Being self-aware can only get you so far if you don't do anything about the flaws you make fun of. If the crew knows that their characters are stagnant or that they rely too much on melodrama as a crutch, then it should be expected that they should also try to flesh the characters out or having one of the characters cut out the bullshit drama. Instead they just went further into it, which is even worse than not being aware at all.

It's a rhythm game that generates increasingly complicated algorithms the longer you play and also requires good coordination and dexterity. Garent's future vision lets her see the next sets before they're generated but not with total accuracy, sort of like a precog. This predictive pattern matching was like concentrated ASMR plugged directly into her brain.
