Karma’s a beach

good story but not enough skelingtons

i remember this with Leslie Nielsen

>Get in the fucking hole Shinji

nice op 9/10 spooks

What kind of chances would you have if you attempted to dig your way out by using your chin and mouth as a make shift shovel?

Attached: 1543346493497.jpg (554x603, 199K)

Yeah, that was great

Nice, i don't think you see stories like this on Yea Forums often

This was in that Creepshow movie right.

ya

Creepshow adaptation is actually better. Its hard to do dread in a comic format when the reader is in control of the pacing of the story. Video-wise, you're left to slowly watch as each wave comes in and recedes...

Huh, don't remember this episode of Sealab...

Well, boff you too.

Damn it, I must have deleted my short story of Harvey Kurtzman. It was about a TV crew who went to a haunted house.

Not much, you cant displace enough sand before it fills back the hole

It's the other way round. The comic is an adaptation of the movie, it was an original script by Stephen King.

Yay Leslie Nielson

I've never lived near the ocean. Does the tide really rise that far? He looks pretty far out and a number of feet above the waterline.

Yes. The range depends on where you are.

Pretty much zero.
There was one of those "testing theory" kinda shows (like myth busters) that tested digging your way out of being buried alive in sand.
1. If the sand is tight enough you can't expand your chest you'll eventually sufficate even with your head above ground. So if the sand is loose enough to shift into any empty space made by your chest when you exhale you'll die in minutes.
2. The key is to slowly dig out with your hands and fingers by expanding the hole you make around them. For this to work you are needed dry dirt/sand that will stay compact when you push it around/away. Once you're dealing with wet sand (like what you would that close to the tide) the wet sand won't compact and will shift back into place right after you push it away. Thus making it impossible.

They kind of deserved it though.

Truly, being cheated on allows you to bury those who have wronged you alive.

Don't you have some acid to throw into a woman's face, Achmed?

He's gone too far this time

I remember my high school library had a copy of this, shelved with the Steven King books.
This was before libraries everywhere started carrying "graphic novels," and IIRC I don't think it ever carried any other comics while I went there.

Teenage me absolutely went nuts over this thing. IIRC this story worked much better in the movie, but I thought that The Crate and Father's Day worked much better in comic form.

when you actually marry someone in good faith, you've basically devoted a significant portion of your life to them.
To destroy that bond is to ruin a person's life.
If you're too much of a thoughtless animal to keep yourself from buggering everything within arm's reach don't get married.
Seems simple to me.

Is that the one story where Morton Downy Jr played the main guy in Tales From The Crypt?

Father's Day was creepy as fuck, I can still recall the splash page of that "cake" very clearly despite it having been years since I've read it.

I think he'll be dying of thirst.

Is Creepshow the best depiction of comics on film? I'd say yes.

Destroying that bond doesn't justify murdering two people in cold blood and jerking off to their suffering.

Other way around ya dink.

What the hell are you talking about? It's a film that's obviously trying to translate the experience of reading a comic into an audiovisual format, with the exaggerated angles, the lighting, the over the top acting, etc. I think it does a better job with it that something like Sin City, which tries to do the same.

this movie was 70% revenants

I found it - I was thinking of this one:
youtube.com/watch?v=81ks0mVWiJw

It's literally inspired by EC horror comics, dumb dumb

How did they test that safely?

By burying a dude and having a whole crew with cameras around to help.

Spoken like someone who either has never been cheated on, or never really been in love.

If you want to act like an animal, that's fine, go live in the woods.

>He thinks he's above animals
Get a load of this cuck. Newsflash: Have you ever wondered why people do crazy shit? You might put on pants and a shirt, but you are neither vegetable nor mineral, my friend.
...unless Broccoli finally got smart enough to operate a keyboard. Shit.

You seem to be mistaking infatuation with love.

youtu.be/lyyXxQ48XJY

Nah, that's still Sin City.

I used to think so, but I rewatched it recently and it hasn't aged well at all, while Creepshow is still as great as ever.

Animals aren't sapient. I'm amazed you know how to breathe in the first place, let alone use a computer.

Generally EC comics only had bad people getting killed in a gruesome manner. I think it was part of the comics code or something; that's why it was never random innocent people getting killed by an evil Santa Claus.

The weird thing about this story is that Harry is kind of a shitheel so it doesn't feel like the old guy really deserves his death. If you made Harry the POV character and then had his drowning be the climax of the comic rather than the introduction it would still be a perfectly reasonable Tales from the Crypt story.

>Humans are sapient
>Humans are also, in fact, animals
>Sapience has nothing inherently to do with emotional-ass lizard brain responses, nor morality or a lack thereof
Not sure what any of that has to do with me breathing or being able to type this...

Animals aren't sapient, humans are. Humans aren't animals.
You're literally a detriment to the gene pool and I hope you never breed for the sake of humanity.

I feel like you aren't arguing in good faith.

Boff you motherboffer!

I saw the Creepshow antology movie that had that story when I was a kid and i was afraid of Leslie Nielsen for awhile.

the blooper reel for this scene was gold
"Already dead…"
'Already dead…"
"I just said that…"

This is from the movie adaptation. EC Comics had their own font.

>The key is to slowly dig out with your hands and fingers
It took nearly a day iirc

>EC Comics had their own font
I have never once liked that shitty typewriter font EC and British comics favor.

I want you to know that was a 10/10 post. Congrats.

Honorable mention.
