Most of the funkiness around scheduling the LP recording and the "we have to stay on-topic and finish on-time" feeling of the podcast has completely evaporated without him in the picture. I'd say 1999 was one of the best years for film. Lot of my favorites are from that year.

It's actually pretty rare to meet people who are actually into comics.

Fuck it: I love Phantom Menace. As a kid, I loved the prequels. In my late teens, I decided I was cool so I "hated" them. Looking back, though, Attack of the Clones is largely unenjoyable. Revenge of the Sith was always the most respected of the prequels, and I understand the sentiment.

But for every goofy stupid fuck up it made, Phantom Menace still has this heart to it that I can never bring myself to hate. I think all the practical sets and props helped. For a film from 1999, a lot of the effects hold up surprisingly well. I sincerely think Qui Gonn and Obi Wan's rampage through the TF ship in the beginning is one of the best scenes in the franchise. Only gigantic faggots claim to hate the podracing scene.
