I may be showing my age here, but even as a shipper, this is exactly the kind of thing I don't want in shows. At least, I don't find it necessary. Some things ought to remain in fandom, and some fantasies belong to the fans.

I guess shippers today are always fighting for canon. I don't get it, and to each their own, but remember that making one thing canon means taking another thing away from fans. Listening to fans too much is also an easy way to destroy shows, because nobody really knows what they want, they only think they do.
