Pepper is my waifu

I don't get what is happening here.

She's wearing a bikini since they're at the lake, but Josie and Pepper think Melody is nude behind her large sketch pad.

Are you genuinely retarded?

How do you get into Josie and the Pussycats? Were they just part of Archie or their own thing?

Their own thing that crosses over occasionally, like Sabrina.
I'm pretty sure they go to a different school as well.

It depends on the comic.Sometimes Josie and the Pussycats go to the same school as Archie.

Sabrina's school is either in a nearby town or another part of Riverdale.

Yes, Alexandra IS best girl
Dude, you really want to go that route?

But think of all the pity sex.

The original book was basically it's own thing. They don't become Pussycats until issue 44 or so, but the early stuff is all classic Dan DeCarlo.

>The original book was basically it's own thing
They started to cross over in #36 I guess, probably earlier

Attached: jos36 009.jpg (1220x610, 367K)

Pretty sure because they were planning the TV show, they started to add and remove characters

Replay is mine and only mine

There's one more panel with Archie looking at Melody while Veronica drags him away. These are more cameo than crossover. I just flipped through a couple and from what I recall they didn't really continue the trend until maybe later in the series or in TV Laugh-Out.

Pepper was a weird situation. The writer made her a protester because that's what the kids were into. The publisher didn't like it and rather than just change her back they dropped her altogether. Clyde was a hippie, Alan M. was a folk singer that was just the usual Archie trend chasing.

When did they drop Pepper?

Is that Fred?

Around #44

Basically.

No

I feel bad for Hal.

Why not?

>That issue has not been scanned

is this show worth watching

youtube.com/watch?v=EEt3dKelbaU

I think I scanned it a while back but it's on my old dead computer.

It's your standard Scooby Doo ripoff except the bad guys are more like super villains than old man Jenkins.

I wish Archie would do a Josie or Sabrina omnibus, I'd like to read those early DeCarlo comics

Scooby-doo had supernatural villains too user

Both have been done.

Super, not supernatural. More like Bond villains.

They had those types of villains as well

Childhood is thinking Betty or Veronica is the question. Adulthood is realizing Samantha Smythe is the answer.

Black and white doesn't count

I would love a She's Josie collection in Black & White.
The only bad thing is that the first 44 issues are around 1350 pages, including the stories from the PEP and Laugh from that period of time, so they will probably have to make 3 volumes.
I made 2 TPBs with the scans one with the first 16 issues + PEP + Laugh (630 pages) and other with 17-44 (720 pages) I could probably make the same with the Pussycats issues once they scan all them

Best girl.

It pisses me off that Mok bailed on the last issue to do the Archie book.

Are they still cute in black and white?

I see you are a man of culture as well.

Yes
The TPBs I made are just the scans in separate folders and not in black & White

best is always Melody

How do I into archie comics? I like betty and veronica

He's gunna bang her up against the wall, isn't he?

Didn't the editor think Pepper was a Lesbian?

No idea why they'd think that!

Attached: Pepper is a man A MAN.png (598x292, 201K)

Literally who?

Blonde Super Strong tomboy who dated That Wilkins Boy.

That Wilkins Boy is a bunch of fun but since it never got a cartoon it's been relegated to the dustbins of history :-( Has any of the Wilkins characters appeared on Riverdale? Bingo and Jughead are cousins.

Attached: Hank Pym and Wanda.jpg (632x612, 127K)

is that a skunk on her head

She's just happy to see you! :-)

Is pep 61 the only That Wilkin Boy comic that's scanned? I could have sworn I read a bunch of Wilkin Boy comics here a while ago but can't find anything online right now.

The 52 issues are scanned, I've never read them tho

DAT ASS

Sweet, I haven't read That Wilkin Boy in forever.

DAT DRESS

Attached: RCO001(24).jpg (1077x1600, 695K)

I'm unironically all for this.
I wouldn't mind if they decided to make Melody a lesbian, it would add a fun spin to things.
Every guy in three towns that doesn't have a wedding ring will drop everything they're doing to watch her walk by, but she doesn't notice because she's she's too focused on trying to get Alex to stop being such a bitch to her best friend and go see a movie with her. Besides being an airhead.

Try the Archie horror line for something more modern. Afterlife with Archie, Chilling Tales of Sabrina, and Blossoms 666 are all great, even if Afterlife is on forever hiatus.
I also see there's Vampire Veronica, and Werewolf Jughead, haven't read those.

For something more grounded, Life With Archie/The Married Life is one of their books with a continuous story.
You especially will be interested in Betty & Veronica by Adam Hughes. Great story, lots of sexual tension.

And while you're waiting on any of those, you can always pick up a Digest next time you're at the grocery store.

mm. yeah i think ill leave it.

your loss

I don't mind B&W. All the better to appreciate deCarlo's art.

Don't know if this is a different collection or just a different cover.

Archie vs Punisher
Archie vs Predator

Alexandra has black hair with a white lightning-bolt shaped stripe running through the middle of it, giving her ponytail a slight impression of a skunk's tail. In contrast to the good-natured girls in the Pussycats, Alexandra is cynical, hateful, mean, offensive, rude, envious, scheming and self-centered. She is insanely jealous of the Pussycats, especially Josie, about whom she never has a kind word. Despite having no vocal or musical talent at all, Alexandra desperately wants to be a star; her conditions for joining the Pussycats were that she be made the lead and that the band be renamed Alexandra's Cool Time Cats. Her absence of musical talent is on display at the end of the episode "Swap Plot Flop", when she gets the chance to front her own act; Alexander is particularly distressed by the performance.

Sebastian is a tuxedo cat, and Alexandra's sidekick. In the comics, Sebastian is the reincarnation of Sebastian Cabot, a witchcraft-practicing ancestor of the Cabot family. Alexandra finds that, by holding Sebastian in her arms, she can cast powerful magic spells (Alexandra and Sebastian's bond is represented in that they both have a matching white stripe in their middle of their hair/fur). However, this plot device was seldom used and was eventually dropped. Alexandra was later shown to be able to cast spells on her own. In the cartoon, Alexandra and Sebastian do not have magic powers but they still have their white stripes.

Was there any crossover between these and the DeCarlo-style Millie the Model comics?

what is this from

Is this for real?

How can a dress be so conservative and so slutty at the same time?

That's from the animated series, episode "Melody Memory Mix-Up", the same one that gave us this gem.

I need to check, but as far as I know, those are pretty different, this is only 100 pages and this includes Bennet's #1 and one Riverdale issue in a 400 pages book

I'm not the only who doesn't like Jose and the Pussycats, am I? She's Josie was better in almost every way. Pepper is an actual character while Valerie is... Black. That's her entire personality, bland black girl. They also turned it into a Scooby Doo rip-off.

I'll take Femi-nazi Pepper over minority-hiring Val any day!

Why did this shit get a live action movie?

The Josie and the Pussycats was actually one of the FEW Josie and the Pussycats thing that was cool. As a parody of MTV it's great! IMO, if it had come out 1 or 2 years later it would have been a hit!

Is it even possible to be as based as Jughead

One can aspire.

Attached: Jughead- k as fuck.jpg (1054x1546, 346K)

I remember Val being just the dickish side of Pepper without any likable trait or good story in the original run

It was based on the cartoon and not in the comics

Great!

From 57-68 they included a supernatural/horror type story that was usually featured on the cover.

I always thought of Valerie as black Pepper.

>but i dont like the short form joke format
There are exceptions but the old core Archie titles tend to be 5 or 6 page stories with gag pages or pin-ups here and there. In Josie a bunch of the early books are full length stories split into chapters.

To be fair, Bikini's were gaining popularity in the 60's and 70's, and werent extremely common when this comic came out
