I legitimately cannot decide if I should be angry about this or not. Racelifting is one of the shittiest practices in Hollywood. It's not being woke or progressive, it's shitting on the source material. I would be just as pissy if they made Cyborg white. Spiderverse had the right idea by pushing Miles instead of just making Peter black while keeping everything else the same. Fuck, I hate corporate bullshit.
With all that said, though, the Hawks and their million reincarnations could believably be of any race and still be completely faithful to the source material. If they're calling him Carter Hall, I'm calling racelifting bullshit. If it's another reincarnation, then that's fine. It's not like he hasn't been middle eastern before.
