She probably had powers, or it had to do with her jewelry. They're putting a lot of focus on those bangles on her wrist, both during her death and in her picture.

Silk is way too old.

One of her key traits is that she's all about helping the little guy and dealing with small-time shit. That's why she left the Avengers - she wanted to stop focusing on the big stuff, and work with the people directly. The Champions was formed around that, and she was at the center of this.

She's also the team mom, always lurking in the shadows to give people advice or comfort them. She hasn't done much to show that she's a particularly great leader, but she's at least able to connect with others.

I think that's one of the reasons I liked having Cyclops on the team; they both had different styles of leadership that were both viable. Kamala leads with empathy and inspiration, Scott leads with discipline and focus.

If Magneto's attack made everyone afraid of mutants, why didn't it make them paranoid of other super-powered heroes? How come they didn't just assume he was just another super-villain rambling on about delusions of grandeur? How come there isn't a significant sect of bigots who want to kill all super-heroes? Just because Captain America was good shouldn't automatically mean that everyone with superpowers is good. It should be impossible for anyone to tell the difference between a mutant and a metahuman. The only thing telling them the difference are the heroes actions, alleged backstories on their origins, and Sublime.

Sure, people hate Spider-man and Hulk; and at times they will turn on certain superhero teams. But that's only because of their actions, not because of what they are or represent. The public will still support other superheroes while hating others. Meanwhile, if a mutant blows up a car, everyone will hold every single mutant responsible for it.

Also, there's no need to be hostile. I'm all for having a real conversation about how mutant hate works in 616. I've always wanted to discuss it with someone knowledgeable.
