Probably a bit too weird for the Academy.
I personally liked it, mostly because I like everything stop-motion, but I can't say I was blown away or anything.

Why was this appropriating? Who was this taking anything away from? Are you saying no person can write characters or settings outside of there own race?
It was racist for some reason.
I'm not saying that, the movie was great and I loved it. But there have been plenty of people making that claim and it would become a thousand times louder if it had gotten the award.
Oscars are a sham. I hope we all know that.
It wasnt groundbreaking, the story was mediocre, it was a weak wes anderson film.
The best thing it had going for it were the set pieces.
