It was nice to see an episode where Lucy is genuinely happy, and the drama wasn't really on her more of the mom. Double points for them adding Haiku.

Just finished up last night's Lucy episode. Where her and her mom hug in the car was wholesome as fuck.

I liked the Lucy episode (The Write Stuff) well enough.

The Luna episode (Racing Hearts) while nothing I'd call super spectacular - especially knowing that hack Kevin Sullivan wrote it, turned out pretty much fucking better than I hoped.

So yeah - that's 2 out of 4 new episodes I enjoyed, so far. And I don't see the next 2 coming close to being as good - even if Luan being put in a vulnerable role and not being a 1D prankster cunt is promising enough in its own right...

Lucy only she’s a dorky nerd like lincoln would be cute and wholesome. Difference being she’s depressed rather than eccentric like lincoln.

Who doesn't? She could stand to smile more. She can still be herself, but there's NOTHING fucking wrong with smiling.

There really isn't; and she has such a nice one too, it'd be a shame to not show it.

Racing Hearts was fun. The main plot was a little repetitive (the biggest problem with Sullivan episodes in my mind), but the other sisters and side characters helped to break things up and add some laughs. I think my favorite thing in the episode was the mayor and her keyboard.
One of the things I was a little nervous about with Sam was that the writers would just make her Luna 2.0 and spend all their efforts propping up a brand new character instead of fleshing out the one they've got, so I imagined an episode like this going much worse. I still would have liked to have seen one or two more Luna activities.
Props to Ari Castleton who boarded the episode. There were a bunch of scenes that really stood out to me along with some nice body language that kept things from looking stiff.

That episode where luna and sam find jesus christ and learn that homosexuality is wrong. They reform their degenerate ways and marry good christian men. White christan men. And they have many white children and definitely do not adopt black and asian kids.

Luan is a cutie so I'm excited for her episode.

Pretty much this -- despite some valid criticism you've given here, this may be Sullivan's best work - especially for a character like Luna and a newcommer like Sam. And keeping in mind how much I like Luna (unlike Yea Forums), I only expect her (and Lucy, like with yesterday) to get the best of episodes and nothing less.

5/10 for me. Luna and Sam having nothing in common seems strange given we know they have interacted with multiple episodes showing it. The plot wasn't shit but too plain and very paint by numbers that it felt rushed with the things Sam being into just being told to us really. The side characters had more interesting events with Lynn and her involvement with this hunt both past and present, us seeing lisa not be a bitch and actually have fun with Darcy, the side joke of leni and lori. It's like Sullivan just made the episode without thinking about how it ties in or makes sense. That and neurotic Luna just ain't cutting it. She's acting too much like Lincoln then her own character and it feels forced for the plot sake. The animation was good and I think really loud music help kick start that since everything after has felt more lively.

I would've enjoyed this episode far more if they didn't leak the fucking ending in a preview they released around a week prior to its airing.

I think it's because Sam was originally just supposed to be a one-shot character. By the time Love Letters aired and they decided to make another Sam episode, the entire rest of the season and most of season 3 had already been finished.

If Sam had originally planned to be a recurring character, Racing Hearts would have aired later in season 2 and it'd be more believable that less time had passed between the two episodes.

Then again, this show had 3 April Fool's specials, so the time is all wonky.
