today op learns that Watchmen was based on the Charlton characters like the Question (Rorschach) and Blue Beetle (Nite Owl).

>the solicitation calls it road to watchmen: rorschach and nite owl
This is fucking gold. Good fucking job, DC

That doesn't excuse the title, you fucking imbecile.

Maybe it’s a spiritual “Road to Watchmen”?

>This title includes CAPTAIN ATOM (1966) #83-86, BLUE BEETLE (1967) #1-6, MYSTERIOUS SUSPENSE #1, CHARLTON PREMIERE #3, THE CHARLTON BULLSEYE (1975) #1, #5, THE CHARLTON BULLSEYE (1981) #1, AMERICOMICS #3 and AMERICOMICS SPECIAL #1.

>DC really thinks people who come off watching the show are gonna drop sixty bucks on a reprint of old comics only tangentially related to Watchmen

The only market for this is middle-aged white dude collectors, who are without doubt gonna be pissed off at the misrepresentation of the cover

Eh. I already have the 2 Action Heroes Archives and the original issues are public domain and can be found on ComicBookPlus. Still, nice to see this material get some attention.

Why would they be pissed off at the cover? The people who buy it because of the Charston characters are gonna know what's up.
Also, as a mid-twenties not-white dude I'm interested in this
