>Lisa lost Scott to Kim and she still had to be friends with both, probably bitter inside. >Kim ends up getting ghosted by Scott leaving for Toronto, who tells Lisa the news instead of Kim, forcing a rift between them for a month.
I wonder how their feelings towards each other shifted during that time
If you knew women(which I'm guessing most of Yea Forums don't), you could only comprehend the amount of pettyness they can display towards one another over a boy
Gavin Green
How petty do you think it was?
Anthony Johnson
Like take a fucking guess, Lisa had to endure knowing her crush fucked her best friend while Kim probably suspected Lisa and Scott had a relationship behind her back this whole day time.
Women, especially teenagers, do this speculation shit all the time and kill one another for it.
I know everybody knows this but my god was Scott a shitty person
Liam White
So is Ramona, in the end their relationship only worked out because they were both honest about how shitty they are.
Jaxson Robinson
It's long been a liked and popular series so it makes sense people like to discuss Another reason might be that Envy was played by Brie Larson in the movie, and you should know what's going on with her now
Jeremiah Gray
Yeah. It’s astounding how a minuscule amount of charm will make people miss all the red flags.
Xavier Cooper
honestly, i've always felt this was overstated, at least here. are people just used to fiction where the protagonist(s) are uncomplicated good people? i guess omalley catches some people because he draws his characters in this very wavy cartoony style but personality-wise they tend to have a lot of crisscrossing lines and hard angles.
scott, ramona, et al. felt very true to life for me, as someone who was in somewhat similar social circles to omalley in toronto at the time the first book was being written. i don't feel that either is really exceptionally shitty, but i guess i did tend to hang out with a lot of people who were 'fun'/'cool' and the expense of being dependable. this really isn't necessarily a problem as long as you keep tabs and make sure what you get out is commensurate with what you're putting in.
Juan Scott
Well maybe because I have a very different sort of social circle and now in a similar age as Scott that I cannot fathom to act or be friends with someone like him. Again very different background and life choices.
Julian Parker
Incredibly
Liam Hernandez
If you look back at it, the only real friend Scott has is Wallace. Everyone else is visibly annoyed by him or outright hostile. They barely tolerate him because confronting him over his shittiness isn't worth their hassle.
Gavin Phillips
Because most of them are kind of shitty and you get used to each other's shittiness.
Also this, most of his friend circle just tolerate him most of the time.
A Night in the Woods did a pretty good arc about this same thing, where you often just get stuck with "the best available friends"
Carson Mitchell
Nah, ramona has flaws but she is cool, in the movie however she is a complete asshole, even more than scott in the comic
Wyatt Wood
If they didn't have some friendship with Scott they wouldn't do shit with him and just tell him to fuck off. None of them outside Wallace has any maturity however
Dominic Scott
>scott's good looks made up for his shitty personality 100% BLOM was blackpilled af
Carter Garcia
Something the movie really fucked up on was removing Lisa. Removing her made the tension between Scott and Kim a lot less believable. I understand that it was a movie so they couldnt go through everything but even a small mention would have been better than nothing at all.
Alexander Allen
I haven't been on Yea Forums for a while. Isn't she just playing Captain Marvel now?
Evan Jackson
Everyone in this series was shitty except Knives and Kim
Evan Martin
What is the name of the boyfriend of Stephen? He seems very anoyed with Scott around. I think Scott is more that dude you know for enough long time that you don't bother to argue.
Eli Garcia
Joseph always looks like that, also he was fighting with Stephen initially too.
Carson Myers
How is Stephen shitty?
Jonathan Mitchell
Wallace is supposed to be the only real adult in the group, so it makes sense. You know how the brain doesn't stop developing until you're in your mid 20s?
Ryder Brooks
To be honest, i can see little myself in Scott.
Carter Bell
Who could've played Lisa Miller?
Jacob Robinson
I LIKED YOU FOR A THOUSAND YEARS
Colton Moore
Same as Avatar. All the zoomers born in 2000 are just getting around to reading it. I'm one of them.
Nathaniel Russell
Far enough, I reread it occasionally since I bought the box set for cheap a few years ago and think it holds up pretty well.
It should be obvious to people Scott is entirely for one-night stands, you don't make a relationship with him
Brayden Jones
The Metric version is way better and Emily Haines probably would have been a better Envy Adams.
Dominic Fisher
>Lisa lost Scott to Kim and she still had to be friends with both, probably bitter inside. Do you actually think BLO, or his characters, have that kind of awareness?
It's a fantasy world where everything is trendy and fine. According to this world, it's fine to be close friends with someone you dated for awhile. It's fine to have two exes in your same social scene, and for those exes to interact. The amount of social awkwardness is just played off as "eh, a thing... I guess?"
In reality none of these people would ever want to interact or be around each other ever again in the first place. Life ain't all sunshine and rainbows.
Asher Morales
Envy was based off Emily
Logan Ross
Not surprising, I guess she was technically slightly too old at the time of the movie but I think it would have worked.
Grayson Gray
There wasn't much between Scott and Kim in the movie anyway.
Carter Morgan
They had either just released Fantasies or were currently making Fantasies at the time
Scott Pilgrim's world is the nihilistic outlook that all the other edgy scene/hipster kids in the early 2010's adopted because life sucked really hard.
Dominic Watson
My biggest desire in life was to have a life like scott by 23, I didn't make it.
Christopher Baker
>ramona has flaws but she is cool
Ramona is a huge fucking whore
Justin Hall
Not to mention she actively admits to race fetishism.
Landon Long
Kim mentions in the final book that She and Lisa stopped talking for a month after that. So I can assume Kim felt a bit betrayed that he told Lisa and not her.
>scott is an obnoxious retard whose train of thought is run through seven layers of self-denial so he can be blind to how much of a sack of shit he is >basically none of this changes by the end and it's supposed to be a happy ending because he got together with someone almost as shitty as him
The ending would have been better off if they put more emphasis on how basically nobody really likes either of them (except for Wallace, bless his soul) and Scott and Ramona getting back together wasn't really the end-all be-all solution to their shittiness, but was good enough for them
I think Scott by the end is suppose to remind you of all those shitty things you did when you were a teen or in your twenties to some degree. Except he did, hopefully, a lot more shittier things and he was a kind of a chad
Kayden Cooper
The book ends with him is him realizing he's a cunt and starting to try to fix it, he can't be cured of it overnight. It's ambiguous if it works out or not and if I recall correctly Bryan said that if it went on you'd see it didn't work out so it wouldn't be much of a happy ending
Jordan Lewis
If I remember right, Scott was improving but Ramona more or less stayed the same.
William Fisher
again, this is an accurate depiction of the toronto social scene at the time. ive aged out of it, but i have no particular reason to suspect its not still the case, and actually am pretty baffled at whats so hard to believe. maybe its an urban versus suburban or rural thing?
Landon Sullivan
>slightly too old at the time That would have been hot to be honest
Wyatt Cox
If this was like a visual novel type thing I'd want a ending where you get Knives and Kim.
Well he did a good job of deconstructing that fantasy all right because Scott was (intentionally) shown to be a shitty person
Brody Hill
That's basically the premise of the comic in a nutshell. A really shitty guy in his early 20s is idealized by an incredibly damaged girl and really only "wins" by realizing how shitty he has been and how he needs to change if he isn't going to (yet again) ruin his relationship with someone he cares about.
Jayden Hill
It's weird he says that then has them as a lovey dovey couple in various illustrations
You wanted to be a fuckboy surrounded by awful people? Also, dating a highschool is trash as fuck. trust me, ive done both.
Austin Jackson
>dating a high school
damn dude, how did you manage
Evan Baker
That's actually Kim's ending in the video game
Jason White
kek
Asher Taylor
He pushed Scott and Kim into recording the Sex Bob-Omb album even though Kim didn't really want to. Which also left Neil all alone bc he didn't have anything to do.
Austin Young
If you think Movie Scott should have ended up with knives then you missed the whole fucking point of everything.
Blake Fisher
Based. The soundtrack is so good
Honestly that would make a good Book 7. Happy ending =/= the best ending
The original ending for the movie had Scott end up with Knives.
I'm pretty sure the end of Book 6 confirms that Kim still likes Scott as a friend, since they have the new band together. Also Knives obviously still likes Scott.
Nathan Green
Scott is a 4achn esque douche with charisma.
Eli Bell
Yeah change that so that neither of them genuinely like him because god knows why they still would
John Russell
A THOUSAND YEEAA-AARRS
Sebastian Hall
Nah senpai, he the kind of nigga to lurk on plebbit

Anthony Cox

Dylan Ortiz
>Be 2019 >Instead of a rock band they are a cringe Soundcloud rapper group
Jose Martinez
Scots main trait was being oblivious. To everyone around him The first book starts with him feeling betrayed by his parents for going on a vacation, he breaks his bass, his brothers bass he can't replace halfway through so they have to kick him off the band, he even stops talking to everyone to indulge in videogames and not going outside out of nowhere. Everyone of his friends is gay and he doesn't even notice until the end. It doesn't make him a douchebag he is just clueless and immatura but it does make him a shitty friend I'm a lot like Scott but I also have bipolars disorder in just starting to get treatment over so there is already too much on my plate
Jacob Gomez
I had an idea years ago for a Scott Pilgrim esque book about a yearly national battle of the bands competition that is literally bands fighting each other to the death for a record deal. The idea of different music genres having unique fighting styles based off of said genre was neat to me. The main characters would have been a band called Empty Flask comprised of 2 boys and a girl bassist. They make it to the end of the competition to discover that the record company is actually a private mercenary group looking for new recruits.Of course it would have been full of over the top ridiculousness, waifus, and relationship drama because I like that stuff.
Brayden Diaz
>If you want to have date with me, Scock Porkmuff, you have to fuck my seven evil exes. And each episode has him advancing further and further up the bases with Ramoaner as well as one of the other established characters, not to mention each ex, all of whom are female for some reason or another.
For bonus points, one of those exes is FTM trans, and Scock porks her boipoussi so hard that she detransitions into a regular tomboy, after which she becomes Best Girl among Yea Forums.
Luis Bell
>Yea Forums is actually invested in female character drama why? it's insufferable
oh shit he was only 23. Okay. That's a 6 year age gap instead of an 8 year gap.
>scott pilgrim came out in 2004 >scott would be born in 1981
either makes him the oldest of the millennials or the youngers of the Xers. And now zoomers are old enough to fuck. Makes you think.
Isaiah Martinez
Scott is a shitty person because he is a selfabsorbed douche. His drunken behaivor when dating Envy and the fact he never asume it was one of most notables examples. Also you are nothing like Scott, don't self insert.
Jonathan Sullivan
Or a sequel
>Scott Pilgrim vs. the Corporate World
And then he spends his life paying rent because Canadians can't afford houses because Knives' people came and sunk all their cash into Canadian real estate to hide it from Beijing.
Christian Murphy
This is too fucking real goddamn
Wyatt Richardson
They were already browsing Yea Forums years before they turned 18.
t. 1997 cusper, either a zoomer or a Millennial thanks to not really fitting in either generation nicely. I've been going on this site since 2008.
Carter Allen
The movie is on Netflix.
David Reyes
So, it's been a while since I read the comics, but what exactly did Scott do, specifically, during the New Years party that caused Envy to cut ties with him? Other than, you know, be extremely drunk and acting like a total fucking asshole?
I mean, on one hand, Envy is justified in cutting ties there, because if you put it into perspective, she's an up and coming rock star, and you can't associate with someone who's going to be making an assclown of themselves like Scott did if you want your reputation to stay intact.
But on the other, it makes sense for Scott to go nuts like he did, considering everything that happened up to that moment. Not saying it's justified, but it's understandable why he'd get blackout drunk and sperg the fuck out.
That being said, Envy's still a bitch for assuming control of Kid Chameleon as a whole, making big decisions without consulting the rest of the band, doing as she pleases, replacing members at a moment's notice, and shuffling them into positions they were ill-suited for like she did.
Brandon Nelson
>tfw Canadian and living on Vancouver Island >staying at college over the summer because the rooms are cheaper than finding a real room and I don't want to pay for rent inside somebody's fucking basement
As a young teen. If she committed to that, she wouldn't have dated Scott, as he's just an average white guy in Canada, unless the whole "Canadian" thing makes it different. Reminder that when Justin Bieber was first popular outside of YouTube, some people thought that he wasn't white, and that he was Canadian.
Gabriel Rodriguez
I'd like this, especially if Kim and Scott eventually started falling for each other, but in a more ambiguous way.
Cameron Rogers
Nah, they'd still be a garage rock/garage punk band, but one with occasional rapping. Rap rock seems to be coming back.
>I don't fit in with any generation bro I'm my own thing
You are millennial, your obnoxious special snowflake hipster attitude and faux loner lifestyle is literally the most defining trait millennials seem to have as a generation.
Brayden Robinson
Not him, but that sounds suspiciously like Gen X as well, especially Andy French tier Gen X.
Kayden Edwards
Cool. Too bad most media thanks to the Pew Research Center seems to place me in the same generation as my little brother (he's 10). Honestly, generational lines besides the one for Baby Boomers don't really matter, do they? Also fuck you, I legitimately have a hard time talking with people in real life, I'm not trying to be a faux loner, it's hell and I want out.
Hudson Diaz
What can I say, my fellow Americans can be retarded. If Scott Pilgrim's last name was Hernandez, but he looked and acted the same, and was played by another white guy, just with a Spanish last name in the movie, there's people who'd think that he's a "person of color", even though Hispanic isn't a race at all.
Forgot to add that I'm not calling him a part of Gen X, I'm just noticing similarities between generations.
Henry Taylor
Loved that show and was fucking amazed at Black Sheep. Guess I can...
Die happy.
Xavier Rivera
Would Scott have really made Lisa happy anyway?
Alexander King
Xers don't insist that they're not really Xers. Millennials, no matter what year they were born, will always tell you about how little they think they have in common with other Millennials. And they all say this.
>"I'm autistic so that makes me special!"
Nope. Also Census Bureau, which actually records population, disagrees with Pew. Maybe don't take data from a place whose name makes you think of toilets.
Aiden Rogers
Last off-topic comment regarding this, but I was actually originally fighting to still be considered a Millennial/Gen Y/whatever the fuck regardless, I only started to change my mind on it recently. I didn't think it was right that someone born literally two months before me in 1996 was considered a Millennial but I wasn't by the PRS, but hey, you have a serious point. Sorry about everything, user.
Isaiah Hughes
I doubt it. Not how he was before the story ended anyway.
Angel Cox
It's beautiful user, your OTP is still possible in-canon
Mason Perez
People born in the 80s and 90s all have a lot of similar tendencies. And people born in the 90s and 00s also have similar tendencies. I would argue however that zoomers are usually self-assured they are zoomers, while millennials are constantly trying to carve an identity niche separate from their greater generation. Zoomers as well exist in a world where they have no conscious memories of a pre-Bush, pre-9/11, pre-widespread internet world. They don't even have toddler memories of it.
So 2000/2001 is a good cutoff for the zoomer/millennial divide simply because it is a major event, much like the baby boom begins after WWII and Gen X begins after Kennedy was shot and births dropped.
Christian Adams
Putting the beginning of generations at the start of major world events besides Boomers makes a lot of sense, especially for Gen X starting right after the Kennedy assasination, it just fits so perfectly.
William Cox
You think so, user? I think Scott and Ramona both have room to grow, with Ramona having more of it, so I could see them eventually splitting up, just like how said.
Jack Stewart
No sadly, Scott would've destroyed Lisa's soul to suicide
William Thomas
>zoomer who read Scott Pilgrim series in Middle School because of the movie >dressed as Scott for Halloween with a paper The Power of Love >didn't realize till high school how shitty Scott was
everyone in the book is somewhat of a bad person, even Knives to an extent. The only one who isn't outright morally grey is Young Neil, because he doesn't really do anything.
Ethan Reyes
I'm a huge sjw living in Vancouver, and even I've developed a low key racism due to the housing market here being ruined by the Chinese criminal and business wealthy elites. They were pretty much given a pass by the BC liberal party though, so I'm pretty mad at white wealthy elites too.
Thomas Martinez
If you look at OP's pic harder, it really seems like Lisa wants to inject some positivity into Kim's gloomy's life if you know what I mean

Is the comics complete/finished? how different is it from the movie? And lastly, link to the whole comic book please!
Wasn't the end of the last book basically both of them acknowledging how shitty they were and agreeing that all they can really do is try again to be better than that?
Andrew Brown
Almost exactly that yes.
Juan Nelson
So which girl besides Ramona still has a chance with Scott?
Logan Walker
If Scott continues improving himself I could see him and Kim maybe giving it another shot.
That might be awkward if the post-finale illustrations are canon, though.
Zachary Reyes
Of course Kim still shows love for him, they are still good friends frequently together, BLOM implies that Ramona breaks up with him later on. We probably won't get a sequel and you probably won't see it in-comic but it's very much alive
Benjamin Phillips
What the fuck was her problem? He didn't cheat on her with Knives, he cheated on Knives with her. She should feel complimented that Scott was willing to throw out his current loving relationship for her when she didn't even try to see if Scott was in a relationship.
Xavier Scott

Scott gets a good ending if he doesn't go after Ramona.

Bentley Clark
with who? Patel?
Michael Lee
>Gets with better girls He should be
Eli Jenkins
I mean, it's completely rational. Lisa, Kim, and Scott were all friends. Scott and Kim are dating. Scott tells Lisa but doesn't have the courtesy to tell the girl he's dating that he's moving. Assuming Scott fell off the face of the Earth, Kim could probably assume that Scott and Lisa had some sort of relationship outside of her knowledge and that she wasn't valued enough to get the notification that Scott was moving.
In terms of the self-denial, he stops running away from Nega-Scott (the manifestation of his past and the bad shit he did) and accepts the things he's done. He also apologizes for his actions and owns up to it. Obviously, he can't undo his cheating, lack of respect for his friends, etc. but he can apologize and grow as a character. His friends all still seem to care about him, so he still has them too.
>Bryan said that if it went on you'd see it didn't work out so it wouldn't be much of a happy ending sauce?
Elijah Bailey
Honestly, I'd be okay with that. Kim and Knives both went through a lot and by the end of the book they are both at a turning point in their lives. If they got together, that would probably be good for both of them.
Plus, Knives and Kim would actually be good for each other. Knives brings a lot of youthful energy to Kim who is burned out, and Kim brings maturity and sorta an adult's eye to things. Also, it's unlikely either would cheat on the other, considering they both got cheated on in the series.
>Scott end up with Knives the way the film led to that actually seemed to work
Aaron Ward
>Everyone of his friends is gay and he doesn't even notice until the end.
>Wallace: Super Gay >Stephen: Gay >Ramona: Bi >Kim: Bi >Knives: Bi
Damn, Scott may have been the only totally straight one in his friends group.
Ayden Foster
god his art is so unappealing never in my life have i had more of an un-boner
Jaxson Gonzalez
What is it with always making girls Bi? like instead of lesbian or straight
Jason Johnson
Women are naturally Bi.
Samuel Rogers
>Scott >Straight
Mostly straight, maybe.
Jordan Miller
Sexually? Probably pretty happy in the short term. Romantically, probably not.
Of course, you can also take into account that they were close friends for longer than Ramona and Scott dated, so she already understands Scott's dopiness and stupidity and seems content, if not happy with it. Arguably, Lisa may have actually been a better fit for Scott than Ramona. However, I'd be more happy for Lisa to pursue her acting career in LA than babysit Scott through his 20s. Hopefully, BLOM will show how she's doing now in his next book that is taking place in LA.
If Lisa and Scott got together, Scott would get more out of it than Lisa. In fact in the eventual brake up (which considering it's Scott, its bound to happen) he'd probably be still hung up on her
Logan King
I cannot imagine how conflicted Lisa would've been in their relationship, knowing how much Scott is draining out of her but not wanting to end it because of how much emotion and hope she invested
I always thought he was a little and happy I'm not the only one who thought it He's very clearly the least but literally everyone else in his friend group is and he has no problem sleeping with a naked Wallace. He's just the kind that would be too stubborn to realize it
Nicholas Murphy
He seemed more excited than normal at discovering Wallace was gay
Anthony Cruz
them ending up together or not, scott actually putting effort into getting some sort of closure/redemption with knives in the movie instead of ending up with her forgiving/getting over him without much work was pretty cool
that's pretty much all of Scott's friendships though, right? they all sorta enable his behavior since no one really cuts him off or out. he's always in the social circle, even though everyone disapproves of his behavior.
Aaron Nguyen
I agree with that sentiment. While I liked how the book had Knives sorta giving up on Scott, to show how the world is moving on without him, I appreciated that the movie focused on Scott redeeming himself with Knives. The closure the book gave at the end of Book 6 just felt a little off for how much Knives had grown as a character through the series.
Most measurements start Gen X in 1965, which is supposedly when the post-war baby boom finally ended, but you could also tie that in to major world events. Just as the Baby Boomers were the first generation to not know how things were like before WWII, Generation X are the first to not remember what things were like before the Vietnam War.
Leo Nguyen
It’s Canada’s largest city, no doubt LGBT people would flock there from all over Canada.
Andrew Hill
I mean yeah, cities always have a higher gay population and it' supposed to be accurate to the Torono scene at the time Certainly won't find them admitting it in redneck country
Chase Campbell
Y'know, I'm just now realizing how Scott Pilgrim was one of the first things that made me feel indifferent to gays. Like outside of Joseph being a bit of a cunt, pretty much all the other gay people in Scott Pilgrim were pretty based.
David Murphy
I remember Joseph being a cunt but in a witty way and to people who definitely deserved it.
Christopher Foster
Urban gays tend to be overly sassy
Luke Green
I am a very similar circle of friends and all the girls, except maybe one, are bi.
Yes, it gets annoying REALLY fast.
Eli Bailey
True cis lesbians are the most uncommon letter by far, you can just lurk /clg/ now and then to get an idea of how fucking bitter cis lesbians are compared to everyone else because of this.
Alexander King
Scott is shitty, but I feel he gets more flak than he deserves. Maybe it is just me, but I kind of resent his attitude towards life and how everything is handed to him.
But being lucky is not exactly one fault, is it?
Carter Mitchell
It's more common to run into bi girls than bi guys, for whatever reason. But also bisexuality is sorta easy mode when it comes to writing girls. Like you can have them kiss another girl for some hot girl-on-girl if you want, but also have them fuck a guy or date them. It's that "lesbians are hot, but would also imply I'd never have a chance with them" sorta thing.
Ayden Foster
why is that?
Adrian Bennett
It's unclear but apparently they have a much higher rate of unfaithful or "just experimenting" bi girls on top of issues with transbians.
Asher Martinez
this is true but why did they allow him to be around in the first place? How did he benefit the friendship group?
Luis Jackson
Even with the "just experimenting" ones, at the very least you have some sort of shot at any relationship.
>issues with transbians.
I never understood the anger over them. I've seen pure seething by lesbians on Tumblr about the existence of trans women that I just don't get.
Jacob Powell
Probably social inertia. Scott already knew Kim so she might've suggested him for the band. After that Scott just sorta meandered into the group, and was overall inoffensive. Nobody hates him or anything, but they don't exactly love him. He's just sorta there. He's that doof that plays bass. I don't think there's really a point where Scott crosses that line for the group, so while they're annoyed by him, there's not really a reason to stop hanging out or inviting him to stuff. The only people who truly seem to enjoy having him around are Lisa, Knives and Ramona to an extent, all of whom have crushes on him or are dating him.
I sometimes wonder. Are girls just more likely to "experiment" because of how they're wired or is it just more social. Like even at it's most "gays are bad" points, society seems more chill about lesbians than gay dudes so it stands to reason that there'd be less of a stigma against a girl experimenting than a guy.
Jason Nguyen
How would you feel if you were a young black woman and Rachel Dolezal tried to to talk about how she's just like you?
David Lewis
It's more like girls are more open about it since there's no sense of social shame behind it. While if a guy experiments he's going to be considered gay forever. It's mostly an issue with people being unable to handle bisexuality as a concept.
Mason Jenkins
I actually wasn't mad when she came out as black since she actually went out of her way to be a part of and improve the black community. She lived, for the most part, a black experience. People only got mad about it because her parent's narc'd. I didn't really see it as "blackface" as others saw it.
Nolan Nelson
>Scott putting his friends down for Lisa
Yeah, Scott isn't anyone's nigga
Jason Jenkins
Scott Pilgrim doing what it does best Being bi it's honest to god my favorite representation of gays because it feels natural. It doesn't make them feel special, it doesn't have that flamboyant stereotype that bothers me, and most importantly they are actual characters with traits not dominated by their sexual preference. They feel human
Brody Torres
The main point is she isn't actually black
Zachary Moore
what books do gays the best?
Cooper Morris
Not the guy you responded to but if the rest of the city's social scene is anything like mine than it consists mostly of bitching about Ford and Tory
Andrew Wood
It's mostly just TERFs screeching, but there is the risk of being accused of transphobia if you spurn the wrong transbian on the basic of "I don't like penis, even girl penis." My only issue with transwomen is competitive athletics.
Ryan Flores
Keep in mind when this was written, the early to mid 2000s, calling your friends "retarded douche bags" isn't that offensive of an insult
Ryan Jackson
Yeah him referring to his friend group in such a way was a real simple way of showing the reader they were close.
Jordan Rodriguez
I wish I had the all color editions so that I could reread this whole series again.
Carson Thomas
Why were fights so shit in scott pilgrim?
>Patel One sided >Lucas Lee Not realy a fight >Todd Shit >Roxie Okay >Twins Didnt even really focus on the fight >Gideon Okayish
William Peterson
Because Scott is literally too good at fighting
Isaac Wright
which is top and which is bottom? Do you think kim made knives eat her out? Do you think knives makes cute noises when she close to cumming desu
the "fights" were metaphorical and symbolic of Scott coming to terms with all of Ramona's slutty dirty baggage.
Lucas Powell
O'Malley didn't want to work too hard
Sebastian Gomez
I assume Kim is top. While Knives seemed to have initiated in that situation, Kim definitely seems like the one to lead considering she's the experienced adult and Knives is still a kinda inexperienced teen. Plus, Knives is definitely a big softy when it comes to romance, so she'd probably follow Kim's lead.
>Do you think kim made knives eat her out
I'd say maybe. Knives is probably a virgin (before that night with Kim) and she probably hasn't gone down on anyone before, especially another girl. If anything, Kim probably went down on her. Kim seems like she's probably been with at least one girl before Knives. If Knives did eat out Kim, it was probably to teach her how to do so. But for drunken sex, I dunno.
>Do you think knives makes cute noises when she close to cumming desu
Absolutely. Knives strikes me to be the type that hasn't really done anything sexual at all, so when she's close, it's new and strong and the noises just come out naturally. I wish there was more Kim and Knives art of that.
The last thread made me reread all of Scott Pilgrim. I guess I was maybe 15 the last time I read it and now I'm 26, so it hits much closer to home for me now. Very enjoyable.
Also, a question for the Toronto bros. Do young people really talk like that in the Toronto scene? It's very hard for me to describe, but O'malley writes dialogue in a very specific, jokey way that I I'm not sure if it's just his "voice" or the way kids talk in reality in those social circles.
Jaxson Gomez
While the movie is good, it failed at displaying how shitty Scott was
Daniel Diaz
Literally two social circles I was involved with were like that and I'm not even Canadian. Maybe get out more?
Aiden Rivera
It did it fine
Xavier Stewart
Not that guy, but it really depends on location and social circles. I've had that situation maybe once or twice, it really wasn't very common, but I'm sure it happens a lot elsewhere.
Speaking of BLO, what do you guys think of his not-Scott works? I really liked Life at Sea and Seconds, but I'm still not sure about how I feel about Snotgirl
Sea and Seconds are pretty timeless, but Snotgirl tried to be topical only to feel dated due to its slow pace being unable to keep up with trends4satire
Aiden Cox
I was in the Front Row
Henry Davis
I mean Scott is right here. Now from Ramona's perspective I wouldn't trust Scott after this but Scott isn't wrong.
Owen Rivera
And? Kims an adult she could have refused and it isn't Stephen's job to keep Neil entertained.
Adrian Carter
Trips of truth
Jackson Hernandez
>No, see, it's OK because YOU qere the side bitch!
Jaxon Ramirez
What the fuck IS Snotgirl. I've been keeping up just cause its O'Malley but its so nothing. Its nothing. Am I retarded? It feels so hollow,I just don't get it at all.
Blake Morgan
Snotgirl is meh
Jackson Young
I wanted Snotgirl to be good so badly. I'm going to finish it all said and done but man, it feels like it's trying to do so many things at once but kinda underdevelops them, so that all the messages, themes, and twists mostly feel kinda rushed and hollow.
Cooper Hughes
That's discouraging to hear, I'm gonna have a look if its really that bad
Ryder Morgan
>I mean Scott is right here. Now from Ramona's perspective I wouldn't trust Scott after this but Scott isn't wrong.
It's so interesting too how the movie and even the director paints Scott and Knives as anything but the worst pairing. Like a Scott/Knives ending is BAD END.
Landon Jones
t. incel
Jose Bennett
I gave it a shot I really did, but honestly it's a slog and I'm having trouble really finding myself endeared to...well anyone. Like even as much of a douchebag Scott was or how much of a cunt Katie was being, they have this certain charm to them the endears you. Y'know. Makes you root for them. Snotgirl just doesn't have that for me.
Christian Williams
BRYAN PLEASE GET THE SCOTT PILGRIM GAME A RE-RELEASE
I mean, if Kim did refuse then everyone'd be like "Oh wow. Kim's such a bitch for not doing this thing right?" The "they're an adult they can make their own decisions" excuse doesn't exactly work here when we're specifically talking about how friends treat each other. Most people will put up with uncomfortable situations as long as it doesn't make waves. Because people who're never accommodating or go along with what people do are usually unpopular.
Isaiah Fisher
>Storm colored Lisa >Mystique colored Ramona >Rogue Colored Envy All my yes.
Jason Gonzalez
Blom and Ubi both want to
Anamanaguchi is the holdup
Camden Taylor
I see your point here. I just don't think pushing to make an album was shitty or not enough for the statement "Stephen is shitty" to be correct. You're a band. Bands make albums.
Bentley Ross
Mystique Ramona and Jubilee Knives are doing things to me.
Ian Clark
>Anamanaguchi is the holdup Are they looking for too much money?
Jason Jones
You got a sauce on that?
David Bailey
True. But it is worth noting that making the album killed the band.
Kayden Reed
Those fucking hacks i hate them so much Also >USA never
Xavier Martin
It's not bad by any means, it's just kind of middling. The art is fantastic though.
Wyatt Bell
I've always found Kim hypocritical for ragging on Scott for dating Knives but then making out with her (was this after Knives was 18? Then it's slightly less skeezy, but still). Knives is, however, an absolute angel.
Colton Reed
Don't listen to this user. Its fucking bad.
Aiden Campbell
Kim and Knives were drunk so arguable not in their right mind. Can't say the same for Scott.
Julian Roberts
It's the difference between a drunken fling and a deliberate choice on Scott's part
Jace Lewis
I think it's more social. I feel like a huge amount of people are Kinsey 1s, but girls are allowed to experiment with less stigma, and for guys that small an amount of attraction and curiosity isn't worth the stigma.
>she makes a metaphor >Scott asks what it's a reference to >she reveals that she came up with it on her own
Underrated gag.
Dominic Butler
FWIW, I'm loving snotgirl. it's got these really dreamy unreliable-narrator unreliable-everybody vibe where you're never quite sure what's real. if you tend to be plot-focused you probably won't enjoy it but it's a great mood piece and i eagerly await each release
Christian Nelson
The issue is that from game stuff there seems to be no issues raised with it as a canon ending, no one ever calls Kim on it like they didfor Scott. I suppose it's more on BLOM's writing, but it still drives me nuts.
Kayden Hill
It's very relatable, I've had the exact same thing with some turn of phrase I'd made up.
Luke Sullivan
Damn, did Knives come from just kissing? Is that a thing that happens?
It's always amazing to me how drunkeness is an excuse for basically every stupid choice except getting behind the wheel of a car.
Isaac Price
Except Lisa exists.
Brayden Davis
The problem with it is that it doesn't go far enough in being a disturbing look into the MC's psyche. And it feels like it keeps flip flopping between being a psychological thriller and a kind of cynical slice of shallow Instathot life. There's also a lack of internal consistency to it so it kinda feels like stuff keeps happening because reasons sometimes.
she got those hot bitch vibes but not so bitchy they distract from her hotness like Still's ex.
James White
Can we talk about the scene when Kim had to make up that Ramona texted her to get him to beat the Twins. That shit hurt. Fuck Scott.
James Long
>Yea Forums brainlet boomers still cant comprehend SP kino >whines about it being hipster propaganda
>while the whole point is that scott needs to grow up and accept being an adult, ie the very thing the reee about
the whole thing is quite literally taking a shakespear-esque epic dab on how kids always do stupid shit but somehow that basic thing flies over so many heads
Ayden James
I want my idealistic scenario where they both improve and stay together because fuck, 6 books literally show that they genuinely like each other and splitting up would be a pointless fuck you ending that's a waste of my time.
Nathaniel Evans
If you count being a minor character with zero personality beyond "I want to be a model" and "Wow I really like you for some reason Scott" whose only role in the story is to be tertiary motivation for Scott to get with Ramona, then yeah she exists.
Joseph Butler
From Toronto. Some people do talk in that way, I have a few friends that do, but fewer people do so as they get older
Jacob Young
It's never explicitly shown, but I'm pretty sure a couple of the characters allude to a massive fucking fight, the fight to end all fights. It was most likely everything coming to the surface, what with the band, and Envy acting really weird and distant
Liam Gutierrez
Scott Pilgrim is from one of the last eras where comics were worth a damn. People get nostalgic remembering a work of actual merit.
Isaac Cox
>Doesn't take the time to learn or even notice a single thing about his friends, other than material things they own so he can live. >Not a shitty friend.
Also the ENTIRE reason he is so oblivouse to everything is because he doesn't want to be an asshole, hence what nega scott was.
Chase Peterson
Wrong, it's actually more Universal's fault. Due to liscening Universal would have to renew a contract with both Ubisoft AND Anamanaguchi which they are too lazy to do.
Owen Robinson
>wallace as iceman heh
Logan Martin
Lost at Sea got really angsty at times but it was a good coming of age story
She’s hot as hell but also kinda forgotten since she basically was written out of the series after Kim discovered her cheating ways.
Luke Morgan
No, Knives was 17. But Kim was drunk when they made out so her judgement was a bit impaired.
Gavin Lee
Just saw them last night in AZ they put on a great show
Brayden Turner
Also Holly Hawkes is a great name
Mason Lee
I'm digging it too. I like it a little more than Seconds, probably about on par with Lost At Sea.
Jackson Jenkins
>Metric opening for Smashing Pumpkins last year It was literally Scott Pilgrim the concert just reunite Plumtree and put them in there
Logan Morgan
That's because the director originally set up everything for the Knives ending. He actually thought that's how things would go. Then the comic ended and he said 'whoops' and shot the Ramona one.
Matthew Smith
>found the shitty boy
Christopher Ross
The Adult Swim animated short makes me so upset we never got an animated movie or series.
Joshua Morgan
I do, thank you for acknowleding Lisa's status as the best.
Wyatt Stewart
They even made sure to show that Todd had already punched a hole in the moon. Attention to detail.
Brody Price
I like it user. Just gotta be careful to keep it "good-random" and not spork-tier
Jace Myers
The katanyagis
Jaxon Morris
>That shit hurt why?
Connor Torres
I agree. I'm a fan of L@S. It's a nice short read that retains a lot of that early era O'Malley stuff, that felt personal and a little angsty. I found it when I was 18 and really clung to it at that time. I think that's why I really liked O'Malley's stuff. I found it around my mid-to-late teens and really identified a lot with the characters in his stories at different times in my life.
I have my hopes that one day it'll happen. Even a mini-series would be great. I'd like to see more Scott Pilgrim or at the very least more of O'Malley's stuff.
I mean, not really. Maybe for stupid shit amongst friends, but legally you're still responsible for your actions. If you kill someone, it doesn't matter if you're drunk or not.
Ethan Hill
That album is great. I've never read Scott Pilgrim the whole way through, but I thank Bryan Lee O'Malley for introducing me to Plumtree.
Justin Stewart
I've never listened to Plumtree, but I have read the entire Scott Pilgrim series. I really enjoyed it, it's like comfort food when I read it again.
Lincoln Ward
They were having sex and having one of "those" talks before (Movie) Scott decided to man up and pump all his feelings into (College) Knives in one, sincere burst. INTIMACY!!!
>honestly, i've always felt this was overstated, at least here. are people just used to fiction where the protagonist(s) are uncomplicated good people? Not really. Think how popular the Jerk With a Heart of Gold types are: they're complicated, rough around the edges, often self-defeating, but ultimately good when you dig deep down.
This is more like the opposite: fun and charming on the outside, but ultimately hollow.
Austin Roberts
Scott's not hollow, he just represses stuff he's ashamed of and literally adjusts his memory to fit, making him come off as some kind of affable sociopath. But when he starts confronting the asshole things he's done, he doesn't just brush it off. He never thought of himself as an asshole, so when he finally meets and confronts Nega-Scott it's the biggest bit of character development in the story. He ends up less happy-go-lucky and more aware of his flaws than he was at the start. That's not the sign of a hollow person.
Jace Barnes
I wouldn't say he's hollow, but I agree with the contrast with the jerk with a heart of gold. He's someone who's nice and charming and cute on the outside, but really, quite an asshole and a guy who purposely ignores his mistakes and bad actions to preserve his self-image as a nice guy. I like the character because I can see a lot of myself in that.
Gavin Scott
I wanted to be good at guitar by 23, I am. So there ya go.
Brandon Mitchell
Well they were in a band. Of course, Scott and Kim should be helping him.
Luis Gutierrez
Thoughts about the movie?
I really like the cinematography and how true to the comic it is, I even think most casting was spot on, except for Michael Cera himself. I actually like Cera, but Scott's supposed to be a cheery guy and maybe even a bit loud, Cera just has a sad energy to him and he's too soft spoken. Changes the dynamic a bit too much.
Easton Morris
Cera was a weird choice. It turned a lot of Scott's thoughtless lines into awkward ones, like how they changed the whole meaning of >"You're the nicest guy I've ever dated" >"That's kinda sad." In the comics Ramona says it happily and Scott's response was blithe and funny, but in the movie Cera makes it sound as though it's actually supposed to be sad. Also the scene where they're in bed looks so awkward to me. Like MEW is there, a full-bodied, red-blooded woman, and next to her is this scrawny, pale as milk, weak-chinned man-child. Scott was many things, but he was at least fit and strong, and probably had a good face considering how many girls threw their hearts at his feet. It looked weird is what I'm saying. Edgar Wright was 100% on point with the cinematography though, you're right about that. He nailed the conversion from comic to film better than I've ever seen done before.
Gavin Miller
While I agree with you I cannot for the life of me think of anyone else they could have casted at that time. It was 2010 and they need some who could unbelievably be a 23 year old loser with a but of charm.
Tyler Nelson
>Kim probably suspected Lisa and Scott doubtful scott was always a bit of an asshole to lisa she kinda forced herself into his life and he never payed too much attention to her till she showed up in toronto wanting his dick
Colton White
I think its safe to say everyone involved in scott's life deserve better
Jeremiah Hill
I'm glad this was made when it was and not today. I don't know if BLOM could resist heavy-handed political references.
It was something like an emotional weapon Gideon developed that traps you in your own mind with all your baggage. Also it could be used to enter Subspace, and *mumble mumble* can be contracted something something personal demons. The point is, emotions
Ethan Russell
Just look at his twitter
Jaxson Anderson
Looks like it got wiped out as some kind of James Gunn protest.
Jackson Brown
I read it at age 16 and it just stuck with me.
Also Raleigh is really cute
Matthew Green
Ramona has some balls talking shit after her history. Especially cheating on the twins with eachother.
It feels weird that Scott gets grilled over the series but no one addresses what a slutty bitch Ramona is.
Juan Reyes
because the story is about scott, not anyone else
Nicholas Watson
I could see that actually.
Carter Perez
Going by twitter archives he doesn't say anything stupid, and someone could argue politics are in through all the gayness in the story I think he's one who could realize a explicit political reference dates the story too hard
Gavin Wood
Bitches be horny
Sebastian Mitchell
I’m writing a paper for my film review class next week on Scott Pilgrim, so I definitely appreciate the artistic component of the film.
Tyler Davis
Is there an actual legit twitter archive out there? Twitter itself is sorta shit to look for old tweets
Jacob Williams
Grass is always greener and all such, my man. The key is to not have regrets.
Liam Cruz
I had a similar situation. >My library at school had a bunch of manga and comics >They only had Scott Pilgrim Volumes 1 and 2 >I read them >Movie comes out, I'm mega hyped >Become lifelong fan >Realize that the comic is really depressing, despite the movie's flashiness. I still love both, though. It's one of the best movie adaptations of all time.
Angel Powell
Not quite, specifically looking through an entire account is really hard Funny enough the us government archived all tweets to a certain date, but they haven't implemented a way to look through it yet
Gabriel Williams
Bump
Henry Fisher
Uh. That explains a lot.
Nah, jk. I like how she made Carol.
David Hall
sauce?
Easton Powell
I'm guessing the big thing is that a couple months back there was that user that did story time threads of all the SP books in colour (as well as L@S and Seconds), which was real fun.
Leo Foster
SP (as a whole) > L@S > Seconds > Snotgirl
Liam Ortiz
'Cause it showed he didn't value Kim as much as he should have
Jordan Powell
Can't wait til i see yo-ou~
Luke King

>vancouver What did you expect? Going to move out and buy your own place soon mate?
Blake Richardson
>epilogue has a younger better guy fight older Scott to date Ramona I would help fund it
Luke Harris
The movie is as good as it could have been. Ultimately would have been better as a TV miniseries.
This Snotgirl is good Seconds is really good L@S is great but ending is confusing SP is based
Chase Campbell
Coming from the perspective of a uni student in the UK, I really want to move to Canada after I finish it, what am I realistically looking at for being able to live there?
Isaac Hernandez
He does try to cheat on Ramona with knives later on which backfires because he is incredibly akward
Eli Moore
The alliteration is part of it, but the name is just aurally pleasing.
Grayson Taylor
I unironically love the movie, but I also keep it separate, in my head and in my heart, from the comics. It's kind of its own thing, even though it takes the characters and nearly all of the plot from the comic, and in turn it's gotta be appreciated as its own thing. My friends and I watch it often, and quote it even more often.
That said, artistically it's fantastic and like said, >Edgar Wright was 100% on point with the cinematography though, you're right about that. He nailed the conversion from comic to film better than I've ever seen done before.
Its use of the medium of film and of comics, and even vidya, really, is consistently fantastic.
Jaxson Bailey
Snot girl would be better if blom himself drew it desu I like the art but it its missing that charm blom's drawings have
You're forgetting about Neil, he's straight. And I'm not sure if Knives is actually bi, or if she just experimented with an (equally drunk, though clearly bi) Kim.
Might as well ask why there's always gay guys instead of bi ones in these things.
There are actually more bisexual males than gay males IRL, they just get automatically assumed to be gay or secretly gay, even if they have a girlfriend.
Henry Williams
Snot Girl would be better if it didn't exist and BLOM spent his time finishing Worst World.
>While if a guy experiments he's going to be considered gay forever.
Just kill me now.
Andrew Cox
People are coming around, but it's still an issue. There just needs to be more pushback against the idea that someone is either straight or gay and bi people just haven't made up their minds yet which is pretty common among both gay and straight people.
Dylan Flores
Netflix show when?
Joshua Jenkins
S O O N
Matthew Young
Mexicans are Hispanic too, remember that.
Isaac Bailey
What's worst world even gonna be about? Like I love how it looks but I have no idea what it's about.
I'm beginning to think that he literally has no idea what it's about either and he just has a handful of characters he likes drawing.
Christian Gray
What's worse is when deadline eventually hits, he'll end up cobbling a loosely tied plot in the service of more opportunities to see notJackie in instathot poses
Jack Lewis
Depends on where you want to live. I haven't spent much time in eastern Canada but I hear it's culturally similar to the less urban parts of the UK. It's also super affordable but there isn't a lot of job growth. If you go to Quebec you're going to be surrounded by people who speak french as a first language except if you're living in certain parts of Montreal. Montreal is actually where I'm living now since it's super cheap and I want to learn french without being constantly immersed in it. The prairies can get really cold, but there are a lot of jobs out west that pay well and don't require a lot of education. The only real cities though are Calgary, which is boring as hell, and Edmonton. BC is the scenic province, it's also probably the most socially liberal one. The only real city is Vancouver which is expensive. Ontario is the last part of Canada. The north is relatively poor and rural, lots of mining and resource based jobs. Down south is where the big cities like Ottawa and Toronto are. Ottawa is the capital so there are lots of civil servants and government building, it's very bilingual. Toronto is Canada's biggest city and its cultural, artistic, economic, and intellectual centre. Everyone from outside the city hates on it and calls it boring, but it is actually great. There are stricter rules and regulations about alcohol and clubs then most big cities but there's still a thriving social scene. A new subway line was just opened, more buses have been put on the street and the routes have been better organized so congestion is less of a problem then it used to be. The biggest downside is that it is also pretty expensive and there it's difficult to even find an apartment.
Is there anything else you want to know?
Jayden Wood
They certainly would have been more waifuable but I don't think that's what BLOM was going for in that comic
Lucas Murphy
Bryan O Malley summed up best
Christopher Sanders
Hi miss!, you know the rules!
Ryder Parker
Give this woman money my friends!!!
Anthony Collins
if anything Wallace was ultimately a force of good because his behavior towards Scott did spur him to do something for better or for worse He was probably the most mature out of everyone
William Roberts
Just watched it. Did not like Michael Cera as Scott, too awkward. His performance was fine and everyone did a great job but I didn't see Scott Pilgrim when looking at him.
Sebastian Carter
>SJW Leave this place, and get back to rddt
Gabriel Martin
begone plateau/mile end hipster transplant Cera was a fucking horrible casting for Scott this is something agrees with about the movie
Parker Wilson
>Deep tan with white hair This is the pinnacle of BLOM's girls, and the attitude she gives off is extremely attractive. I hope he does something - anything - with her at some point soon.
Andrew Cruz
I'll be honest, I wouldn't even mind if he just kept using her for pinups.
Sure, fuck it, if that's what it comes down to. So long as he eventual sells those pinups in a print collection I can buy.
Tyler Evans
He sure knows how to draw
Jack Cook
>plateau/mile end hipster transplant This describes many of my friends, but not me
John Myers
Anyone else feel like the time is right for a Netflix animated series? I would kill for one that expands on the original comics. Maybe something like three seasons with two exes a season
Bonus points if fetish stuff happens like weight gain or hypnosis
Daniel Nguyen
I would kill for a High School Scott Pilgrim, just him,Kim and Lisa going on adventures
Nathan Ortiz
Absolutely would love this, especially if it focused either before the story or after as opposed to adapting it I'd assume the fetish stuff would be related to sex, but we can fit other fetishes in there
Jeremiah Nelson
Oh god, a season of what comes next would be great
Elijah Sanchez
that boat has passed senpaitachi however SP ended 10 years ago come 2020 I'd like to see a epilogue that spans from 2006 till the present
Gavin Parker
Nah, I think enough time has passed that it could be it's own thing now as opposed to a move tie in
Plus we'd finally get a better voice for Scott. We were robbed of that since BLOM turned down the Telltale game
Dominic Young
same. that would actually be just like O'Malley's super old comics
Connor Sanchez
I feel like the issue of an After Vol. 6 is Vol. 6 casts doubt on the entire series before it
How much of it is actual Urban Fantasy rigmarole and how much of it was in Scott's head?
Liam Brooks
>O'Malley's old comics
Fun fact, Lisa and Kim were the earliest SP characters
Adam Flores
>tfw you made a thread inspiring the storytime threads which reignited Yea Forums's love for SP >tfw this is literally meaningless as it would've happened anyway

Is Bojack Horseman literally just Scott Pilgrim? >both are assholes >both are alcoholics (Scott for stress occasionally, and Bojack to numb the pain) >both arcs revolve around whether or not a character can change to not be an asshole >both try their best to screw up every relationship they're in >both have jobs of sorts in entertainment (Bojack in Hollywoo, and Scott in a band) >both meet Asian women at the beginning of their stories Little bit of a stretch maybe, but there are similarities.
Nathan Walker
>le sad horseman

cheating is a sign of a bad quality boyfriend desu if the boy was willing to cheat on someone else for you, you can guarantee he will definitely cheat on you for someone else down the line.
Christian Phillips
this thread made me reread SP all night long halfway done #5
Thomas Perez
Yeah, I guess it's not so much hollow inside, but rotten, or spoiled.
We root for the caring jerkass because even though he often falls short, often a result of circumstances, he's still trying to be a better man. A well-written jerkass makes you wish you were there to give the bastard a hug and tell him things will get better.
The rotten asshole, on the other hand, has plenty of opportunity to improve but just pisses it away without trying (at first, anyway). Even as he's realizing how big a douche he is, I still wouldn't want to be around him. It's like there's something more fundamentally wrong there.
Jason Hall
Calling that a stretch is like calling Vesuvius a warm day.
Sebastian Rivera
> Millennials, no matter what year they were born, will always tell you about how little they think they have in common with other Millennials That's because we don't. "Millennial" is a term that was invented by older people. And for the record, I don't think that "Gen-X" is a real thing either.
Have you ever wondered why they call it that? Why they decided to call the people born during that time period "Generation X"? I looked it up, and it turns out that the "X" is supposed to signify an unknown, like a mathematical variable. The guy who coined the term was commenting on how lost and directionless and definition-less the generation seemed.
In other words, they're called "Generation X" because nobody knows what else to call them. That's it. That's literally it. It's a meaningless term defined by its meaninglessness: a placeholder phrase that we still use because no one can think of any better descriptor. And we can't think of anything better to describe them because there's nothing really to describe.
I mean... does anyone else even think generations exist at this point? What the fuck are we, cicadas? Now they're calling the generations after that "Y" and "Z." One wonders what the hell they're gonna do once they start running out of letters.
Don't get me wrong, the "baby boom" was a definable phenomenon. Soldiers coming home from all the death of the Second World War and wanting to affirm life in the most visceral way possible. But everything else is bullshit. "Generations," as the media understands them, are just a construct old people use to make sense of the world. It's no wonder that Yea Forums is so hung up on the boomer meme right now. All this paranoia about zoomers and Fortnight and tide pods... y'all motherfuckers are getting old.
I don't think Scott actually did anything wrong in that scenario. Envy just kind of outgrew him. Nine times out of ten, it's all Scott's fault. But I don't think that particular scenario was all on him.
Benjamin Thomas
The two best girls BLOM ever did were the first girls he ever created. How fitting
Daniel Wilson
Based hope you enjoy it
William Williams
I still can't believe how "Gen X" covers everyone born from mid 60s to late 80s, meaning my mom and my cousin are Gen Xers That's absolute bullshit to me. I don't even see how it can be beneficial from a marketing standpoint (the real reason said Generations were invented in the first place)
Logan Wilson
Y'know if you think about it that definitely paints Scott's character well. Scott has a habit of erasing his flaws which is why all he remembers is getting a haircut and then Envy breaking up with him. Effectively making him blameless. But we know from eye-witness accounts that he got drunk and made an ass out of himself in some sort of epic fight. Scott probably doesn't remember less because of the alcohol but because his biggest character flaw is his inability or refusal to acknowledge his actual flaws. So he's gonna ignore his part in the fight AND he's gonna ignore the parts where Envy brought up real issues that he has.cuz that'd require some...introspection.
Carter Myers
Aside from slowly showing that the main character is a narcissistic asshole, the show's have nothing much in common
Zachary Johnson
You were the user that story timed SP? Thanks for that, it was a nice trip down nostalgia lane
Adrian Phillips
Generations have existed for centuries now, the fact you whine about it just makes you look like a fucking retard. And no, you aren't special.
>late 80s
Gen X ends in 82.
>y'all
I like how you invalidated your non-point with a single word, so I didn't have to read the rest
Jonathan Baker
Ironically, Lisa and Kim would've been happier with each other than either would have with Scott alone
Evan Morgan
>He says y'all at the last sentence Yeah those 4 words you didn't have to read must have been a huge time saver
James Smith
I saw the word y'all before reading it and immediately noped out. Kys.
>generations existed for centuries now Only the post war (WWI and WWII) generations are the only ones that have any legitimacy. The rest are just marketing guidelines for demographic categorizing.
>And no, you aren't special Fucking seething here holy shit, I didn't expect to elicit that response from a simple comment
Connor Smith

Matthew Ramirez
Just get yourself out there if you want to see change in yourself, it's possible but not if you stay behind a screen your entire life Either that or be happy with where you are, I don't need to have that SP harem of sex to be happy with myself. Way more to life then that
