I always kinda hated the term pulp cause I never really understand what a person means. In pop culture it basically means anything genre, but it's more of a medium definition. And it just all gets confused in my head.

I guess I do...I like 2000 AD

He killed Shrek and Grimace!

They were called pulp comics because of the material used to produce them; woodpulp, which was quite cheap to buy at the time.

The dude whose just club the thing to death with his shotgun is hardcore af

why is one of the bad guys in his underwear? did he lose a bet

It's more of a style than anything since the pulp magazines on their own had many genres

I want a revival of this guy.

These all look fun and cool and weird. Fuck, why cant we go back to this level of illustration skill?

Pulps aren't comics; they're text stories with the occasional illustration. Pulp comics would be comics inspired by pulp magazines and pulp-styled stuff.

>Do you like Pulp comics, Yea Forums ?
These covers look cool, but are they even comics? I thought they were magazines with text stories and occasional pictures. Maybe they still belong here though. Probably too lowbrow for Yea Forums to appreciate.

There's plenty of people with that level of skill, they just choose to do less realistic art because it's often more creatively fulfilling

Some guys conned the Australian government out of 25 grand to reinvent Australian comics. They make this short lived abortion with stories of rape, murder and cannibalism, including one about a space octopus that walks around eating people until it eats a homosexual in a public toilet and dies of AIDS.

I went to the release and lurked at the drawing board they had set up for artists to show off at. I got a picture of Judge Dredd drawn and signed by Mike McMahon, a genuinely nice guy. This was at the Sydney Opera House in 1996. The publishers were impressed with my drawings, asked me to draw some stuff for their displays there. I didn't want to draw for the comic because it was degenerate shit, i was 15 and it was just more of Aussie stuff being derived from US stuff. Will Eisner was there, Jim Steranko too. The comic was the 80s spawn of US pulp horror like EC and it died after three issues, no more govt funding for comics ever again, so that's good i guess.

Pretty much the basis of my creative imagination.

sorry, 1986, and it died after 4 issues, the artists carried on being outsider incel fuckwits but never did much worth looking for. Sometimes i hate this country and it's beige mindset.

Indeed I do!

That seems really stupid, yet really fun. I'm generally opposed to dumb edgy shit like Crossed because I'm not a child but I wish more of it existed in general.

Cool shit OP

You forgot the best one OP
