They are not the same.

Mondo Media started dubbing Lastman first (and is what's on VRV); the Blu-Ray needed a dub done earlier than Mondo had planned, so rather than change their time frame they just started from scratch and made a different (and shittier) dub. Don't watch that one.

Having watched all of the Mondo dub I can say it's a fantastic English dub. Michael Sinterniklaas (Dean Venture) is the director, and it shows. All of the English dialogue sounds incredibly fluid and conversational, swearing is used liberally but effectively, and all of the voices fit perfectly.

VRV (Mondo) = Good
Blu-Ray = Bad

One of my favorite cartoons, very unorthodox.

that's the one I watched, and I have no clue where to find the other one or identify it.
This show is fucking fantastic, I love it with passion, and if there is a better dub I should watch, I want to give it a go.

The show is best enjoyed in French honestly. Especially the scenes featuring music, since the OST is one of the show's strongest features.

Presumably, they're waiting for it to be finished to translate it all. There's still one tome left to release in France.

If you break it down, Tomes 1-6 is essentially one "season" while Tomes 7-12 are the final "season." So it's better to release 7-12 at a steady clip instead of doing 7-11 and then waiting like a year for Tome 12.

I like the art, but storywise the comic never did it for me. I like how the cartoon stands on its own thankfully

I love the comic's story (I get how some might not, but I like it just as much as the show's), though I will say that they're really dragging out Richard vs. Howard. Saving their confrontation for the last tome makes sense, but boy, it's a whole lotta blue balling.

So fill me in on what happens to howard in the tomes, I've only seen the show so far and don't mind spoilers. Does he become a godking or something?

The short version is that he becomes a necromancer (or "The Magician of Life and Death" as they refer to him), and eventually perpetuates a magical plague that fucks up everyone in the valley of kings, bending them to his will and turns them into barely human monsters. This fucks up the barrier between the two worlds, so to stop the two worlds from merging (thus, presumably, spreading the magical plague into Richard's world as well), Richard, Siri and H. have to go into the Valley and stop him.

The long version is that Richard cucks him. Howard, being the seething basedboy that he is, takes it poorly.

Cool I'll def start messing around with this. Been looking for stuff all day. Plenty of encoders like handbreak and such but I was having trouble finding something to rip the audio from the vrv download and put it on the blu ray ones

Audiacity will rip the audio from the video, it wont put it back on though, you will need to either find some other program to do that or do some hackerish shit with ffmpeg command line stuff

The show is a prequel of the comic, but you don't need to see one first to understand the other. If anything it only makes it more confusing.

Its a good boxing/demon hunting show, If I could compare it to something else I would call it hajime no ippo meets Devilman.
But here Aldana actually has to cheat a lot of the times to win.
