This movie was playing on some channel that my parents' dead cable package has.
It's fucking weird because at times, this movie has decent animation, and it's really expressive, but then the next scene will be incredibly sloppy and hold on odd frames. Who the fuck made this movie?

The guy who wrote House Party (Wedgieeeee Hudlin) teamed up with Hyperion (the studio that made Brave Little Toaster) and they somehow managed to get this made. Bruce W. Smith directed the movie and designed the main characters. It looks like they keyed the good scenes in house and sent everything else to Taiwan. Cute movie
it also has the esteem of having one of the worst video games of all time

Comedy tends to be subjective but yeah, Harris was of the older guard. He would get up and just talk about every day comedian shit but with black flare. Shit you saw in the neighborhood as a kid, relations with women, dumb stuff your parents and family said/did, etc.
Bebe's Kids is like what happens when the planets align. Something you don't seen very often.

I wish Bebe's Kids had better jokes, I saw the movie on BET as a kid and when I came back to it was relatively tame??? The best scenes are the confrontation in the bathroom, the loveboat sequence, and the ending but nothing made me piss myself with laughter or anything. What we have is just.. a very important film. A movie based around someone's standup act should do more than just elicit a few snickers

Standup comedy doesn't really translate well to a movie format though. I think they knew they were doing a more laid back cute tone instead of a gut-buster.
