The art is really nice but they do need to work on distinguishing the lettering. I mean, DC does know how to do the lettering with COLORS and not just fonts, I mean.

Looking the guy up he's a longtime letterer for 2000Ad and Dynamite. So that means he just knows how to fit a computer font into a speech bubble

The lettering here is pretty dynamic, and I think it's supposed to be a bit hidden who it is talking. The Dreaming and Lucifer have been filled with very dynamic lettering. I can't think of a DC book that is doing anything this interesting

I'm fine with the font, it should NOT be confusing, however, unless that's a plot point. And DC has done different COLORS, which can help, and that was my only comment.

Nope, I can understand the lack of interest. I personally didn’t like what they did to most of the sandman characters (Lucien, Mervyn etc.) and the girl is extremely annoying

No, the lack of interest is that people are this board are more currently fixated on Brie Larson's ass and Billy Stans who, even though they were around then, feel they have to defend a company that no longer exists from not only Superman but the studio and comic book company that's giving them a film with their hero, to be concerned with something as pedestrian as a story-time for an ongoing Vertigo book.

Yeah this in a nutshell. This issue's the first ever to genuinely feel like Sandman since the first issue, and even then it feels a lot more clumsily handled and hamfisted to the original series. It's still an improvement, it's just a damn shame it took 7 issues to get to approaching the old quality.

To be fair, Vertigo always flitted near the edge of fringe uninterest. There were a shitton of spinoffs of which only Lucifer's made anywhere near the same acclaim as Sandman and only Thessaly's is meaningfully remembered.

Nobody cares about the time Bast failed at doing the cat dream reality overwrite thing, or the time Lydia Hall briefly took up the mantle of the Furies to thrash Kronos into the underworld.

What is this, I love the art

I storytimed the #1's of The Dreaming and House of Whispers at the same time around release, got like six responses (more but that was me bumping the thread with another IP), and decided not to dedicate 48 minutes of my time to do it again.
For what it is worth I've liked The Dreaming, but storytiming is just a pain without the ability to really bump posts and the captcha sucks.
