I’ve only watched the first three seasons, and it was nothing special. Also, fuck the fanbase.

7/10 enjoyable watch marred by a schizophrenic plot and poorly utilized characters

It finally got interesting when they switched up the lions. Before then it was comfy but completely formulaic.

Good animation wasted on terrible winding writing. Not exactly great in terms of being a reboot either.

Once Keith took over the black lion again, the team dynamics got really boring

Fucking awful. Tried way too hard to pander to both old fans and Tumblr and the story and characters suffered. Pacing was horrendously inconsistent. Not enough Voltron in the series named Voltron.

The gays ruined it.

A promising series that lost its direction due to fandom, much like Legend of Korra. The decision to keep Shiro alive only served to ruin an established set of planned events, which led to meandering plot lines and filler.

Pretty disappointing.

The plot makes no sense, many characters have retarded motivations, and many of the main characters got no development.

Agreed, should have fleshed out the clone plot and left Keith gone. He was dreadfully boring when he came back.

Keith should have come back sooner and they should have ended the kuron nonsense quicker. It was already too dragged out and pointless

It was only pointless because they didn't deal with the fallout or do any of the things that make a clone plot great. The clone never even found out he was one!

I don't think I've seen a final season of something hated as much by a wide variety of people even die hard fans

S7 is where it peaked and probably should have ended.

Writers didn't know where this story was going. They introduced too many characters that didn't contribute much if any at all to the plot. The paladins really didn't spend time together (Hunk and Shiro rarely talk to one another. In fact, there isn't a episode that focuses on Hunk with Allura or Shiro.) and the lions don't actually have bonding moments with their pilots. The whole family theme is unbelievable. The paladins don't act like friends, let alone a family, they're amicable co-workers at best.

One of the most jarring moments on the last two seasons is how Keith still questions his friendship with the other paladins, especially Lance, but then later acts like they're best friends and even states that Lance is his right-hand man that has his back. Hell, even Pidge agrees with Keith and only sees him as a loner emo kid pretty much for the entire series. This is despite the fact that Keith is the leader and should have a stronger, closer bond to them than the start of the story because they were literally spending years fighting for each other.

The summary I read made me feel really bad for Lauren and Joaquim.

Pretty good overall, but it suffered from it's fair share of missed opportunities, or not explaining things that could have used explanations. Basically, from all the interviews I've watched, a lot of shit got cut. I'd love to hear more about some of the background info that they never got into.

Why does a fanbase factor into a judgement of a show? All fans are terrible. Who cares.

Morons feed off of drama basically, and if a show has a shit fanbase, they think it gives them a good excuse to hate the show.

A fan base doesn't have an relevancy to a shows quality, but people like to think they do.

Cool roster but it went downhill during season 3 so i stopped watching.

With the EPS? Every time they talk about what they wanted to do it gets worse. Musical death chairs and now Lance raising his girlfriend. Keith killing Shiro. Issa mess.

It was probably one of the worst mecha shows I'd seen in a while, almost every fight was forgettable.
