Who will be the next Batman writer after King?
Who will be the next Batman writer after King?

Don't worry, it's only about 3 more years.
Bendis.
You know it's true and he'd do it just to have more Superman/Batman crossover stories.
Thank god, the nightmare is almost over!!!
I would like to see someone like Williamson or Vendetti take the reigns, but unfortunately it’ll probably be Bendis
Maybe if he manages to tap into something left from his independent/Daredevil years, he might actually be able to pull off something decent with Batman.
>not something more absurdly over the top like "The Epic of Kite Man: Book One"
Can you do anything right, man?
It's reins.
>having hope
user stop, he's never going back to that.
He's going to keep doing what got him the best sales, so a DC event on par with CW2 is coming within the next 2 years.
They will either get Bendis or Morrison. Who either wins, we all lose.
Well, I guess it's down to if he actually really likes Batman or he's just doing it to say he did Batman, as he has with pretty much every character he's touched in the past few years.
I just want somebody to go back to do some Rucka/Brubaker style Batman (I know Alan Grant would be too much to ask).
They've been shuffling Abnett around a lot, maybe they'll try him out there for a few arcs.
It’s kinda amazing that DC gets good hires marvel writers that shit everything up, for them to put it back together to hire more worn out and used Marvel writers
Bendis
Jesus fucking Christ the Kite Man forced meme was not funny once for one second
It is 100% Bendis. Bendis is going to take over Batman and Detective Comics.
Bendis doesn’t give a shit about Superman. He only took the book so he can say he wrote Superman and because King planned on staying on Batman til #105. He’s switch over to Batman the instant King leaves.
only a little more than a year if it keeps double shipping
It was funny the first time in the Swamp Thing issue, then King drove it straight into the ground
I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of Batfags suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.
Both issues always make it to the top 5 each month so they'll definitely keep it bi-monthly for the forseeable future.
I mean, Bendis himself has said that he went to DC because they promised him the Wonder Comics imprint. Superman was just an extra sweetener. Be afraid, Yea Forums.
He was still terrible then, too, just not AS bad as he has been for the last 15 years. He could never write for shit, but now he's also obsessed with leaving his mark on every character he writes and having a legacy.
Honestly, if there's one character that can survive Bendis pretty much unscathed, it's Batman.
Meh, DC on the whole have been trying to kill Batman for years so Bendis might just be the man that finally does the job.
I can tell you're talking out of your ass and never read his Daredevil because the latter part of your post also applies to that run.
Batman has been a fixture of the monthly top 5 since The New 52, and that's with two runs widely reviled by Yea Forums
I was referring to his Image days, dickless.
>Bendis gets Action Comics, Superman, Detective Comics, Batman, Batman Beyond, LoSH, Supergirl, Young Justice, and more.
This fucking guy.
>Image days
You mean the one Image comic he wrote? Riiight. Good ol' "Image days."
What if Bendis channels the powers of his younger self?
It's gonna be Tom Taylor or Bendis.
What should Tom King do next? It needs to be someone that suits his PTSD fetish.
Amazing Tom King got this far in the industry without being part of the tribe.
I think we can all agree who the next writer should be...
I just want to set the world on fire, so Titans. Or Superman.
Oh wow, he had hair? And here I thought he was always a chrome dome.
The tribe?
Frank Miller?
What happens when Bendis is writing every book at DC?
So what's with King and trying to make Kite Man his "thing"?
He wrote more than one comic. He did at least Powers and San & Twitch, and I think that he also worked in another Spawn spinoff, and probably some other stuff I haven't read and won't bother searching for.
He knows nothing else about his run will be memorable in a positive way so he clings to his "funny/feelsy" meme.
It will be Bendis.
The question is will Bendis take over both the Batman books? (Batman and Detective) like he did with Superman?
Like many things, King let something people praised him for in his earlier work become his "thing," thing he proceeded to run that thing into the ground.
I can't take this much more of King. Place Scott Snyder back in the book or something, but please do something to stop this madness. I've never seen a writer that hates a character so much be given such a control over said character.
>Place Scott Snyder back in the book or something
NO.
At this point Tynion over King. Anyone over King, in fact.
Isn't there anyone new to come off from 2000 AD or something? Maybe we need a second British Invasion.
I could be dead in 3 years, everybody could be dead in 3 years. I can't wait so much time
I feel like he only did that because his idol John Byrne did it first.
How many books is Bendis (regularly) writing right now anyway? There's Superman, Action, Young Justice, and Pearl as far as I know. There's also Naomi but he has a co-writer so I wouldn't be surprised if Bendis only gave the plot outlines there. I don't know if his Walmart Batman thing is still going although I feel those features are written in bulk beforehand. Still, that's at least 4 and a half books per month, plus his other creator-owned stuff that he feels like writing every once in a while like Powers.
Young Justice too
Ewing, Williams, and Spurrier are former 2000AD writers. So is Abnett but he's been around the Big Two scene for longer obviously.
I did mention YJ
They counted it. I remember that when they announced Bendis going to DC I thought he was first going to write Batman/Supernan/JL and his second book was going to be Titans. It ended up being Young Justice but close enough.
with the current 2 issues a month, how long til King's issue 105 comes out/when should I look forward to #106?
I'd be down for that.
>I have a strong opinion about shit I don't actually know anything about
You're on the right board, user!
With no delays, around late May next year.
he's a bald chubby white guy , literately like 80% of comic writers, except he also went to an Ivy league school
So obviously that wasn't the solution.
Priest
I would love Joelle Jones to write Batman but its gonna be Bendis and its gonna suck hard cock..
Loveness
Batman #66 is this Wednesday. 105-66=39. So about 20 months.
You're an idiot
Doesn’t matter who, Yea Forums will hate them and say they are the worst writer ever after 15 issues or so
Who the fuck even made this ? Cause they are a huge casual whoever the fuck they are.
maybe in an alternate universe.
Same thing that happen when he wrote every marvel book
Half true, they will be hated. But they will be better than King. Even if Bendis takes over he will be better than King. Even Snyder was better than King.
Someone who sucks
>leaving his mark
Oh, God.
>Joe Chill was a scapegoat, the real murderer waa Rogol Zaar
I would be very surprised if it's not Bendis. He seems pretty interested in Batman.
Fuck you. Stop.
>FOCK BATMAN
By making Kite Man the same depressed asshole as as made Scott Free, Batman, Booster, Wally, etc.
How bad has this board become that people look forward to seeing Venditti and Williamson write a book?
I’m sorry but I just can’t agree, Snyder made me drop all Bat related books during New 52, Bendis made me drop all X-Men related titles while he was running them into the ground. As bad as King is he hasn’t yet made me completely drop an entire franchise
