The thing is Doomsday Clock feels so detach from the rest of the books that may as well be a completely different continuity.

So that "reveal" doesn't have any weight. This whole the government is behind all this accidents and many secondary characters are part of this conspiracy doesn't work.
This revelation should be the big thing happening right now in all the comics, it pretty much makes the entire history of DC a lie.
But its relegated to the B plot of a story that is probably going to be retconed by the end of issue 10.

It will be like Futures ends, where the set it up as the near future, but by that point some other writer will come up with a different direction and they'll quietly pretend this never happened.

Manhattan is messing with time and is erasing most of the heroes next issue. It's obvious at this point that it's all leading to a Superman Reborn style continuity tweak bringing back the JSA.
