking Mewmans and monsters have garbo designs.

The monsters in New Monstertown or whatever especially; really highlights how much they're pushing for all of them to be round and cute and friendly this season. Not that there haven't been some cute monsters even in S1, but these especially feel low-effort.

I think since S3 a lot of background characters have kinda looked shit. I was going to say "maybe even S2" but I still remember them looking pretty decent there; open to someone proving me wrong on that though.

I doubt it, Globgor got fucked over by the MHC according to the book and did literally nothing wrong, he's called the lumb detacher or something like that, because you need to fight to gain respect among monster, but never hurst anyone inocent, if he wakes up he has all the good reason to try take revenge on MHC, if anything he get redeem at the end, but is probably going to feel really rushed, i would prefered if they introduced Seph in the last season

A magical princess trying to grasp earth's brand on mundanity, and taking it as an epic quest, while using her own world's brand of mundanity, that means magic, as a mundabe tool to take on her journey to buy a simple frozen yogurt. Meanwhile we see Marco on his own quest as he is pushing himself for improvement, and a little pest keeping on annoying him, and still having success.
It's an episode for comedy and fun so it's my favorite.

The point is Globgor will most likely become evil because of the MHC fucking things up the first time.
