What's going on here?

Attached: 1550936401640.jpg (450x464, 81K)

YAWN
Let me know when they do Great Expectations with lesbo ducks

This one?

Attached: 1547667651847.jpg (1280x720, 93K)

You might want to ask Ducktales to make that one

Is it fully translated?

I don't think so.

OK.

>no link
>no storytime

what's the purpose of this thread ?

Pride and Prejudice is unironically a good love story

Eh. Just find bits and pieces.

modmad.tumblr.com/post/181425349640/ducktalefan1-pride-and-prejudice-comic-i

Based human duck tickler

Can someone post the full thing and maybe some based translator can get in in English? That's happened before with Duck comics

I don't know where the whole thing is. I'm a noob.

Thanks.

That was just part 1. The other parts are in Topolino 3293 and 3294

Thanks again.

If that's your upload account, is there any chance you could upload 3036 and 3037?
Recently read a swedish version of "Topolino e le voragini enigmatiche" and would very much like to have a digitial version of it as well(they don't offer duck/mouse comics digitally here).

>rape

Readable in digital form, that is. Always easy to put an album where I can't find it.

Not mine sorry.

Kinda suspected as much, no worries mate.

BTW, this issue also has the first(IIRC) official confirmation Paperetta(Dickie) is Goldye's granddaughter, not niece(both are "nipote" in Italian, causing confusion)

She's really dang cute in that story, looked at it on Issuu.

made a mega

Pride and Prejudice is already pretty cute.

See this is why I am bound and determined to learn at least one other language. There is way too much awesome stuff out that that I am missing out on because I can only understand Amerifat.

Why is Donald confessing love to one of Daisy’s neices?

Are you joking, user?

My heart can't handle these two.

A duck comic thread, it's been too long.

That is Daisy, she is just wearing a different color bow.

Attached: 37.png (2234x2988, 2.79M)

It's gonna be a mouse comic thread, soon.

Attached: mickey has a gun.png (329x362, 285K)

I never got around to reading it, but Is the main character in Pride and Prejudice supposed to be a Loli? Because this Daisy looks at least 10 years younger, which is wierd considering Donald still looks relatively the same.

No, in the book she's 20.

Then I am even more confused by this Daisy.

Probably because of the small bill. She's around Donald's height.

Attached: {F22C0317-40A6-4B59-8284-1C8F61DC8747}.png.jpg (559x457, 101K)

It's probably just Turconi's style.
He draws Daisy with slightly bigger eyes and smaller bill than a lot of other artists.
I like it.

Attached: Turconi.png (1114x1489, 1.76M)

That's okay too. I like em all.

Cutest artist, except for Silvia Ziche.

Attached: 36789e66-8026-4225-8174-45b4b4488ecb.jpg (761x920, 88K)

Huh, have not seen this artist before that I know of. Gonna have too keep an eye out for Daniela Vetro.

>End of 2018
No wonder it isn't yet I thought It was years old

There's still hope!

Ah, so she used to be a WITCH artist who occasionally did some Duck comics and has gone full duck now that WITCH ended. That explains a lot.

Attached: Vetro.jpg (736x948, 146K)

I just realized today that if Cavazzano stays active three more years, then he'll have drawn Donald Duck for 60 years.
Purely in terms of art-style, he might be he single most influential duck artist after Barks.

Yea that duck butt
Would she be the rich one or the poor one?

Poor.

Webby is very clearly the rich one

Is Webby rich? She just lives in Scrooge's mansion because her grandmother works for him.

It's nice that Dickie has started to make a comeback in the comics.
Vito Stabile, we thank you.

Attached: Donnie.png (887x898, 266K)

She herself not exactly yet, though her grandmom probably gets paid decent. But she is living in the mansion of the richest duck who considers her a niece because he's that fond of her, so she has the advantage over Magica's shadow

Lena has no income and no actual home(she's a squatter). She would very obviously be the poor one no matter Webby's potential wealth.

Best Hamlet

Say, how did WITCH end exactly?

Went from having concrete arcs to having standalone stories, then had a weakly written arc called the Elemental Sovereigns at the end, and they get a Voltron Guardian for them to use for some reason.

Oh yes, the giant mecha Will.

wtf

Attached: SIXTAR STARES INTO YOUR SOUL.jpg (900x1374, 356K)

This series went out on a whimper. The final issue also has a highlight moment of Will using her new power of sight to spot a girl flirting with Matt and throwing cake at her... all the way from Kandrakar. And this was supposed to be the send off to our now much more mature heroes. 100% Witch and after threw all the growth the characters had gone into a bin and replaced them with 9-year olds.

Attached: Cake Throw.jpg (900x1278, 384K)

SECOND best Hamlet

Attached: jamestown.gif (607x250, 2.26M)

Because April x Donald is cute.

>Dickie X Fethry

I thought i couldn't see anything crazyer than Dickie X Gyro but it seems I was wrong.

I don't know Italian what do.

Wait for translation. Or read Jane Austen.

Quack Pack? I still remember that one episode where Donald thought his nephews were involved with some shady stuff when in reality they were actually trying to get him presents for his birthday.

wrong translation: she calls him Uncle in the Italian original

Man, she sure was a looker.

Magica?

yes(her Italian name is Amelia)

Attached: 33.png (2234x2988, 3.29M)

Hot
Though actual question: Will Scrooge give her a cut given he literally considers her a niece

Second lesson tomorrow

Maybe, If he ever dies. Scrooge is practically immortal.

Yea Forums teaches a language through duck comics

I could try to translate, if someone else storytimed it

my language knowledge is rusty as hell, but i'd try, italian duck comics are quality content

to be fair, Italian Disney comics are mostly written in standard Italian, with very little accents or slang(unlike the US comics), so they are usually suggested to people who want to learn Italian

Maybe I'll storytime Pride and Prejudice.

would be nice, I'll keep an eye on this thread then

It would be another thread tomorrow.

You're a saint

Weren't there also a couple of strips in this same time period with Donald Duck and Reginella going out and Daisy getting jealous and trying to get revenge?

Anyone know if the newer multi-parter "Il Conte di Anatrtham" is based on anything in particular?

Sweet!

some pop singer, apparently
donaldduck.nl/bladzijde-45/1837toerlijst/
"In Donald Duck Weekblad a little monkey comes out of the sleeve: Kwik, Kwek and Kwak are all three hopelessly in love with singer Dotje Lala, known from the hits 'Krak says my heart' and 'I like you li-la-leukie'. Are you a fan too? Here you see where she will occur in the coming period"

kwik kwek and kwak are huey dewey louie

I'm not a fan of the celeb cameos but if they MUST exist I don't get why the northern books don't manage to pull them off like the Italians do
Their cameos often at least look like they're fitting characters while the Dutch/Nord/whatever stuff just looks creepy

is she a parody of a specific celebrity?

just a random extra from a stand alone comic that the website used for a small article

Attached: tumblr_nvv9b2rHaW1t1nkngo1_1280.png (472x466, 330K)

Doesn't seem so, but it's common for them to use specific celebrities as cameos

Attached: de_ltbro_04a_001.png (491x731, 511K)

and to show my point, when the Italians do it it's still obviously a bit ill-fitting but it at least works a bit better

Attached: taglioAlta_001311.jpg (600x900, 137K)

Why not just make them a dognose? Birds with ears look weird.

Attached: A88ECEE5-2620-4145-A9A2-F3C80B4A385D.png (592x592, 210K)

Probably because Barks did birds with ears and the Northern European tradition is to furiously masturbate themselves while thinking how great a job they're doing of aping Barks. Like, it was a specific editorial initiative decades ago of specifically copying Barks and using Barks stuff over anything else as much as possible.

It's funny, Goofy's is very ridiculous but while I find Mickey attractive as a whole Mickey really pulls of the girl outfit to an attractive level that looks like it could be Minnie

How come Daisy's nieces don't appear in animation much? They were great in Legend of the Three Caballeros

Too similar to the nephews?

Their role is usually filled by Huey Dewey and Louie, the way more famous and more associated with Donald. Doesn't leave them for much
It seems they were picked for LOT3C because they wanted to go off the beaten path picking characters to fill the roles and the nephews would remind too much of Ducktales. They were a perfect choice for what they wanted to do

the nephews are closer to donald and more well known
ducktales created webby and was pretty much the girl replacement for them there
and they are more closely related to daisy usually and daisy herself doesn't really get much focus in animation

same in the comics

outside the dutch comics. they don't appear too often

But that's not form Quack Pack.
youtube.com/watch?v=G9JR7QtJicc

Bear in mind that "20" practically meant "holy shit she's old, how hasn't she gotten a husband yet? There must be something wrong!". Making Daisy look younger is REALLY perplexing.

Also, you really should get around to reading it. If only to experience the sheer savagery of Mr. Bennet.

I've wanted to better my French through comics for years, but I've never found any that actually help because there's too much focus on wordplay and accents.

you has no idea that dialogue are edited with vulgar terms, right?.

I actually grew up reading Thorgal, Tintin, Lucky Luke, Asterix etc translated into Swedish. But whenever I've checked out some issue in French it's just been way above my capabilities. Perhaps I'm simply trying to run before I can walk, I am learning French entirely from Duolingo after all. I had just hoped I could learn French while looking at the pictures, the same way reading comics helped me learn to read as a kid.

Attached: BC0A34A5-E8B9-4B47-8095-2F0955856ABB.jpg (1800x1291, 545K)

Yeah I know. I am thinking about pre-ordering it on Amazon.

Holy shit how did I not know this was coming out, I've been here often for these threads and knew about just about everything else that's been out
$50 is a bit but for the full 40s comics of these fuckers I love it's worth it

Attached: C-8279c.jpg (1600x1237, 278K)

>Panchito and Donald short never ever

You mean just those two and not Jose? I really want that now, what would the plot be?

I think it'd depend on old macho gunslinger Panchito or dopey wrestler Panchito.
Donald brawling in a mexican bar with Panchito could be fun as a neutral thing. Or something a bit more altruistic like defending a small village or caravan where Panchito is a people's hero. Cattle ranching might work as a comedy based idea. Or if Panchito comes to America you could play with his wrestling bit and have a tagteam with Donald for a prize.

I would like a bar fight where Panchito is "I'll low- key fight you" and Donald is "I'll high-key fight you"
Donald is going in strong and all out but kinda failing due to his angry outrage, while Panchito is having a ball and mostly doing all of the real fighting and defeating everyone in the bar. In the end Donald is happy thinks its his doing that they won, while Panchito is just happy to brawl with a bro.

They'd be on the same team and not fighting each other right

of course, birds of a feather won't fight each other.

Unless some Latin baby says yes, no, or maybe. Then it’s each man is for himself!

duck threads are best threads

Donald is a gay vampire from twilight?

Yes, Daisy and Brigitta wrote a book.

Yes, and Fethry is the coven leader.

This page is golden for reaction images.

The funny thing is even with the lyrics not even then, they search for the babes together and help Donald try to get one
They are too much of best bros to let a whore break them up

Wasn't there a comic with Panchito and Jose having a gun fight over a girl though?

Yes that was a whole comic arc in the 40s. They are so out of character (Panchito goes from being a goofy sweetheart to wanting to kill people) though that it's mostly ignored as someone who didn't understand the characters but just used them

Panchito wins the fight against the other bar goets, Donald wins the fight against the Bar itself and accidentally tears the whole thing down with his unrestrained rage.

youtube.com/watch?v=BKDSAizLh-M

They are lucky Donald calmed down and didn't destroy the entire known universe

>Donald wins the fight against the Bar itself
>Donald was just trying to get some water
>Panchito hands him a glass
>best bros for life

Cute.

He actually caused a Multiverse collapse as Duck Avenger, once. Endless realities... Dead!
As far as I know, it was never reversed.

There was also that time he almost awakened not-Cthulhu.

I'm more amazed Donald can afford a ritzy location to eat for all of them.

He must have uncharacteristically saved for this occasion. Either that, or he and the boys wrenched it out of Scrooge’s hands as paymet for services rendered on another one of his expeditions.

Man I remember seeing an entire book full of these exact same short comics in my local library around 2005 and I forgot to return it for like a year.

he must have saved up for it to impress daisy

typical small comics for the back of the weekly magazine
never got a collection of them here sadly

Official holy trifecta of best Yea Forums comfy threads:
Duck threads (of various types: comics, T3C, ect)
Oswald threads
Theme park threads

a good lesson to learn sometimes

Genuinely the only reason I come here anymore. I usually don't check out theme park threads but now I will, thanks user.

Removing the artist names is shit, but otherwise I'd rather have tons of stories for a relatively cheap price than an overpriced magazine with some cheap gimmicks. And who gives a shit about covers?

>Don't reply to Daisy
>Ignore Daisy
>Don't associate with Daisy

Most of the time really.

Who knows maybe April, May and June are footing the bill after their lucrative girlscout cookie sales.

Don Rosa made the right choice locking the series in the '50s. The other option is to just make Scrooge immortal and that feels off in settings with less magic than the two Ducktales shows.

But Dickie is a cute! a cute!

Really, this author even makes Soapy Slick a cute!

or you stop being autistic about that considering it's talking ducks and just accept it's set in a bizarre magical eternal present day, come on

>Setting has x elements that, while not analogous to reality, are still explained as either exceptional and extraordinary, or as setting quirks with no effect on any other previously assumed rules or conceptions of it.
>This means that all taken for granted rules and paterns should be assumed to go out the window just cause
Why do people keep using this argument as if it held water?

Attached: 1852FD7B-75F4-4158-9A50-7ED333FD749A.jpg (400x666, 49K)

>Don Rosa made the right choice locking the series in the '50s.
Barks himself considered Rosa's slavish detail orientedness a clear issue with him and he was mostly right. Unlike Rosa, his stories were never particularly bothered with correct dating.
A sliding timescale was also pretty much always employed until one guy decided that after 50 years of comics with a sliding time scale, it shouldn't have one.
Rosa's stories work in his own system because that's how he made it.
The oddity is Ducktales 2017 because it tries to meld the sliding timescale with more clear dating.

Barks also never had to deal with correct dating because the times did not change in ways that would drastically affect what he wrote about.

The sliding timescale only works when there aren't specifics. Ben "The Thing" Grimm being in the military works. He's been in ww2, Korea, Vietnam, and secret military wars that we never knew about.

Specific details like Scrooge being a Sourdough in the Klondike doesn't work on a sliding timeline. Scrooge's backstory is too specific to work. You either need to just not deal with Scrooge's past and have a sliding timeline or deal with Scrooge's origin and have a specific timeline. Unfortunately, some of Scrooges best stories specifically reference him being a Sourdough.

Was Scrooge a Sourdough in the 80's Ducktales? I want to say he was just a generic miner. If you do the research there's not really any other time period for Scrooge to be a successful gold miner except during the Klondike times but a) nobody is actually going to do the research and b) maybe in the Ducktales timeline there were other goldmines that existed at the age-appropriate time.

Attached: Glittering Goldie and Unca Scrooge.jpg (731x542, 53K)

wow she cute

I mean, he DID write for about 20 years at the very least. Stuff like the amount of Christmases they go through, HDL not aging, or the random story where Duckburg's just a sci-fi city out of nowhere with rockets and space stations would've absolutely been issues of correct dating were he not rightfully taking these characters as compelling cartoon ducks but cartoon ducks none the less

Attached: carl-barks-uncle-scrooge-29.png (620x565, 699K)

exactly
A Rosa-esque timeline's utterly ruined by this story unless you just assume every story after it has this Flash Gordon-esque future sci-fi going on right off panel and we just don't see it

>Specific details like Scrooge being a Sourdough in the Klondike doesn't work on a sliding timeline.
It didn't technically work with Barks original timeframe either. For all his Barks purism, Rosa had to retcon the time period:
>But there was still one Barksian fact I had to ignore -- the original story said that $crooge obtained the loan in 1898 which would have been too late to have allowed him to take part in the gold rush -- all the gold land was claimed by then.

She is.

Attached: Dickie1.png (368x598, 359K)

>or the random story where Duckburg's just a sci-fi city out of nowhere with rockets and space stations would've absolutely been issues
Not really. That was already mentioned to be exceptional beyond it’s time.

These girls be crazy. RIP.

The first episode produced for the '87 series was Back to the Klondike so he was part of that Gold Rush even back then.

Scrooge being over a hundred years old wasn't really all that weird in the show though seeing as how just greed and willpower along kept El Capitan alive since the 1500s.

That just required pushing it back a year or two. Which really seems unnecessary anyway since Scrooge was mining in an isolated area well outside of the normal gold fields.

A duck comic just taught me that Judge Roy Bean wasn't just a Paul Newman cowboy movie character.

duck comics teaching all

>That just required pushing it back a year or two.
Hence my "technically". It's a very minor caveat.

Now imagine Quackmore and Hortense concieving Donald and Della.

- Chawton Cottage, Hampshire, England, 1812.
- Take a seat, Martha! I made some tea and baked an apple pie: I look forward to a long afternoon of reading...
- Oh, Jane, I love your sweets just as much as your stories!
Panel 2
- What's it about this time?
- Martha Lloyd, you're my best friend...
Panel 3
- ... And you're 10 years more experienced than me!

Panel 5

- Uhm... enticing start!
Panel 6
- My dear, you've already drawn me in!
- Good, because it's a work in 3 volumes!
- I thought of naming it "First Impressions" but, after completing its draft, I think a better name might be...

Put the whole thing in a pastebin and just link it to me if you run out of time. That way you can edit it whenever you do find the time, and I can go there for the next page everytime.

I may also do grammar/spelling fixes if I spot something off, is that alright with you?

Panel 1
- ...it's been lodged, girls! For the whole summer!
Panel 2
- By an amazingly wealthy duck from Northern England, Mr. Bingpap!
- Calm down, sister: what are you talking about?
Panel 3
- I'm talking about the Netherfield Park estate, Elvira! It's so close to us that we could reach it by foot!
Panel 4
- We should arrange a date between that Bingpap... and yes, either Jane or Elizabeth would be perfect for him!
Panel 5
- You don't even know what he looks like!
- But I do know how large his assets are!
Panel 6
- 4 or 5 thousand pounds per year, my dear! A dreamy sum!
- Exactly! Now come back to earth and pass me the flour...

I've never used pastebin but I'll try, sure.

Please do, I dream of becoming a professional translator in the future, I'll gladly take any help I can get!

Nice.

Gonna take this one up here because I'm not sure myself, but I believe it should be "at the farm", not in.

Ooh. Do I dare?

My collection and I would appreciate it. Also, please post them here, the "storytime" is done, for lack of a better word. I don't want to give tumblr my consent to spy on me and finding them with a bypasser is a chore.

Posting one of my favorites since my only duck themed one can't be posted on a christian board.

- Are you still practicing for that cooking contest? You've been doing it for months!
- We're almost done, Aunt!
Panel 2
- Lidya's perfecting a super secret recipe!
- Well... it's just that... I'm not sure if...
Panel 3
- The win could cut down some months of our back rent...
- and you said I was the illuded one....
Panel 4
- Elvira, you should take the first step with bingpap, and give him a welcome!
Panel 5
- Cake's ready!
- And it looks gorgeous!
Panel 6
- Oh, it's your "apple pie of special occasions"!
- Well, I was thinking of knocking down the young Bingpap...
Panel 7
- ... through his sense of taste!

About this last sentence, I wasn't too sure. I hope the meaning is clear, she's basically saying she wants to delight him with her special cake. Also, if you've read some vanilla stories with Elvira, you'll find that this is actually an in-universe reference about how she has a special occasions cake ready whenever a story she takes part in ends well.
Oooh right! You're absolutely right, I think I got distracted or something.

Panel 3
- Not as much as he was enraptured by Jane's beauty and kindness! They met some time later...
Panel 4
- "During a crowded party at Meryton!"
- Did you see? It's the Longbourn's ladies!
- Bridget Pennet never misses a social event!
- She hopes for a beneficial engagement for one of her older nieces!
- After all, the younger ones have much different priorities...

- You're right, Chiqui...
Panel 3
- ... no matter that the others find him devastating! Hee, Hee!
Panel 4
- You know anything about the 2 accompaining him? They look so different from Fethry!
- That's Amelia, Bingpap's older sister...

- But Elizabeth, her younger sister, is just as alluring!

Panel 2

- Right! A duck so unpleasant...
Panel 3
- That it would be a disgrace to be appreciated by him!
Panel 4
- Uff! It's about time this torture was over!
- A parade of rude country people with no elegance!
- Ha, what an evening!
Panel 6
- Fun people and cute girls! Right, sis?

Panel 1

Panel 2
- Of course, she didn't miss his and Amelia's air of superiority, and yet..
- ... she was happy to learn that Fethry's sister desired, some days later, to meet Jane again...
Panel 3
- Meet her again?
- Yep! Maybe Amelia, just like Duckcy, wanted to learn more about her...
Panel 4
- Or maybe she meant to study her brother's relationship on a second date!
- Maybe? You should know of your characters' motivations!
Panel 5
- It's true! But it's of no importance here!
- What matters is that the two of them met again, and again...
Panel 6
- ... And Fethry's fondness for Jane was ever more clear!
- And what about Elizabeth?

Panel 4
- You're thinking about how you look forward to going back to the city!
Panel 5
- Not at all!
Panel 6

- How mysterious! What could he mean by that?
- The best way to spite him would be to not inquire about it!
Panel 2
- I don't wish to spite the good Mr Duckcy at all!
- And I don't mind telling you the meaning behind my claim!
Panel 3
- You could have some secrets you want to trust and, in that case, my presence would be indiscreet...
Panel 4
- ... Or maybe you're aware of the fact that movement makes one more inclined to look at you...
Panel 5
- ... In which case, I'd rather be looking at you from here in my comfort!

Panel 2
- Miss Bingbong, confess: what's his weakness?
- Alas, I fear he has none!
Panel 3
- Mr Duckcy is serious, calm, loyal, a man of integrity! Plus he's handsome and rich...
- Do you mean to say he doesn't have faults?
Panel 4
- Pity! I like to laugh.
- You're wrong, miss Pennet! I do have weaknesses!
Panel 5

Panel 4
- ... It's his cousin Piccolins!

Panel 5
- Never heard of him!
- He's this farm's landlord!

Panel 6

Panel 3

Panel 4

Panel 6

And this is it for the first part, I think I'll rest now... Hope I didn't make too many mistakes and you enjoyed your read.
Looks good, user!

Attached: 41.png (2234x2988, 2.88M)

>I look forward to a long afternoon of reading
The original translates to "a long afternoon of reading stands before us/awaits us" though

I tried to make it sound more like something someone would actually say in an informal situation, the meaning is basically the same, isn't it?

How come Italians are so good at making Duck comics? Even Don Rosa, the greatest American Duck comic writer, was Italians. Is it something in their blood or what?

"a long afternoon of reading awaits us"
That particular reading works pretty well and might actually be ideal.
I agree, but I think it's supposed to be a bit formal because old=formal is a pretty common way to handle things, and this is supposed to be an 1800s character.

I'll make a page with the alternate translation but keep both around. Sound good to both of you?

A

You're probably right. Sure you can keep both or just the other one user made, I don't mind

Look forward implies a stronger indication that she enjoys reading her works to her friend, while she seems a bit unsure about her skills if anything

>little sum
Cospicua is 'considerable'
By the way you're doing pretty good overall, going by this thread at least half a dozen of native speakers came by but (as expected by Italians) all of us were too lazy to actually start doing a proper translation so godspeed user

Picollins isn't Bingpap's cousin.
It's THEIR cousin

you're right, hope typesetter user fixes that in. Thanks user
Ooh is that right? Makes sense, yeah. The way Elvira says it doesn't make it too clear, she didn't say "nostro cugino" so I thought he was related to Bingpap seeing as they were talking about him. I'm sorry for the mistake

>It's so close to us that we could reach it by foot!
"You could walk there/get there by walking" or something similar
>We should arrange a date
It's simply "meeting"

>and you said I was the illuded one....
Better 'losing myself in reverie/daydreaming etc'
>Cake's ready!
It's a pie

>for one of her older nieces!
Shouldn't it be grandnieces?
>Jane Pennet, the older one...
*eldest

Thanks for the corrections user. I think it's nieces, grandniece would be "pronipote". In Italian we use the same word for pie and cake (torta), I didn't even notice..

I'm paying attention guys. Sorry I can't really help much, but we don't learn much italian here in Sweden.

As a sidenote, while I will use the english names and not the italian, some of the names are a bit questionable:
Bingpap is easy, I can just use Bingduck.
Chiqilotte is one of the hardest, I should clearly base it on Clara Cluck. Claralotte doesn't sound great but it is what I'm gonna have to do.

thanks, translator friend

Claralotta sounds amazing though
no prob, hopefully I'll have some free time to translate part 2 tomorrow

Quick correction:
"Mrs" means a married woman. The Pennet/Bennet girls are unmarried, so it should be "Miss" for Jane and Elizabeth, Mrs Bennet/Pennet would be their mother. Sort of like the difference between signora and signorina.

But nice work otherwise!

sameanon

And I understand it can be confusing because the way to pronounce "Mrs", 'missus', is very similar to "misses", or the way to refer to several Miss whatevers ("Here are the misses Bennet"), but yeah still, I notice it's a consistent error and not just one typo.

But once again other than that thanks a lot, I'm enjoying reading it

>- ...it's been lodged, girls!
I don't understand this line in the context. Anyone explain it to me?

My mistake, it should've been "rented", she's talking about how Bingpap moved to Netherfield Park.
Thank you user

>We should arrange a date
>It's simply "meeting"
I'm gonna use "rendezvous". same meaning and flows better.

>Anons translating a duck comic for the passion of it
>Everyone helping each other in the translations

>he doesn't have faults?
there's nothing that could provoke laughter?

>I don't forget insults
I can't forget offences

Should be noted that Picollins is wordplay on Pico, Ludwig's name in Italian -so a translation would need be some amalgamation of Ludwig von Drake and Collins too

Now that I think of it, shouldn't an attempt at translating Pennet be made as well? The Italian has a pun on the original Bennet + "penne" = feathers

Thanks for the corrections. I didn't think of changing the names mainly because I've never read pride and prejudice and I thought they sounded good in Italian. Of course Gastone would be Gladstone and Amelia would be Magica but seeing as the italian version already adapted Paperoga's character as Fethry (his international name) and Paperino as Donald I thought the names were fine

"Gaston" sound neutral and dignified enough that they wouldn't bother to change it, unlike 'Paperoga' which would sound alien to P&P. Yet "Gaston" in stead of Gladstone immediately evokes The Beauty and the beast to an Americlap's ears. Your translation's mostly fine though so let me repeat myself and say you did a good job
Also I forgot the last two pages

>Judging from that look... yes! And they didn't like each other!
Suggestion "... they did! And like each other, they did not"
>Curiosity tortured Elizabeth for a good couple of days, during which she met many times with Mr Wickham!
Elizabeth was tormented by curiosity for quite some days, during which her meetings with Mr Wickham would increase

>His dislike and envy of my good luck or good looks...
His dislike of me, moved by his envy of my...

They don't call themselves Three Gay Caballeros for nothing.

Thank you again user

Who's that character? Never seen her before in comics.

>Now that I think of it, shouldn't an attempt at translating Pennet be made as well? The Italian has a pun on the original Bennet + "penne" = feathers
I thought of this as well, but struggled to come up with a workable name
I could see it just being made Duckett in an official translation, but I'm trying to think of something better.

Greta Ingebrethsen. Seemingly a one time character(sadly) who appeared in 2014(in the original italian). The story she's in just recently was published in Germany and Scandinavia.
She's a swedish member of interpol who work together with mickey on a case.

cute as heck

Anyone have a better idea?
Possibilities:
Ducket or Duckett(Ducket looks a bit too much like Bucket)?
Feathet?
Quacket?
Downet? Keeps the feather joke and stays at least decently close to Bennet.

I dood it!

I love this

Quackett already is a character (the original Fantomius), for what it's worth. Could either mean avoid the name or use it specifically since it's established.

Can't resist

What's with Italians and their duck feitsh? How these pre WW2 comics come out to be a best seller in Europe?

I'm partial to Downet since we already have Duckcy and Bingduck. Also because of the feather thing.
Should probably avoid it.

I said "draw" her, not "post" her.
but thanks

I've got to presume that in Brazil, they don't give Jose a foreign accent.

I now have a digital copy of Pride and Prejudice open in a tab. This should probably have been something I should have started out with. Obviously I'm not gonna just grab text of the page, the comic is simpler in it's language on purpose, but having the book text helps a lot with uncertainties.

Well he’s Brazilian and speaking his natural Portuguese in those comics so he’d have a completely natural accent, perhaps with some slang thrown in. I’d assume if they had a western character like Donald visit (which I know he’s appeared before but I never read them) he’d have what amounts to an accent those in Brazil would notice with a Westerner learning Portuguese as a second language like Jose does here

It's a great book.

It goes downhill rapidly after a great beginning, so volume 4 isn't necessary. You really don't need that much Bubba the Caveduck.
