Rango is 8 years old
say something nice about it

I watched this movie on a plane and then I watched it again when I got home.

Amazing movie and criminally unpopular. Making Rango a chameleon is the best character design choice I've ever seen. Great story, great characters, great voice acting, I can't find a flaw.

Why wasn't there a sequel?

Kino.
Sadly a lot of normies saw funny animals and decided that it is a movie for children.
I remember my aunt spent the entire family gathering complaining about it after she watched it with my cousin.

>Michael Phillips of the Chicago Tribune acknowledged its "considerable care and craft" but [...] watching it "with a big suburban preview audience was instructive. Not much laughter. Moans and sobs of pre-teen fright whenever Rattlesnake Jake slithered into view, threatening murder."

Animated movie sequel usually sucks except Toy Story 1-3.

I watched this movie on a plane and people walked out.

This is the only CGI movie that didn't get outdated and only gets better and better the more I watch it.

Same here, actually.

I liked its thespian joke

wow i cant believe my all time favorite movie is old enough to have sex with now

Absolutely fantastic movie, still holds up today and I regularly re-watch it.

Best animated movie from this decade.

>2011 was the last time Hollywood did a good western

One of my favorite animated movies of 2011.

My kid liked it.

An amazing movie that's as underrated as it is well made. Also, Rattlesnake Jake is still one of my favorite villains.

Any detractor of 3d animation should be forced to watch this to prove how wrong they are about their biases for the art form.

Actual kinography

>Implying kids don't like being scared

fify

Beans

incredibly underrated, it's just that there's not much to discuss about it anymore so it doesn't get brought up. At least it did well financially, so it was worth making for the studio in the end.

excuse me?

Go to hell.

Where do you think I cum from?

I’m still baffled to this day how they got everything to look so right. I could really feel the thirst the animals felt.

It still looks better than most of today's CGI productions.

It was a legitmately wonderful movie that somehow actually got the recognition it deserved and still looks better than most animated films being released today.

It made me want to watch more westerns and I have very little actual interest in the genre.

... Th-.. The gun?

Gore Verbinski never went higher than this, which is bittersweet.

It a pretty good remake of “Chinatown” set in the old west starring a lizard version of Hunter S. Thompson.

>he hasn't watched The Ballad of Buster Scruggs

I went to see it with my family for my birthday and really liked it.

his point still stands

Beans a cute

The movie needs no further discussion of any kind we came upon the consensus its perfect in every believable way.

I fingered a girl at the theater during this movie. Her dad was in the row across the isle from me so I had to be stealthy about it. I felt like solid snake.

Good Movie, good Western, wish it was on a streaming service because I can’t find my copy.

not for lewd, sorry
in fact, fuck you for putting such images in my head

The animation aged like a fine bourbon and to this day probably remains the single best example of 3D animation done right.

I've been meaning for years to commission some high quality lewds of Miss Beans.

I'm just not sure who can draw really good lizard girls.

I still have fond memories of watching my this gem in a shitty, run down movie theater in my home town.

I don’t like where this is going...

Not only is it beautiful to look at, but the writing is also incredibly witty.

>It's 8 years old
>The CGI still holds up

A general lizard girls artist shouldn't be that much of a problem. Just lurk in the scaly threads on /trash/. Although Beans is a special case. You'd need someone a tad unorthodox to balance out her surreal cartoonish proportions and her detailed realism. Frankly, you might want to look towards a more Xeno related artist.

I can’t think of a single nice thing to say about it because there are too many nice things about it to choose from

>106252787
>surreal cartoonish proportions and her detailed realism.

It's hard to find someone that can pull that sort of thing off.
They'll try to pretty it up or something

Meandraco or Hattonslayden might be able to pull it off.

Truly an excellent movie. Saw it under recommendation by an old lady I once worked with.

When I saw it in theaters, some little girl a few rows in front of me wouldn't shut up to her mom about wanting to see Gnomeo and Juliet again.

The trailers I saw didn't convince me at first, but eventually I saw it and it's legitimately great. Advertising it as a Nickelodeon movie didn't help it get an audience sadly.

Bizarre that he went from this to Lone Ranger and this is still the better western.

This is my favorite scene, kinda encapsulates the movie:

Rango: [wakes up in the middle of the desert and finds a golf cart with Oscars in the back] Golden guardians. The alabaster carriage. [sees the Spirit of the West] The Spirit of the West. Um, excuse me, Mr. Spirit, sir?
The Spirit of the West: [picks up a fishing hook] Ah, there's a beaut. Sometimes, you gotta dig deep to find what you're looking for. [to Rango] So, you made it.
Rango: Is this heaven?
Spirit of the West: If it were, we'd be eating Pop-Tarts with Kim Novak.
Rango: Yeah, no kiddin'. What are you doing here?
Western Spirit: Searching, same as you.
Rango: Yeah, I don't know what I'm looking for anymore. I don't even know who I am. They used to call you "The Man with No Name".
Mr. Spirit of the West: These days, they got a name for just about everything. It doesn't matter what they call you, it's the deeds that make the man.
Rango: But my deeds only things worse! I'm a fraud, I'm a phony! Those people need somebody. They need a hero.
Mr. Spirit: Then be a hero.
Rango: Oh, no. You don't understand. I'm not even supposed to be here.
Spirit: That's right. You came a long way to find something that isn't out here. Don't you see? It's not about you, it's about them.
Rango: But I can't go back.
Spirit: Don't know that you got a choice, son. [draws a rectangle in a dirty window] No man can walk out on his own story.

Unironically the best western movie made in the last 20 years.
