This is more then just making money of something known like Looney Tunes or DC or making a universe.
It's about reviving their HB characters and keeping them in popular use. Why do you think it's featuring characters that are eternally popular (Scooby Doo) and adding in Dick Dastardly and Captain Caveman as major characters

Being Shaggy killed Kasem despite him having the same immortal powers as Araki. They know they can't keep one person in the role for too long.

Until now it didn't make sense, why would they be both pissed at the crossovers and the adult adaptions that were critically praised and made them more notable?
Turns out it's because this is the way they want to revive many of the lesser-known characters, start with something they know people will watch like Scooby Doo and incorporate them.
That Scooby-Doo Team Up comic that established the characters being in the same universe? That was just the setup and planning for this

yeah, they want a animated cinematic for the HB characters. Johnny Quest, Jetsons, Flintstones are getting movies as well. Though I don't know if they will all be in the same universe cause that wouldn't really make sense. But yeah, they really want to get these HB characters back into the public eye again.

Maybe? This Scooby movie is confirmed to have a same universe and they teamed up with all the others that are planned to get one. Just don't know if they'll tie in together or if it's its own separate thing

Honestly don't like the current voice cast for the characters. They always came off like imitators to me, with the obvious exception of Welker.

Actually, I think it'd be pretty fun if the Hanna-Barbara shared universe was a crazy place where a sci-fi domestic sitcom setting, a prehistoric domestic sitcom setting, and a science adventure setting could all co-eixt right next to each other.
