And for one time in his life of power and control

Frollo felt a twinge of *fear* for his immortal soul.

I'm always impressed at how seriously this movie takes Catholicism.

Not to mention, the incredibly awkward boner at the sight of a deformed baby and a female corpse.

It's good because even though the bad guy is a religious figure (which they usually always denigrate Christian people in the movies) but the book is Christian.

Wow I butchered the grammar there. Time for bed

very well, but let him live with you

Well, yeah, the movie also presents the contrasting figures of Frollo and the Archdeacon. One member of the clergy who approaches Christianity the wrong way and one who does it the right way.

This is like the one movie I want to get a live action remake. If they modeled it after the stage version, that would be like the greatest thing.

I'm to be saddled by this misshapen...! Very well. As long as no one sees it ride me.

It is an incredibly Catholic movie, which is unusual for an American film.

Most American films that have heavy religious themes in the USA pull from a kind of vague protestantism, UNLESS it's a horror film or a movie about Italian or Irish gangsters.

>Most the Disney Princesses complain that their life of luxury is too boring and they want to see more
>Esmeralda is fine with the fact that she can afford a few scraps of bread at the end of the day, her only wishes are for the rest of her people to finally be shown some mercy
How is it that the best disney princess isn't even a princess?

>rhyming qualm with dame
I don’t care what Bob Pataki says, the L is not silent.

Live here, where?

Dear god the femboys in this board. Stop drinking onions and protect your border. Either that or go live in a migrant neighborhood or shut your sissy face.

Onions are a man’s drink.

what a nice guy, that archdeacon, leaving quasimodo in the abusive hands of frollo

What must he do?

Just so he's kept locked away where no one else can see. The belltower, perhaps. And who knows? Our Lord works in mysterious ways.

Even this foul creature may yet prove one day to be...
of use to me.

According to , drop that motherfucking gyplet in a well to protect the sanctity of Paris' people and culture. God needs to shut his sissy face with all that "Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not" shit.

And Frollo gave the child a crueel name, a name that means "half-formed".

>NO ONE'S
>RIGHT AS FROLLO
>GUARDS THE LIGHT AS FROLLO
>NO ONE TEACHES THE HOLY ONE'S MIGHT LIKE FROLLO

This movie portrays conservative ideas in the most retarded way. Who again is supporting post-birth abortion?

... King Solomon?

There is no religion on earth more masculine than Roman Catholicism, properly practiced.

>And Frollo gave the child a crueel name, a name that means "half-formed".
Moot!

Sure. So which conservative supports abortion?

God on a bad day.

Why are we talking about this again?

Yeah yeah no Christian gives a shit about the old testament. Let me ask a 3rth time the exact same question. Which conservative is pro-abortion. Just fucking say it already, the lefty open border supports abortion, there not so hard was it? Jesus.

Look guy, I have no idea what this even has to do with 15th century Paris or the Hunchback of Notre Dame or even Catholicism in film.

Did you lose an argument on /pol/ and decide to come here for more practice or something? Because it seems like you'd rather talk about modern day politics.

Donny Boy gave thousands to pro-choice groups and was pro-choice until the day Bannon told him it wouldn't help him in the primary fight.

He was anti-abortion from the beginning. I remember the interviews and speeches.

So is this what counts as subtly hijacking a thread on /pol/? Because it seems pretty blatant to me.

Shut your face child killing s o y boy.

>user tries to make the thread about today's politics
>other anons make fun of him with glib Bible references
>keeps trying to force specific political discussion
>finally gives up and starts arguing with himself

What, the one where he couldn't remember the difference between pro-choice and pro-life, and had to have Jake Tapper remind him?

This is still grossly off-topic from HBOND

Then why did he give so much money to child-killers?

Yeah I'm sure you heard some retarded propaganda on the media it's dying btw. CNN lost something like 30% of it's audience. Lala land is coming to an end.

>IN THIS THREAD NO ONE WILL BOTHER
>TO RECALL THE ARCHDEACON FROLLO
>BECAUSE THIS THREAD
>WILL BE MIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE

>A Religion that requires celibacy of its leaders.

>Masculine.

The entire church leadership is riddled with closeted homosexuals who take out their frustrations on little boys.

LIKE FIRE! HELLFIRE! THIS BURNING IN MY SKIN!

For there's no Judge in town half as pious,
A zealous and cruel paragon!

If you ask any Jean, Jacques, or Tomas:
They will tell you to fear he who can do no wrong!

>I HAVE SINFUL URGES
>THEY INCLUDE YOU!

And the scene with the more "well-off" citizens of Paris, praying for things that money cant buy; showing that they may have material but do not have the real "riches" of life, love and fulfillment. Things that Esmerelda and the gypsies have in spades.

Disney has a policy of not doing that. They didn't add any of the songs from Beauty and the Beast's stage version, except Home, which was reduced to an instrumental track on the score. The Lion King remake also won't borrow anything from the outrageously successful stage adaptation. It's fucking stupid.

Idol worshipping heathens.

OILLLLLL AND GRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME

Attached: CxP9.gif (250x150, 1018K)

you mean those guys who "amend" the ten commandments to forget about their wanton use of false idols?

Disney really put there all into this one. It feel like it was there last hurrah before the magic of Disney animation was lost. There are good thing after but truly no releases come close to the sheer power and majesty of this movie. It is also impressive just how much they got away with religiously and all the mentions of Hell. You could never get away with the contempt Frollo pours into his line "Im sending it back to Hell) in Bells, let alone the entirety of Hellfire.

I dont know there is a movie more honestly portrays the Catholicism in both its portrayals of it's positives and negatives. It shows the beauty of the faith and also how easily it is turned by those in powerful to justify their own selfish evil actions.

I was very much entranced by this movie as a child even though I clearly didnt get all of the adult themes, and yes while I did enjoy the gargoyles (Victor in particular) It's not like I didn't grasp the presence of darker themes on the movie. (Court of Miracles Clopin was probably my favorite scene as a kid) I think we greatly underestimate the ability of children to appreciate a more serious, darker story.

To think the only thing holding this movie back are the damn gargoyles, man this movie was just a real kicker everywhere else. Especially as someone who didn't really like musical numbers as a kid, man this movie changed my opinion on that.

I agree. They felt obligatory in a way that most cute sidekick characters in Disney films do not. It's as if they were thrown in because this is a kid's movie and we don't want things getting too dark, but that's the only substance they provide, and they didn't even do that all that well. We'd have been better off with just the goat and the horse and Clopin providing the comic relief and letting Quasimodo's initial isolation stand.

I disagree, I think they serve to emphasis Quasimodo's isolation and lack of human interactions. They provide something for him to talk to in his private moments as opposed to the Quasi talking to himself. Which is basically what he is doing, but in way that I suppose lets us see into his mind and the personalities he has invented for these "friends"

>no Christian gives a shit about the old testament
Unless they want to talk shit about gays.
