The only way it could be worse is if they decided to keep Sonic's stylized "One eye, two pupils" look that only works animated and tried to make that look realistic.

The design is objectively shit. I havent played a Sonic game in over a decade but its truly one of the worst. 2019 is chock full of bad CGI from Captain Marvel, Genie, Dumbo. The fuck.

Yep, the issue was never the head, but the body. You can't make his body look human, that wouldn't work.

That's the strange part; he doesn't even look like he needed CGI, it could be entirely recreated with an honestly real fur-suit. Are we sure they are using CGI? He looks like an unskilled cosplayer.
