Nothing? Were these threads being carried by people who said Jane sucks?
I just want Ezekiel to come back
I have to believe he will. The EP made him for Supernatural and got Curtis Armstrong to voice him. I'm willing to be he'll show up in the Danny the Street episode.
Who do you want to show up in future episodes? I'm hoping for Madame Rouge.
Dorothy Spinner when? They mentioned antfarm already.
Why is Jane such a cunt all the time?
There was an interview with Timothy Dalton where he implied she shows up toward the end of the season
She'd be interesting. I definitely want to see Brain and Mallah at some point. We know the Brotherhood exists, it's just a question of will we see Evil or Dada first.
Dalton confirmed Dorothy at some point. I think we're getting Mento in like two episodes from now.
>Jane kills a bunch of puppets
>knows they are fucking puppets
>sees that Cliff killed puppets
>let's Cliff think they are people and not puppets
>somehow thinks Cliff is bad for killing nazi puppets in self defense when she herself killed them too
Jane has a fucked up past and her sense of judgement is fucked up. She is triggered by violent men and thought Cliff was different. Parts of her clearly know he isn't, like Baby Doll. But her defense mechanism, Hammerhead, isn't going to let Jane (or Kay I guess) possibly get hurt by risking trusting him.
I think they will leave the brotherhood of evil for a second season.
Someone most likely said this a thousand times already
Cyborg sucks
I hate cyborg in almost everything he's been in
He’s easily the worst part of the show. He’ll fuck off to Titans eventually right?
Yea Forumsnsensus is that Jane sucks, Cyborg fits in pretty well.
Yes.
All we can do is hope he gets better later on in the season, but it was better when he wasn't around
>Jane sucks
Previous statement retracted, Jane sucks
I still don't like cyborg in this but holy shit
I'd keep cy if Jane hits the road given the choice
What was Cliff supposed to do though? Just let the Nazis kill him?
hope the show dies soon
it's shit

>I think we're getting Mento in like two episodes from now.
Really? I wouldn't expect them to pay attention to a character that's the most normalfag of the Doom Patrol.
I'm not arguing if she was right or not, but we all know Jane is fucked up. They'll probably reach an understanding like that issue where he goes inside her head and meets her personalities and sees the origin of her trauma.
Yeah, but they're pulling from all generations of Doom Patrol so I'm not surprised. We'll see what they have in store I guess.
You can tell that a show is good if Yea Forums doesn't have a bunch of threads about it
titans must be a fucking masterpiece then
Ironic enough I'm actually watching that in the morning so hopefully it is an actual sleeper hit for me
It's alright enough. The guest star episodes are better than the ones focusing on the main cast
More like you can tell that a show is dead
It works the same for movies too that's why Captain Marvel is going to make a billion and a certain other movie won't make it to $200 million
Have sex
gimme the MEGA links
>Morrisonkino.
usual sjw-garbage. you DCcucks will defend anything, so pathetic
>sex
gross
>Triggered by a man hating alter hating on a man briefly.
Hope you like not enjoying anything, you sensitive baby.
Suck on that Disney dick a little harder, why don't you Ladderfag
Then thats on you dude. I think Cyborg is fine. He plays the straight man.
Also since Chief is the one who causes all the accidents then did he cause Cyborg's too. He said hes know him his whole life.
Check any of the other threads in archive. It has it and Titans in it
Vic's scans say there's no alteration of his memories, then again his system is named Grid, so he may as well have a sentient virus planted by Caulder to prevent Vic from discovering the truth.
Why is everything about the show so great *except* for Jane? How do you get so much right and then have such an awful actress / character writing combination like that? Also:
>We have this really important task with the fate of the world riding on it and only one of Jane's 64 personalities is able to do it. I don't see how this could possibly go wrong.
>*Time to do task arrives*
>I'M ONE OF JANE'S OTHER PERSONALITIES NOW, TOO BAD!
Having literally any other character just spend a few minutes to learn how to sew would've been a much better decision than sending Jane. I don't know why everyone hasn't figured out by now that Jane's personalities are completely out of control and she'll almost never have the right one for a pre-planned job.
That's just the practical problem with her. The more pressing problem for her as a TV show character is how her actress is shit and whoever's writing her lines is equally obnoxious ("You have toxic masculinity, Cliff!"). And to make both of those things even worse she's a multiple personality character so you have to watch her cycle through a whole collection of stupid accents / speech patterns.
Mento would be weird right now, I think he should join when the group feels like a real superhero team
Tell me about Jane, why does she wear the shirt?
/thread
I don't think he's joining for good right now. Probably just introducing him and teasing a relationship between him and Rita.
>Defending shitty writing and retarded agenda
They won't do the Brotherhood because it's based on the Morrison run and Morrison killed Brain and Mallah off (in spite of them being big time Titan villains), because he fucking hated them that much (even made Brain a sick fuck who wanted to fuck an actual ape too).
Also, Rogue only works because she massacred the entire team and Beast Boy has a hard on to kill her to avenge Chief/Larry/Rita.
Because they inverted her dynamic with Cliff by making him Cliff's magic pixie dream girl, as opposed to Jane being the horribly broken Moe girl who snaps Cliff out of his depression, as far as doing everything he can to protect Jane and help her recover from all of the hellish abuse she suffered
>usual sjw-garbage
But that's Captain Marvel
>A character says something in line with what a character would say.
Only thing retarded here is you. If you got triggered at that line, wait til Black Annis shows up.
can Rita turn herself into another person? or grow a penis? that would be awkward haha...
They're pulling from all versions of DP, actually. It's why we got Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man last episode (he wasn't in Morrison's run). They're probably not going to do them right now though, with the emphasis being on Mr Nobody.
They expressly made Jane a Manic Pixie Girl to make Robotman's issues be the worser of the two.
Also, you can't do Jane's arc if she's there at the beginning. Remember, Jane was introduced after Cliff saw TWO incarnations of Doom Patrol wiped out. Meeting Jane got Cliff to come out of retirement and do something other than mope around super depressed.
Just watched the pilot, that was really good. Wish all the episodes were out though
>Wish all the episodes were out though
FUCK NETFLIX and FUCK BINGE WATCHING!
I was reading through the doc for that "old" garbage that got created here (/co-Yea Forums's Bizarre Adventure) I and I just had an Epiphany about Part 7...Why didn't they just call Janes Stand [SOUND OF THE UNDERGROUND]?
youtube.com
Yeah so do I, but it's probably better for the show to be released weekly. The crazy promos with the mysterious music keep building the hype and in the public consciousness. I'm just glad this show has been much more well received than Titans.
I can see why, it’s just that I’ve been conditioned to binge watch shows I like when they’re on streaming services.
The literal crazy person slinging non-sensical abuse at her closest friend because her rampant personality disorder makes intimacy and trust hard so she lashes out to push people away instead, like she has done since the character was first written in the 80s, has a scene demonstrating this behavior.
And intolerable faggots like you take it out of centext to go ‘muh SJWs’.
Let me reiterate: Crazy Jane, the character with ‘crazy’ in her name, is supposed to be crazy and displays erratic behavior constantly in-show. You might just as easily interpret, perhaps more convincingly, the scene in your .jpg as her irrational aggression reaching a boiling point. In this case the use of ‘toxic masculinity’ becomes almost a self parodying joke that uses the term as a buzzword out the mouth of someone who is too caught up in delusion to see the world clearly.
But no, just take a screenshot with the term in it and wank over having found yet another example of SJWs not caring about context or truth to character in facor of making memey bullet points to supposedly support their perception of the world without actual substance. You total fag.
Oh no, I get it. I'm the same way. But I think for a show like this, which is fighting an especially uphill battle being on a new, unknown streaming service and based on a property virtually unknown to the public, it helps to extend it's lifespan beyond the pump and dump out into the world you'd find on Netflix. Look at Umbrella Academy; it released it's entire season barely a month ago and there's almost no one really talking about it now (hell, it barely made a splash when it dropped). Doom Patrol on the other hand has been a rising star and it's still got over ten weeks worth of content to come. It continues build it's hype it'll hopefully live for another season. Just hope that the content remains strong.
Not the same user but when has Crazy Jane ever said "toxic masculinity" in the comics? Point out that line. I'll wait.
Out of all the buzzword she could muster, why did she bring up the retarded toxic masculinity word which straight up stupid and doesn't make any sense at all within context and especially without.
>Instead of arguing my side, I'm going to challenge you to a pointless exercise.
Plus you see their image is Black Annis, right? Someone who said much, much worse things about men, yes?
Doom Patrol definitely made me excited to see where Swamp Thing could go, i havent got a DCU subscription yet but I’ll get one in the coming weeks to support both this and Young Justice.
You retarded motherfucker of a dumbfuck. There is not a single instance of the word toxic masculinity in the original run and you're literally defending a talentless writer who think that adding that fucking buzzword added depth when its nothing more but a retarded writer's attempt at being woke.
Why does it fucking matter? We know she's in the wrong. Would you have preferred her to call him a beta male basedboy NPC?
Rita wasn't in Grant's run either, but keep on talking about how one line makes the entire show irredeemable because a man-hating alter ego used a contemporary insult.
>Rita actually using her powers instead of just melting this time
so when will giantess fetish material appear
>Watching Timeless
>Suddenly Castiel shows up
>Watching Doom Patrol
>Suddenly Crowley shows up
It's been a weird week...
Does anyone else hate Brendan Frasier to the point where it's ruining their experience with the show?
Nope. He's the best part.
How can you even hate the man? Explain yourself
>
Damn Nilfheim and all the mooks look like shit lmao
Pardon if someone noticed, but am I the only one hearing Utopia in this scene?
youtube.com
Specifically this track:
Jane is unironically completely wrong in that scene
>Also since Chief is the one who causes all the accidents
He raped Jane?
>crazy jane spouts 'toxic masculinity' term
>crazy jane
she's called crazy for a reason user
Grant Morrison rolling over in his grave...
t. Afton Smith
Because she is a fucking retard?
Creators want her to be the show’s Harley Quinn ie quirky cunt who gets away with everything
Wew.
Since they seem to be drawing from Giffen's run a bit for Rita, yeah, probably.
Why are people so triggered by the phrase "toxic masculinity"?
I don't think you understand why the writing for Jane on this TV show is so shit. It's not about how much they "hate men." It's about how obnoxious it is to hear them make her parrot forced buzzword retardation like "toxic masculinity." It's as stupid and disruptive to suspension of disbelief as when they had Vision's daughter use the phrase "microaggression" in that comic with Asian Hulk a little while back.
It also didn't make any sense in the context of that Doom Patrol TV scene. There was no actual grievance she had against Cliff even when taking into account she's supposed to be mentally ill. The writer/s had no idea what to do with that scene except that they apparently were very excited about getting to use the meme phrase "toxic masculinity" in their TV show. The scene is her saying that phrase and then her and Cliff proceeding to have an extremely unnatural few moments of back and forth dialogue about nothing at all because he didn't do anything except kill the same exact villains Jane killed in the same building at the same time.
The scene doesn't even make sense out of the lack of sense Jane is making i.e. they could've had her being mentally ill and incomprehensibly mad for no reason, but instead they had her end the exchange by saying at least her role of aggression existed for a reason with Cliff responding to that like she somehow had a good point. There are so many opportunities available for them to explore legitimate and believable sources of conflict and resolution between Jane and Cliff to do the character development arc they're obviously going for, but instead they keep doing this awkward and way too on the nose shit writing for Jane to make her create nonsense buzzword conflicts that don't resonate and don't have any substance.
If you compare it to the Morrison run in the comics it's very clear how badly the TV show is failing to hit on the genuine Jane / Cliff dynamic. The actress and her lines are both garbage.
It's just annoying and takes you out of the viewing experience because no non-insectoid human beings actually uses phrases like that in conversation. If you can't tell why it's jarring you're probably a bugperson yourself.
>Then that's on you dude
no shit, its an opinion
You must be literally retarded, because that phrase is implying that your opinion is the minority. Also, I bet you're
>Someone most likely said this a thousand times already
fucking how
also turn off your pc
>implying you screenshot means anything
How new are you? It takes 2 seconds to alter (You)s.
around long enough to not keep a dead thread alive
>bugperson
I thought you guys moved on to NPC when that one didn't catch on. Or are you recycling dead meme insults now.
>using buzzwords to decry the use of buzzwords
wew
if they dont include a gay guy wearing a fake beard and wanking to muscle mags i will be very annoyed
I hope they did put this in intentionally. You shitting yourself over one phrase is more entertaining than the last episode was.
How bad are you at touch typing to think that post took effort?
Never sad anything about effort, only how pathetic it is to rant that much about harmless dialogue.
The dialogue isn't harmful, it's just unnatural and obnoxious (and only Jane's lines and delivery for that matter, which makes it even more annoying since the rest of the show is really good).
>unnatural and obnoxious
For the love of god, it's supposed to be. In this instance, she's supposed to be annoying and lob a nonsensical insult at Cliff because Hammerhead's an aggressive radfem archetype. She obviously knows Cliff isn't a bad guy because her more innocent and forgiving side Baby Doll recognizes this. But no, keep getting your balls twisted over them using a phrase that didn't exist in the 80s because we all know dialogue and cultures are stagnant, right?
Why is it this show manages to have weird quirky humor without feeling meme-y?
>rita is probably only going to stretch, no giant powers
feels bad man.
Rita is really hot
If they had dragged that out until midway through the season, I'd agree. But in 4 episodes she's already shown progress at keeping her composure and now stretching body parts. Gotta crawl before you can walk.
Little obscure but The Arsenal. I'm curious if they would go the practical effects route like Robotman
I'm not the other user, but while I completely agree that the dialogue is supposed to be obnoxious and abrasive for the character, the actress doesn't do a good job with it, making it seem hollow and undermining its original intentions. I should mention that my view of the character is limited to the show, cause what kind of Yea Forumsntrarian nerd actually read comics lmao, so I am judging the character as the shows rather than the character who appears in the original run (or whenever she appears).
Brendan is literally one of the main reasons I'm watching this
>they had her end the exchange by saying at least her role of aggression existed for a reason with Cliff responding to that like she somehow had a good point
They really dropped the ball on not having Cliff responded in one of his damn funny disbelief moments that she literally says "My thing exists for a reason" to the guy who was literally assembled and did the thing he did for a good reason. Just having him snap off a response to that would have turned the scene from kind of out of place and flopping to help their chemistry to pure gold.
>"At least I exist for a reason."
>"She says to the BRAIN IN A ROBOT BODY!"
Because they're not winking and nodding at the audience going "Boy, this sure is weird huh?!". They just go with it.
bumping my own question
hosting a stream here for those who don't have DC universe Watch with me in rabb it s vroxcs. Sorry that I sound spammy, just can't find links for the new episode.
I tried watching the first episode of this and it was just a pale imitation of the Morrison run. Is this only liked cause of the name or Fraser unJUSTing himself?n
>I don't like thing
Okay.
I just dont see how this is supposedly better than Titans like everyone keeps saying
It's not needlessly edgy for one.
>I don't see how other people like thing
Okay.
>btw I only watched the first episode
Okay.
Robotman cheating on his wife, Rita being prejudiced and Crazy Jane in general weren't needlessly edgy?
>hate Brendan Frasier
Bizarro user pls go
do you think he gained weight for this or was he already chunky
Finally, an user with an opinion so bad all the rest of us can agree he's objectively wrong.
Nope. Cliff knows he fucked up and wanted to make things better and never got the chance to and he's haunted by it, that's a relatable human condition. If he continued to be a piece of shit and constantly objectified women, I'd say it was edgy, but he got better. Same with Rita's prejudice; she clearly doesn't judge people based on superficial differences anymore. And nothing Crazy Jane has done will ever top Dick "Fuck Batman" Grayson or anything from that shitty finale of Titans.
>Brendan just casually posing in the bottom left
b r e n a i s s a n c e
>Rita being prejudiced
Don't tell me you thought she was racist
Probably no more racist than anyone else who grew up in the 30s.
Answer the question in the context of the episode
they honestly shouldve made her racist, it would be an interesting "out of time" aspect that very few other time travel stories nowadays deal with.
Fat Constantine was a pretty cool guy.
I hope he stays a while longer even after this story's done
The Mummy movies were a long-ass time ago, user. Not being in blockbusters (or any major Hollywood release period) for a good few years means you can get away with getting a bit chunkier.
what do you think the chief is doing during all this?
