Tbf the swimsuit costume probably wouldn't look that good at all in live action and would end up looking really cheesy (like Wonder Womans 70s costume) which doesnt mesh well with the tone they try to give the MCU.
And from a business standpoint families are still pretty conservative in the sense that they wont take preteen children or even teenage children, to see a woman jump around in a bikini. And the family demographic is the most profitable demographic as you basically get 4+ tickets even if only 1 kid wants to see it. And families also buy the most candy in theatres s it makes more sense to appeal to them.
And it has some significance in the comics before the movie was thought of so I'm not that upset about the costume changen
