Characters who objectively did nothing wrong. I’ll start:
He cute thats fo sure.
If only his best friend in the whole world saw that too...
trying to kill the princes is the only thing why I can't 100% side with him
It would only be an accident, user!
That's completely normal in a dynasty change, you burger. Why do you think there are multiple dynasties through history?
He's about as good at diplomacy as i am in Paradox games. People get one chance to do what i want before the army shows up
>Charged in to risk his life to help 2 people who were knowingly sacrificing themselves, even though him dying would render their sacrifice pointless anyway
Viren's an idiot who doesn't understand the consequences of his actions
10/10 post
Ok yeah that was dumb
It does show that despite his outbursts, he does care. Unless of course its gonna be revealed later on to be some unreliable narrator shit and he secretly went back to make sure they were taken out of the picture.
If there aren't some shenanigans going on with the queen's death I'll eat my hat
Why pretend they did nothing wrong? These characters are great because they do wrong and give no shits.
But Viren was right all along, user
>implying he didn’t kill her so he could have Harrow to himself
careful hat eating user, you don’t want to be like the Blu Ray guy on Yea Forums
>kills dragon king who was not a threat to humans and only guarded the border, causing current crisis
>gets sour when his bromance with king goes south and puts his soul in the bird
>orders his son to murder two childhood friends
>imprisons Gren so he can operate with impunity
>conjures magic monsters to terrorize other kingdoms, all to escalate cold war into open war
>puts a stranger's tongue worm in his ear
Quit with this dindu shit. Viren is great because he's a colossal fuckup that keeps trying to do what he thinks is best regardless of the consequences.
I call it "friendly phrased ultimatums"
>was not a threat to humans
Yeah, I bet you like to think separating blacks from whites was a good thing. Bet you support it now.
Well when you put it that way...
Based
>spoiler
really?
Giving blacks their own country would put an end to race riots and and endless bitching about oppression and privilege, Mr. Goldstein, sir.
>Bypassed proper channels to organise an unorthodox royal meeting
>Tries to convince baby queen who is against them by telling her the tale of how her own mothers died, bet she never heard that one
>Obviously fails, dooming himself
>Has no trusty shady enforcers to entrust the dirty jobs, having to rely instead in his kind-hearted, dim-witted children.
He did plenty wrong. Also, this hasn't happened yet but
>Put your trust in an elf to plot your strategy in your war against elves.
>starts a war that will cost 1,000,000 lives by poaching a magma bro to save 100,000
nah, Viren is a retard. But keep up the bait OP, you dick sucking faggot.
The war wasn't on for killing a stupid magma giant, nobody cares. It's that Harrow and Viren killed the dragon king that brings about everything.
>dyke queens can't feed their people
>Viren the fuck up has a great idea
>break a 1,000 year old treaty by invading the elf side of the continent with soldiers and poach/murder a rare creature from the other side
>oops butter fingers Viren dropped the ball and three queens get whacked
>ten years later the king with court jester Viren take revenge on the dragon who killed his wife by killing said dragon and stealing his egg
>the elves send a hit squad in revenge for the kings revenge and start amassing troops because now it's on like donkey cong
Cut to 'din du' Viren
>but but but elf army with their aggression out of nowhere
Nah, fuck him.
Nobody would defend him if he wasn't human and all the dark magic bullshit was instead tied to the dragons and elves.
Ironically and unironically
Technically they're not invading if they're poaching the magma giant in the border. As long as they don't cross to Xadia, the treaty was good.
I mean, Katolis has bases on the border. If that's not in violation then neither is that hunt. As far as I know, that giant was about to trespass into Katolis!
>Technically they're not invading if they're poaching the magma giant in the border
The whole volcano is elf territory as evidenced by Thunder patrolling it for 1,000 years without killing any human monarchs and Viren went in with a small force because he knew he was invading elf land but please, continue to defend the buffoon Viren.
The dragon king killed the Queen. It's fair to assume the human king killed the dragon to avenge her.
>The dragon king killed the Queen
For unlawfully tresspassing on its territory with a military force. What was it supposed to do, politely ask them to leave?
This man would be remembered as the worst King in history and people of his nation would curse his name for generations. I bet they hold a holiday on the anniversary of the elves assassinating him.
He literally sentenced fifty thousand of his own citizens, the people he was sworn to protect, to die a slow death by starvation. Men, women and children. All so that he could feel benevolent.
What an utter failure of a king.
Entrapta and Scorpia. The cat is evil and, worst of all, a bad friend.
>as evidenced by Thunder patrolling it for 1,000 years without killing any human monarchs
>Aunt deafshield is permanently stationed at the border
Thunder seemed chill about that.
His wife was worse
>hey our sorcerer has worked out a way to prevent the 100,000 deaths if we kill a lava monster
>BUT WHAT IF IT CAN TALK
who cares at that point, lava monster can take one for the team
>who cares at that point
If humans are that desperate that they go off and think they are justified in acting like savages then they deserve to be retaliated against like savages.
Well here's the thing. When your population starves they tend to get a bit rowdy and head choppy. Or they move into neighboring lands to take the food and land.
Nigga was even willing to give up his own life to protect his din du king from the eldar hit squad.
But noooo black boi wasted the last moments of his life talking down to him. Even then, Viren still tried to diffuse the situation and explain that he was willing to give his life but nooooo the strong black man just kept dissing him.
He was right in dealing with the princes too. Both were underaged in a time when war is brewing and the country needed strong rulers. They didn't seem too promising either, a pansy white boi with 0 martial and the indolent trait while the other kid's a rowdy 6 year old and also black.
>everything you just posted
Also we already had this thread, it got like what... 500 replies isn't that enough ?
I wouldn't be as direct as the other user, but would honestly be hard pressed to say that killing a single creature to preserve the lives of tens of thousands of people wasn't the right choice. It's a hard one, but I'd choose it.
And yet in most media nobody is ever willingly to give up even a single human life in a reversal of such a situation.
Because the whole point of "hard choices" is that they should be hard, and a last resort when all else fails. You should always attempt first to find a solution where nobody has to be sacrificed, and if you find in media that those paths are possible, it makes you more eager to try them.
When the default instinct is "whelp, we need to choose who lives and who dies", that is seriously wrong.
But it's all smiles when they aren't human, right?
>tfw no more KOTOR
Oh his nation and populous would have instantly deposed him and executed him. Sending truckloads of food to a neighboring kingdom while children in his kingdom that that food would have saved slowly die of starvation while their parents watch? No way. That's a dead king.
The only reason it did not instantly result in rebellion in the show was the concept of giving away food while his own people stave is a liberal fantasy of the people wiring the show, like letting refugees in even if they rape, run over people with vans, or stage terror attacks.
I I had to kill a dog to save 10 thousand peopleC the dog would probably die. The magma beast wa shuts that, a beast. A rare majestic one sure, but human lives at the scale are much more important.
And it would never had been needed if the Elven kingdoms hadn’t banished humanity from THEIR homeland because humanity wanted to be included in the magic party with their own magic.
The elves are all “Oh no don’t do dat it hurts da animals and plants” but still eat the damn animals and plants. And even if dark magic is inherently corrupting, doing it to just the practitioners and not the entire damn race would have solved thing a bit better.
This is a story where humanity is doing its best while the elves have consistently been shown to be assholes who think they know better than the lesser humans. And the dragon king wa snot impartial. He didn’t keep elves out of human lands, only humans out of elva. Lands. He was against the humans. He was there to kill any pesky humans that decided to break whatever “treaty” was made between the elves and their human lessers
Honestly it is less that he did nothing wrong since he did fuck up more then once (which is part of what makes him likable) and more that compared to Harrow, who is framed as a "good guy", he ends up being far more sympathetic due having the will to actually try to make his kings bleeding heart tendencies to work.
Viren may been the one that sacrificed THE LAST FIRE TITAN or whatever, but Harrow is the one creating the situation where he had to do it to salvage a unwinnable situation.
Basically, Harrow kept giving Viren Trolley problems, and that makes him a asshole.
Elf genocide when?
See, the thing here is you are quick to "other" it.
As a supernatural creature, could it be that humans just don't understand it yet label it a beast anyway because it is convenient? Is it someone's "friend"? Would you be fine with illegals from outside your country coming in to murder YOUR dog, or say, an endangered (maybe even one of the last) of a kind of animal native to your land without your or your people's permission just because they say that it would help them when they aren't even supposed to be anywhere near there in the first place?
I’d murder your friend to save 100,000 dogs.
>elves come to kill the king and his son (even they knew whos fault is the dragon and the egg, always the leader)
>king gives up at the first sight of problems
>king conveniently doesn't give a fuck about protecting his son other than sending him away when there are superhero elves on the lose
>Viren saves the king's soul
>Viren saves his kid
>Viren tries to keep the kingdoms together in the face of imminent danger when they conveniently hide behind his back
>some priestess give him the lips rather leaving the kingdom in a sort of limbo with no ruler than appoint him even if temporary
>kids are making up some naive childish fantasy about saving the world in the most unrealistic way and expect to not die
Viren was right all along.
And of what use would that be? There are so many dogs that the majority of them would either be destroyed, or become a public menace due to having no homes because there's already too many of them and too little people willing to take them in. And they'll all die within a decade or less anyway.
Raise my dog army to invade Xadia.
I’ll just put some glitter on them and say that they’re magic dogs and the elves won’t be able to touch them.
Holy shit user saved humanity
All in a day’s work, friendo.
Let's face it dragons are assholes. That one Claudia shot down was the same. It thought threatening people is some god given right.
>If I had to kill a dog to save 10 thousand people the dog would probably die
... "probably"?
Quit making this thread.
>Liberia.
Harrow was an idiot.
I wonder if they had that be one of the first things he pulled, just because they knew he'd be too easy to root for otherwise?
>It thought threatening people is some god given right.
What if it literally was a right granted them by the gods of the world?
Of course. Animals are food.
Probably? That dog would die faster than Sonic the Hedgehog.
>treaty
This is wrong. A treaty implies it’s some sort of mutual agreement between two equal forces, the elves and dragons forced all of humanity into the non magical lands by force and banished them there and kept them out with the fucking dragon king killing any human who would try to go back to Xadia, their homeland.
Then misoteism is the only choice. Kill the elf, the dragon and the god.
Then the ones who created you and your world clearly have the right to respond in turn and destroy you for your hubris.
Humans are animals too though
No. By legal definition. They are not.
And they will fail. Like all the extinction events that failed to kill us and only pushed us into shaping the world into our own image. Kill the elf, the dragon and the god.
He's hard. Hard for elves.
They would not be a god then, if they could be defeated by their own creation.
Today, we use our power to fell a God, and then seize our destiny!
Prideful posturing which ultimately has no meaning. We consider lesser animals separate from ourselves, yet I am sure a superior creature would consider us animals in just the same manner that we use to distance ourselves. Humans get sick, get hungry, get cold/hot, get dizzy or tired, get hurt, and when those conditions persist long enough or are severe enough, we die. Just like every other animal.
I’m aware enough of my own ability to be a hypocrite in stressful situations like all humans that I won’t say definitely. I would like to think I can make that descision though.
I would not be okay if it was my dog, but that’s cause i’m hypocritical meat person. Logically, my emotional connection to another neat creature is not worth the death of 100,000 thousand or even a thousand. Hell, I may understand if it was explained to me, or maybe I won’t. Those lives in danger do not deserve to be in danger because of my descision.
The hero Viren wish he could be.
Agreed, if those gods let this happen to humanity for petty reasons, they do not deserve our worship. Only our eventual enslavment of their entitled asses.
That dragon threatened the village for days, and when they fired a warning shot it went into genocide mode immediatly.
I wish it had died so Black mage girl could have gotten what she needed from it. The Xadians, elves and non elves, have effectivly made themselves enemies of humanity with every descision they make, and wonder why we hate them.
So a human life has just as much worth as another animals life. So a 100,000 human lives is worth more than some Magna monster in the middle of no where.
Pretty sure that’s how we see the elf whose descision it was the super trail of tears us.
