They were consistently pretty shit as a couple, and about the only significant thing Jean has done for Scott after she came back was be the catalyst behind him fucking his whole life up by leaving Madelyne and his son to play superhero again. Say what you want about Morrison's depiction of the marriage in New X-Men, but the only real difference between that and prior depictions of it was that he at least acknowledged it was a dysfunctional, toxic mess.

Scott has a shit taste in women in general. The only person he should be fucking right now is Logan, and that's just to get the pent up frustration over and done with.

Chris Claremont cursed it.

Jean is a shitty character

Before the whole Phoenix event she was like the mom of the X-men and pretty likeable.

Scott is a shitty character

Jean is bland. Emma is pretty much her but actually interesting.

She has never been good outside of the original Phoenix stuff from 101 to 138. Tolerable is Jean's high point

Marvel(and DC) writers and editors hate the very concept of marriage and everything related to it because they're self-centered freaks who hate their own wives and families.

>Say what you want about Morrison's depiction of the marriage in New X-Men, but the only real difference between that and prior depictions of it was that he at least acknowledged it was a dysfunctional, toxic mess.

Over 30 years since X-Factor started and Madelynefags are still absolutely seething, but if you're that old, you cannot possibly believe Morrison and Whedon's revisionist history about Scott and Jean. Nobody was writing them as dysfunctional or toxic, and once Claremont left in 1991 there was nobody trying to force Jean/Logan.

>Emma is pretty much her but actually interesting.

Emma is a former villain who joined the X-Men but never stopped behaving like a villain, and they change to be more like her, subverting expectations that the ex-villain becomes a better person for being around heroes. It would probably have read better if it was planned and intentional and they knew when to stop before the X-Men had a death squad and became the villains in several different events.

fuck off Logan

Scott seemed happier with Emma than Jean tho

>before the X-Men had a death squad and became the villains in several different events.
I hope you're not implying the character of Emma is responsible for stuff like X-Force. That's all Wolverine and America's hard-on for black ops that make "hard choices" in which they kill everyone.

Scott and Emma are the superior couple.
Jean is a shit human and is destined to end up alone with the Phoenix Force as her only companion.

>Marvel(and DC) writers and editors hate the very concept of marriage and everything related to it because they're self-centered freaks who hate their own wives and families.

They insist that they can't allow stable, loving, happy married couples because there's no drama and every character's life must always be drama, even team books with massive casts can't be allowed to have a happy married couple. But there's a lot of truth to your statement. They can't show anyone being happy and successful because they can't imagine it being possible, and if it was possible, they'd have to think about their own lives, their own mistakes. So they try to destroy the very concept of happy, loving, stable couples, to reassure themselves that their own divorces and the pets they got as child-substitutes were the correct thing to do.

If they don't want her dead, Jean should become a cosmic character and moved to space.
With the Phoenix Force she's too overpowered to be interesting on Earth.
Without it, she's just another psychic with no extra gimmick.

Yeah, the X-men never killed before Emma joined up

Emma cheated on Cyclops with Namor.

>Scott seemed happier with Emma than Jean tho

You need to read X-Men from before Morrison. Also, most of the time Scott and Emma were together, nobody was happy about anything because they were struggling against extinction every day.

Because Jean Grey is fucking awful that’s why

Reminder that Scott straight up left his wife and child to try and pork some dead chick without a moment of hesitation

She's not directly responsible for X-Force, but her influence on Cyclops was responsible for him becoming a person who'd allow something like that.

For years they allowed her to abuse her telepathic powers on villains and civilians. They tolerated her to be openly mutant supremacist, and encouraging the same in children, and nobody cared because she wasn't a conquer the world kind of supremacist, just one who thinks she's better and laws and rules shouldn't apply to her. Even Magneto at least tries to change his ways when he's with the X-Men, until he joined in Fraction's run, because they'd already changed to be more like him. It's a slippery moral slope from just tolerating one of the team behaving like a villain with no consequences because she's sleeping with the boss, until one day you're all behaving like villains because it's getting results.

>Yeah, the X-men never killed before Emma joined up

Some of them had killed before, but there was a huge difference in the circumstances. Superhero comics routinely have heroes kill in battles in the heat of the moment either to protect others, or because there was no other way to stop a villain. Intentionally hunting down and executing anyone you consider an enemy is very different.

user, the X-Men are not real. They're written by people. X-Force was always going to happen because people loved violence and explosions, and Cyclops dancing the line between Xavier and Magneto was also going to happen because it was the more interesting path to take him through.

Go to hell Shooter

mind control, Emma loves and respects Scott more than anyone in the world

She slept with Namor later on again. This time without Unit mind-controlling her with pheromones,

Namorfag pls.

Le butthurt scemma shipper. Besides It is not like that adulterous ship wasn't a trainweck either.

It's almost like I said that Scott has shit taste in women in general, retard.

They hate marriage in general

Fuck Jean Grey everyone knows blondes have more fun

especially Emma

Man gay ass relationship drama went back to 90s X-Men too? Dang. Can it be that Marvel was always for onions?

X-Men has always been a soap opera

>Man gay ass relationship drama went back to 90s X-Men too?
It's been a thing since Claremont relaunched the books in the fucking seventies, user. It's about as fundamental a part of the franchise as the mutants themselves.

I hate them together. Jean is shit. Scott belongs with Emma

Scott is the worst
