Spongebob was never good. It was always just a toned down Rocko’s Modern Life made for soccer moms. It single handedly killed Nickelodeon, as its popularity caused them to air it and it only and push out the other shows. It also killed cartoons, as every cartoon afterwards tried to immitate it.

The dynamic between Spongebob and Squidward is much better than the one between Spongebob and Patrick. Patrick is easily the worst part of the show, by the by. Even as a kid, I found his gags and quotes to be more annoying than funny.
