Old running gag that most people forgot. Garfield loves Monday mornings because he knows he doesn't have to get up for a job like other people, but hates Mondays because he has bad luck and often gets in accidents on them.

Because Mondays hate him.

So you’re saying the value in a man comes only from his ability to work. That he is only worth hearing if you can still pull some of the energy from his bones and flesh to keep driving the corporate machine. Now you show your true face, capitalist swine. The revolution is on its way.

Garfield hates Mondays because as the sociopath he is they represent that a break from the tortures of work exist via the weekend, something communism can completely eliminate via 24/7 forced work

sexygarfield.com/

He just wants to shoot the whole day down.

Jobless people hate mondays more because mondays remind them that they don't have any job.

He was up all night listening to people calling him and telling how many people they have fucked.

Because Monday starts the work week for Jon and as much as Garfield teases/tricks Jon, he loves Jon and misses him while he’s working.

cursed

good theory

>spreading liberal, anti-labor propaganda
>by means of a corporate brand, through a corporate medium such as internet
The left lost the culture war by letting itself be commodified.

>I'm dumb enough to think totalitarian state capitalism is actually communism
It really is astounding how effective propaganda is on stupid people

Because fat fucks bitch the most. Look at feminists.

man, im worried about that raymond guy

>not real communism

new zealand is communist, that's why their flag has red stars.

I don't get this quote, is that implying that you are not obligated to work under commnism? Because even in the pure utopic theory you are forced to work by law.

Communism in this case refers to the "attempted" (aka one day when our dictatorship is done) stateless country and not when it actually works. Actual communism is not physically possible

new zealand is communist right now though

That's not a funny joke mister.

it's not a joke

Hi, my name is Adam Staybe and i have five sexsual partners.

I see where you're coming from but there seems to be some confusion. Social programs isn't the same as straight-on communism and I'm not talking about social programs that can work

NZ is one of the most capitalistic countries in the world.

>the heritage foundation
lmao

Can you start your own business on New Zeland?Yes?Can you buy and keep your own house? Then is not communism.

In communism no one own shit, everything belongs to the country, every single material possession, you live in a house that belongs to the state, the state gives you food, the state gives you medicine but it belongs to them.

>not TRUE communism
ah yes.
(also the USSR had private enterprise, so i guess they weren't true communists either)

Communism is Marx's inevitable post-capitalist political structure. Marxism is a modernist reading of history as class struggle leading toward revolution. Leninism, Stalinism, Maoism, etc. are oligarchical or dictatorial political doctrines that use the language of Communism and Marxism.

In Communism, the idea (not the reality, necessarily) was that the commune, the people would own everything collectively. The state may be a useful tool for facilitating collectivism, but in such a framework, the state and the people are identical. In reality, the oligarchs were the state, and they hoarded wealth and political power.

That's a capitalist's interpretation of communism. Actual communism there is no ownership. Everything is everyone's. There is no 'state' there is only your countrymen aiding you in the construction of the perfect egalitarian anti-austerity society.

Most 'communist' states are not communism because there never was the liquidation of the bourgeois' power, they mostly attacked the middle class while granting favors and privileges to the hyper wealthy and letting them become party heads.

The Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact as a whole was socialist. It wasn't ideal, democratic, utopian communism but neither was it just capitalism under a different name. These nation's have managed to all but abolish private industry and while I'm not gonna deny their deficits when it comes to democracy, human rights and personal freedom they still managed to create an alternative to capitalism. And, honestly, most people who've actually lived in these countries when they were socialist will tell you it was preferable to capitalism

>And, honestly, most people who've actually lived in these countries when they were socialist will tell you it was preferable to capitalism
you mean old commies which are like in their 80s? yea, old people prefer communism when they become grands
my parents live through end of commie era and guess what, they (like everyone else in their age) say that the best time in our country was during changes from one system to another, now everything is fucked up but just in different way
i don't know where you come from but i can say only poor people and patologic families like socialism in my country and noone who works like the idea to pay taxes just to give some shitters everything to live for free
t. pole

Nice meme. How many great cartoon characters are invented and thrive in centrally plannned socialist countries?

Garfield IS a product of Capitalism

>Can you buy and keep your own house?
the house you live in is your personal property
the house you rent out to others is private property
this isn't hard

They will huh?

Where millions of dissedents were murdered? Mass starvation? Industry grinding to a halt.

They won't tell you it was better.

You're doing a thing right now called LYING.

All socialist countries end up with needing armed men with guns to keep their people inside their workers paradise.

the best characters come from post-imperial social democratic monarchies
fact

Attached: 1546301210116.jpg (1440x1440, 311K)

And how do you go about ushering in "true communism THIS time", without mass murder and totalitarian supresion of human rights like free speech?

Look at the stats. In most postsocialist countries half or more of the people will say they had a better life under socialism. Not all of them, of course, but it's the case in Russia, in Bulgaria, in Ukraine, in Slovakia... Hell, even in East Germany, which, unlike any other postsocialist country, was almost immediarely integrated into a wealthy, capitalist democracy, many people preferred the GDR.

"You don't hate Mondays you hate capitalism" means that the shitty feeling of the weekend being over and having to drag your ass out of bed early in the morning to go to a job you dont like but have to do anyway is a good example to us to sum up how capitalism is bad in a nutshell.

Plus under utopian communism in theory we would not have to work, the term communism as used by most communists refers not only to a society without states, classes and money but also specifically to a society in which advances in technology and production techniques means that all peoples needs are met without most people having to expand more than the bare minimumof labour to aquire it. Think of Star Trek where humans get everything they need from replicators and can therefore devote their time and energy to things like exporing the universe.

>In most postsocialist countries half or more of the people will say they had a better life under socialism
Yeah and most muslim women believe that living under sharia is better for women even though they turn into literal slaves from their husbands being legally forced to follow any of their orders under phisical punishiment from the state itself

Those fags were brainwashed.

Allowing differences for specific times & places - workers in the preindustrial era were allowed a substantial amount of discretion & independence for how they conducted their work - especially if they were master artisan with their own shops. Farm work was dependent on the seasons and for much of the year even a serf might not have to do any formal labor.

Some depression expert on Joe Rogan recently said the main causes for unhappiness at work are:
A) how much youre controlled by others
B) how much youre humiliated

IDK how right he is, but premodern workers were probably better off in both of these aspects than many wage slaves today.

>abolishing work is now anti-labor
user, i...

Jon is a cartoonist who works from home, please learn the lore before you spout off this kind of dipshittery

Just look at figures on life expectancy, unemployment, crime rates etc, look at the Balkan wars and all the wars that broke out in the former soviet states. Russia and former soviet states and eastern Europe went to shit after the restoration of capitalism and took years to recover, some still haven't that's an objective fact.

I personally don't believe communism is achievable before a post-scarcity economy as there is no way to take down the hyper-wealthy, however to keep entire countries from collapsing a welfare state must be mandated to keep the working class from radical thinking.

Because President James A. Garfield died on September 19, 1881, a monday.

Cause he cant get his enchiladas

Hey is that Bill Murray?

This is a nice, on-topic thread that will be very relevant to this board.

Retconned.

Because it's literally a day that's out to get him.
Have you even read the strip?
