So they really made Negative Man gay?

who would have expected the long awaited DCkino would be about these guys, instead of superman, batman, or other famous ones

Negative man doesn't have a dick nor has always been a man. So moreover its a non issue.

It's already in the name.
>Negative Mam
That's code for faggot.

why couldn't they just use netflix or something

You want kino?

Kino? 5 dolla.

5 dolla kino.

Because they want you to pay for their own service, watch the TV shows, read some of the comics and go "huh, this is neat, let's buy the rest in trade"

They want their own piece of the pie. Same with Disney.

> new episodes of Doom Patrol AND JoJo on fridays

Fridays just got even better my lads.

Attached: 9wDAHtoLwhTNGdbErGMEJzT2pN2Psw0qX8RUVzjVbas.jpg (640x769, 69K)

When does this drop anyway?

about 30 mins

Is the DC streaming service worth it? I don't want to get it just to watch one show.

The comics selection and backlog of other shows and movies makes it pretty worth it imo. They’re adding the 70’s Shazam! series pretty soon if that’s any incentive.

He still has his comedic timing. that argument with him and Vic about the goat was hilarious.

Swamp Thing will probably be worth watching, but just fuckin' pirate it like the rest of us my dude

He had a wife and kids. He’s bi; something Hollywood and gays forget that exists.

Once Negative Man was a hermaphrodite.

FUCK KEKFLIX

>one show
What about Titans? YJ?

Anyone else drop after the second episode? The performances are good and a lot of it works, it's just really not weird enough and a lot of the writing is really cringy. DP really deserves a high budget, high quality artsy prestige style like Legion. This feels like CW with some fucks and some attempts at Deadpool humor. Not trying to be a hater.

Attached: doom patrol 33.jpg (1329x2026, 444K)

Anyone who's read Grant's Doom Patrol?

I watched three episodes of Titans and I didn't like it.

I can accept that it's a good show that isn't trying to exactly imitate the source material, but instead present a version that allows mainstream audiences to get a feel for what people like about weirdo comics.

We're 2 episodes in with 13 to go, it's gonna get weirder.
Also Legions tone wouldn't work for DP because it takes itself too seriously a lot of the time. I agree that we need more dramatic moments but shit man episode 1 was filled with that with their backstories.

The shows tone is closer to Ways run than Morrisons though but I enjoy it as a mish mash of every era, which is probably the best result you can get out of an adaptation because otherwise it'll be too divisive and not in a good way. Also keeps it fresh for people already familiar with the characters

Comics got better after everyone bitched and moaned about it and they caved
70s Shazam is cool though

It was a donkey.

his voice still cracks me up
>YES GOD DAMN IT THE DONKEY

>Silas was J'onn back on Smallville

anyone got a mega?

Is there any Mega link out yet?

Not sure.

i am a needy user as well

It's just 720, but this one is up.

Thanks!

Based and Quadpilled.

>high budget, high quality artsy prestige style like Legion
And since when "Legion" is high budget?

I'm assuming it's Penny Farthing since it made a brief appearance in episode 2.

Eh...She did?

I didn't notice.

Based and DCpilled

It was that scene where she switches between like 6 personalities in 15 seconds before she goes to Baby Doll and talks to Cyborg. Same scene as webm.

That would expain why I didn't notice.

This version of Jane is 50% Hammerhead, 5% Not Hammerhead and 45% Hammerhead but not actually a massive cunt.

I dont like what they did with negative man, wheres my hermaphroditic negative man

Von Fuchs seemed to be really okay with 'dying' there, he's not actually dead, is he? he just jumped bodies, I'm guessing.

Doom Patrol is going to be a Supernatural Reunion show

What happened to not feeling anything?

Electricity... his only weakness...

I'd assume it a quirk of the Hoodmen.

Or it could be the fact the Hoodmen take the energy of forgotten words and convert them to electricity.

Rebis is too weird and alien to get right off the bat. It's a much smarter choice storytelling-wise to give us Larry first because his pathos is more grounded. But Larry's arc through the season is obviously going to be making peace with the negative spirit, and I expect when that happens, or shortly after, he'll fuse with Dr. Poole (who we'll almost certainly meet along the way) to give us Rebis and shake up the team dynamics for season 2.

My only "gripe" with Larry is that they shouldn't have given him Rebis' outfit, but it doesn't really upset me because I love the design so much.

Some user hook me up with some essential doom patrol reads. Which runs are better/worth reading?

Apologizes, but I overslept. Uploading here, already 40% done

>The Brain and Mallah are the Main villains of Season 2

This is in 1080p btw

OG Silver Age (My Greatest Adventure #80-85, Doom Patrol #86-121) is good, especially for its time, but it is a little dated. If you don't have much tolerance for old comics you probably won't enjoy it very much, but I recommend giving it a shot.

Then Doom Patrol relaunched in the 80s but it was mostly trash for a while. The must-read here is Grant Morrison's run (#19-63), but for novelty's sake you can start at #14 just to meet certain characters.

There are other runs that you can check out later, but Silver Age and Morrison is where you should absolutely start.

boy, it's going to be the most overrated show on Yea Forums, isn't it?

It's up

Yeah from what I gathered from a quick search was that Morrison had done it best. I'll try the silver age stuff first just to give it a taste. Is the series drawing inspiration from a particular run or is it just a melting pot?

>not signing up for the stream and spamming positive Brendan Fraser stuff everywhere on YouTube Twitter etc
Pathetic

US only, so can't.

>that guy who always has to bitch when people talk about things
Grow up

shut up, I need something to fill my AoS hole.

that was a good pun 10/10

>Is the series drawing inspiration from a particular run or is it just a melting pot?
It's mostly drawing from Morrison, but with a healthy dose of Silver Age. For example, Rita's completely absent from Morrison's run and Larry is effectively a totally different character. Villains like Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man weren't really there either.

Robotman cutting that guy in half and beating a other guy with his legs was awesome

Is it a pun though if its still true? I miss my weekly dose of Coulson and company.

Did someone figure out where is that song from?

What song? You people keep talking about a song. I think it's all in your head.

Another good episode. Lots of good references like the Brotherhood of Evil and Niles' addiction to chocolate. Ending was tops with the rando customer being Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man. By the looks of it, we Cult of the Unwritten Book next episode. Hopefully we'll get the Pale Police in addition to the Hoodmen.

I really didn’t get, until this show, how much nightmare fuel level body horror there is for Cyborg. That poor fucking bastard.

I've been looking and haven't had any luck. I'm thinking it's a song made for the show and/or just hasn't been released yet. For instance, the song during episode 3's end sequence on the plane wasn't released until 3 days ago.

Holy FUCK Cliff is a goddamn animal.

Having a JLer on a team of nobodies that has no idea what they’re doing is steadily becoming a better idea. Doom Patrol is many things, but a cohesive team unit is not one of them. Having someone around that thinks tactically and has worked missions with Batman can only improve how they operate.

>You wanna fuck with me?!
>You WANT to fuck with me???!
Fraser is a god damned national treasure

COULD a Motherbox make color prints? Where would the paper come from?

I kinda want to see Fear The Sky and the Dry Bachelors

His ass!

So wait, is it actually Brendan in the Robotman costume, or is he puling a Vader and only does the voice?

But where does he get toner for his ass?

>"I'm gonna steal Brendan Fraser!"
Nick no.

Just the voice

Bomer does the same thing

Based Megafag with the quint get
Checked

I loved the first two episodes, but this one was kind of inept. I fucking hate American TV shows where random new writers come in every week and the quality of character writing, pacing etc wildly zigzags.

What would Aquaman need keys FOR?

To be clear, it's a different body actor for Larry only when fully bandaged up. Bandages off, horribly scarred, it's Bomer.

>This feels like CW with some fucks and some attempts at Deadpool humor.
I get what you're saying but it's still a few notches above the CW soap opera, just a few below being really exceptional. The potential to be great is there but not every show is going to have a stellar production team like Legion. I wanna see where they take the story line, so I'm along for the ride.

...so why the second actor? Why not just have Bomer and not someone else to wear the bandages?

The ocean is a dangerous place. You can't just leave your doors unlocked like some Canadian

Cut to Black Manta just trying the front door to the palace.

Scheduling issues, maybe. It's a lot easier to have them come in for a few hours of voice acting than having to fly them out to the set

Beats me. I get it for Brendan because he suffered a back injury and the Robotman costume would probably be too much stress to wear. But Bomer? It's obviously not vanity if he's willing to wear the burn makeup. Maybe it's just uncomfortable.

Gotta be fuckin hot under that suit with the turtle neck and jacket. Jesus those bandages have got to be RANK.

I really wanted Henry Rollins for Cliff, after he knocked it out of the park on Brave and the Bold (and cause I’m still disappointed about him getting snubbed for Negan, despite being the entire inspiration for the character), but I really am preferring Fraser the more the season goes on. I forgot how much of his character is an incredulous ‘WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK,’ moreso than the bruiser outraged at the world for making him live in it.

>1242 seeders already

thanks boys, I'm on university internet so I can't seed myself but thanks for all the good work you do

I’ve read everything from Morrison to Way, and I genuinely do not remember Larry ever getting this much development.

Best use of Nazi Punks Fuck Off possible?

Also, holy FUCK Cliff!

ANIMAL-VEGETABLE-MINERAL-MAN!

>Cliff realizing he's killed them all afterwards,
due to not understanding his own strength

Attached: 1487974849347.png (360x377, 367K)

But I mean, they're basically just people-shaped parademons.

Why is it never gross when the Justice League kills parademons? They're animate corpses shaped like enormous bugs, that's gross as shit!

I was a bit uncomfortable about Cliff and Jane murdering a bunch of people... but then I remembered that they were nazis, so it's all good

I mean, they’re just flesh puppets, so they’re more Nazi Zombies, making it doubly okay.

Holy fuck, I thought after the first episode it wouldn't be able to top it and fizzle out, but it is staying uber!

Attached: 1551436009303.gif (350x263, 1.48M)

Well if the whole puppet show was true he was a cientist that ended up working with the nazis, the world at large and especially the US basically pardoned everyone they could so that they would come work for them, not many people even know this but a lot of the tech that won the space race came from those german scientists, Project Paperclip I believe they called it. He himself didnt give me any nazi vibes anyway.

This version of Vic has never actually been on the Justice League or worked with Batman as far as we know.

The "in five years, I'll be on the Justice League" conversation with the Chief was from five years ago. He has, at the very least, 'consulted' with them at this point. His saying he never met Batman was more about trying to get that tourist to leave him alone than saying anything about whether they have a relationship or not.

I personally dont think he has worked with them at this point, the conversations with his father indicate that he's still working towards that goal, and I dont think we cant trust in all of Cyborg's memories, it has been heavily implied that his father has been messing with him we just dont know to what extent yet.

Has Silas always been this much of a bastard and they just downplay it everywhere else? If they do the 'Chief-Engineered-Everything' storyline, Dr. Stone is almost as bad as Caulder. Like, I get that Silas is deeply in grief over his wife, but he's got to come to realize what he's doing to his own son at some point...right?

>puppet show
Oh, I just got that.
Also, he talks about performing these procedures for those who pay, but who else has come out of Fuchtopia other than Morden? What if all the bodies he occupies were paying customers, and the only reason AVMman happened was because they interrupted the process.

This series is based on inspiration from ALL the runs. Larry's interpretation is from one of the latest runs, for example.

It will in my country. I'll put it on while I'm out for the day to support it so I don't feel bad about pirating it now

That´s the twist they´ve made in this show, cyborg is kept close to the comics but silas here does a complete 180 and goes from distant and workaholic to controlling and smoothering.

In the recent Cyborg Rebirth run by John Semper jr. Silas wiped out some of Cyborg's memory. The reasin that he gave was to protect him from the truama of the accident.

It will be on Space in April apparently

>This feels like CW
Because it's a Berlanti show

Nope, it's probably made for the show.

Who exists because Waid fucking sucked as an editor and couldn't convince Art Young to let Morrison use Constantine for a few issues.
At the exact same time that Morrison was writing a two-parter in Hellblazer

You would think they would use Constatine this time

God that two-parter sucked. How is Grant Morrison of all people so bad at writing John Constantine?

unionisation, voice acting itself is a second full gig.

Scotsmen can't write Englishmen.

I hope we get something Rita centric, I wanna know what her deal is with the baby. Also Niles Caulder totally caused their accidents.

>Sun Daddy: "I did something!"

Trailer: youtube.com/watch?v=tPfoo8TG_qA

Mark Sheppard is not!Constantine. Neat.

So what is up with Animal vegetable mineral man? I only know him from the Brave and the Bold DP episode. Did the person who make him got inspire by the "I Am The Very Model Of A Modern Major General" song?

He's exactly what he sounds like. An animal, vegetable, and mineral man.

>Justice league!! 2020!!!
Virgin Cyfag vs Chad Robotman

I can understand how he caused Cliff and Rita, but how he caused Larry accident?

Is the 1-800-SAW-1-111M number real?

So Fucker is the Brain right?

>"Justice League 2020"
at best hes been on the young justice shit they do now?

He only sabotaged the jet hoping it would crash so he could turn Larry into a second Robotman. Flying through the radiation belt was pure chance.

He was on a second, higher plane dropped the blue man ontop of him like a dick dastardly skit

I think Morden/Nobody's in the Brain's role, now, since he has the personal beef with Cauldier and is acting a bit more brotherhood of evil than brotherhood of dada.

>tfw Shelby will never find Hamibal Lector

>cliff wearing a black flag shirt
nice

Too good for normies who aren't subscribing All-American DC like patriotician. I wish Nuplebs censor all the gore for """""global""""" launch.

Attached: 1551058013580.jpg (500x731, 115K)

Do all of Jane's personalities act exactly the same to everyone else?

headache

what do you mean?

That or a locator on the plane that drew the Negative Being to him.

Except for when the show goes extreme with physical changes or the 9 year old she acts the same way all the time for pretty much every personality.

or the hangman's daughter

No, she still acts the same there just paints while she does it.

I know what you mean but I don't think its helped that the only time we see most of the alters is when they are fighting which generally means there's probably gonna be angries. At least Sun Daddy looks cool

i figure those dudes had it coming but how does robo get so easily into mauling? isn't he like a sad weenie?

You are right. Although it first stuck out to me with Fitch or the teleporter. I wouldn't have even realized she changed during that scene with it saying so because her being impatient was pretty much how she always acts.
In fact, I am not even sure now which power belongs to the base Jane personality.

When the fight's over Cliff is shocked at what he's done. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a reveal that the Chief installed some sort of combat programming.

Base Jane doesn't have any, its the rest that have all the powers. Also, I think it was Flit, the scottish word for moving. I think they should have been a bit more consistent with showing the alter changes this early on, they do it well in a couple shots but not so much in others. She gets a weird shimmer around her for some changes and not others, too - which is weird. But what I mean is they should focus a little more on the actual process of the change
>Base Crazy Jane
>weird shimmer
>hammerhead
>weird shimmer
>flit
>weird shimmer
>silver tongue
though I imagine thats hard to do in a scene thats moving that quick.

dude had to work some shit out.

>larry blames the negativeman for fucking his life up
>larry's life was already beyond fucked before the accident

This shit is just pure kino

Attached: spaced.jpg (640x360, 32K)

And the Negative Being is like, "look past your own nose, buddy."

Come to think of it, isn't the Negative Being a child?

>that avm man scene at the end
It's great

I see him as attacking Doom Patrol just cause it sounds like a fun thing to do. Not like, out of spite or malice but cause that's what he is now and he might as well enjoy himself. Certainly seemed to be having fun at the end there.

She is in fact a pretty shitty actress, as you noticed

Alan Moore is that you?

wtf is space

the final frontier

I never thought in anything I would ever see that character adapted.

At least he "Oh God. What´d I do?!" after the massacre

Attached: Animal-Vegetable-Mineral.webm (1920x872, 2.87M)

can you link me the plane song? would love u

Love the way his jacket flies back when he pushes the first two into the wall. Goddamn this show is so good.

youtube.com/watch?v=sZ-CYUBn6qo

I mean Nobody is taking the big bad role, but Fuck still has a vendetta against Caulder and was a scientist who did crazy ass experiments, seems rather Brain like to me... what if Caulder took Mallah

This show is actually... very good. How did this happen? Is Jeremy Carver just that based? Is it because none of the executives gave a fuck about a filler show of a D-list team so everyone just went off the walls with it?

>Destroys Larry's plants that were interwoven with the bus
>Tries to prevent the reunion between Hamibal Lector and Shelly
Jane is a terror and needs to be stopped.

It's ok. All the call number tags had been taken on the hamster poster so it had either been found or no means to contact her.

>He had a wife and kids. He’s bi
Really? I got the wife bit as being more about him being in the closet than him actually being bi.

Sorry but he's full on gay

Lots of gay guys had families in the 50s

A latin-american channel

Maybe the other guy is just better at acting with their body and without a face.

Some TV channel I think it's Canadian

Voice acting union rules means you can't have a VA do the body work, too.

Man, that guy really got a much better deal for himself than magnet feet.

Especially if you were in the military like Larry was. No wonder he’s been so completely repressing the Negative Being, he’s a fucking expert at repression at this point.

Brendan Fraser is Sam Rockwell levels of underrated as an actor.

Yeah, I just tried calling it. It's like fucking Life Alert though

What are some essential Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man stories?

Attached: 3265491E-69AC-437D-9C60-3E4B0ED5E390.jpg (540x722, 95K)

Have you never heard of a beard?

Did they seriously just glue celery to his hand?

He's all CGI except for the actor's head.

I like that they are not overdoing the Nobody narration. I never thought I would say this but Animal Vegetable Mineral man is cute.

I would have liked it if they had nobody at least doing the previously on narration

There aren't any, really. His two Silver Age issues and Giffen's run, I guess.

I read through Silver Age DP for the first time recently because of the show and something I found interesting about AVM-Man is that he actually isn't segmented like he's popularly depicted. He only ever transformed into one thing at a time. I figure he was drawn like this on the cover just to easily get across what his deal is.

Attached: il_fullxfull.1327429541_lzs3.jpg (1132x1626, 693K)

>He only ever transformed into one thing at a time
that's actually lame as hell

this sounds incredibly based and something they'd do

Yeah, it was. I imagine that's why all later appearances based his powers on the significantly more dynamic and visually interesting version originally seen only on the cover.

How quickly can they write Crazy Jane out do you think?

Where can I watch this?

Dwatchseries dot to

The show is literally perfect except for Jane, jesus. JUST STOP WRITING HER AS STRONG EDGY WOMYN

She has 64 personalities. All strong edgy woman.

Man... bierasure is a real thing.

>She has 64 personalities
You wouldn't know from the acting.

You fags need a civil war.

I legitimately don't think it's necessarily the acting that is the problem. I think it's straight up how they write her and the direction they give her. There is just NO attempt to act as something else which leans toward there just being no direction to act as something else.

I think it's everything.

She's like someone from corporate forced them to have a strong young female character and since it didn't matter how shit the acting would be they got the cheapest person available.

Yeah ultimately the main problem is that edgelord antifa strong young woman is just such an overbearing personality package that anything else kinda just seems derivative of it

Jane should've started off as meek and it even ties into her "nothing is in your control" narrative more.

both shows have the same lead writer

Jane's growing on me desu

Even with a meeker personality it doesn't solve her being a meta Swiss army knife. It was a problem in the comics as well but the plots were more abstract so it didn't matter as much.

No shit, I'm just saying in this particular case he doesn't show any particular love towards his wife compared to his gay relationship and considering the time period it's likely he just married her since that was the thing to do then.

And they both have hit songs

what exactly can animal vegetable mineral man do

everything an animal, vegetable, or mineral can do

>brendan fraser - clowncore

Attached: 1549536795535.gif (300x300, 1.22M)

better than beast boy?

He can do at least two more things than him so yeah

Loved the 3rd episode, this show rules.

I agree that the actress playing Jane isn't very good with portraying multiple personalities at all, but I don't see her trying to portray a "strong womyn" type only because the show doesn't really portray her aloofness or aggression as positive.

>only because the show doesn't really portray her aloofness or aggression as positive

Remember when she stapled a flyer to a guy's head and that somehow resolved the conflict?

I doubt it resolved it, people were probably freaking out and she got away

Loved the Dead Kennedys needle drop.

Am i alone in thinking Jane was better in this episode?

> IM GONNA KILL MYSELFFFFFFFF
> getting btfo by old man's dying words
> "spell it"

She was actually enjoyable and added to the show for the first time imo

>i'm gonna kill myself
good keks along with having to actually push the bus.

She was quite useful with the teleportation and
mentioning her blood to get more info.Bringing out the chief puppet at the end was my favorite moment of hers.

Someone needs to make a webm of the puppet show.
>puppet show
>them asleep
>Nazi reveal
>Jane waking everyone up
would be great webm to post anytime something uses Nazis as the go to villian. could make another be moving some scenes around where everyone is asleep during nazis and wakes up when its over

We know based on this episode the Brotherhood of Evil existed and that Morden was a part of them. I'm going to go ahead and say no, because 1) You're not killing off a character like the Brain that fast, 2) Brain has world domination priorities, not so much selling superpowers for profit, 3) Brain is French, Fucker is German. That last one isn't much, but this show is seemingly trying to be as accurate as it can.

I'm going to give it time. We still don't know what Nobody's even doing with Chief. He could be doing something as stupid and meaningless as a subversion of the entire season long villain shtick.

Jesus christ the woman that plays Crazy Jane is sexy/thicc as fuck.

She has solid quips (unironically) but that's pretty much it. She just doesn't act well through regular dialogue.

I think we'll just have to accept it as Jane not being the prominent personality, but Hammerhead. Sure acts like it. Jane was better this episode because she wasn't just a contentious fuckhead for no reason, but she's still not Jane.

Holy shit, it's Crowley. DP really is turning into a Supernatural reunion show.

I gotta say I'm actually glad this wasn't all dropped at once. Easier to digest all the weird shit

While we're on the topic of Doom Patrol runs, how was Gerard Way's DP?

It was OK. Very much like a kid in his Dads clothes with Way trying to be Morrison

He was also in a Batman: Brave and Bold episode if I remember right

Half of another motherfucker, technically.

Well he was an Eric Morden fanboy so going by that alone he might antagonize them.

Do you want to get Snake god cursed?

doesn't he wear goggles instead of sunglasses?

He also has huge anger issues.
So it could be some kind of innate combat program in his head or could just be he went into a rage in self-defense and realized afterwards what he had done.

Stop, there's literally two in the thread for 720p and 1080p. Why would you use anything else

I really like the series but they seriously need to stop with gay shit. I'm okay with Larry being full degenerate, it's a part of his character, but don't show it to our faces, it's disgusting.

I liked it a lot.

Wooo you're gonna love Danny the Street then.

And if they ever introduce Coagula or Rebis you're going to love it even more!

Diane Guerrero is improving a lot, she needed to step it up for the eventual Underground episode.

Also hype as fuck for the Cult of the Unwritten Book next week, if it's half as weird as the comic it's going to be awesome.

Fuck you Darren.

You think that Cliff will be getting upgraded or Rita will be able to control her powers further into giantification?

Oh I didn't know that

Maybe? Is making someone look big not that hard on the special effects budget? If so it's possible.

Yeah thats the main issue I was trying to figure out, they do a fair amount of it already so they might be able to.

>Giantess Rita gets stressed and turns into a massive blob
uh oh

The giantification would be a replacement to the blob. Instead of starting to melt she would grow or shrink randomly.

I don't know but Rita seriously needs to step it up, as it stands she's the most useless one on team.

Being useless isn't a problem for me. I'd rather have sixty four more Ritas than have to watch Crazy Jane for one more episode.

Need to build her up so she can be the most OP one on the team

Yes, Cyborg was mean and Rita was bitchy. It bugged me. I enjoyed the puppet show itself and the hallway fight.

Dude what? He loses his fucking shit when his wife leaves him.

Because she's his beard. Without her he'd have to face actually being a fag in the 50's, which was suffering and doubly so in Military

Why is Doctor Aphra in Doom Patrol? Is she less shit there than in Star Wars?

Same people who would have expected Marvel GotG

Yeah or maybe he cared about his wife and his fucking family? Why is that so unbelievable?

Kek the absolute state

TV shows are canon for MCU, Just deal with it.

The fact that no marvel movie has referenced any marvel tv show proves that you are wrong.

I never brought up the debate if it was canon or not, geez.

I actually think it's the only show that is really canon, thanks for the (you)s though

Didn't like this episode as much as the previous two but it was still solid. Brendan knocks it out the park in every scene he's in. Robotman smashing the puppets was awesome.

It's funny, most actors revel in the chance to do multiple personalities or alternate personas because it gets them a rare chance to show off their full range with the same baseline for contrast and expansion. This is the part that most actors who want to be taken seriously kill for.

Yet somehow she decided she's going to play exactly two notes, edgy asshole who can't be stopped and that one generic babygirl persona and she stuck with it. I don't know if I should put this on her or the writing, but I agree that it's probably both. The writing doesn't give her lines to convey difference and the actress herself isn't good enough to showcase any difference with body language or tone or just an addlibbed line. Both failed and she is by far the part that is holding back an otherwise damn good series from being perfect. Even Vic's actor is nailing it. Cyborg, in a Doom Patrol series of all things, looks like he totally fits in this universe and you believe his interactions with everyone else. It's this and everything else that makes me go easier on the writing team who are doing so well with everything else.

I just finished watching the episode too. I'm not a big fan of the Bavarian stereotypes, but I am pretty curious if that one guy with the raptor head will come back.

Does he voice cliff, or is it the dude who plays him in the robo suit?

>I am pretty curious if that one guy with the raptor head will come back.
He is a supervillain from comics named Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man. Of cause he will.

That's cool, nice to see that he's involved outside of just the flashbacks.

Why did you post a picture of dorothy tho

glad brendan frasier is coming back

Attached: file.png (720x900, 887K)

I'm pretty sure that Fuck was based on a character that had to sit in a little box to live that the Doom Patrol met in the silver age. He wasn't a Nazi, though. He ran some sort of vast Asian business conglomerate.

I mean she is anti-fascist

she's inherently against control

The fact that he is constantly "going out with the boys" in several towns leans to him being gay and not bi. A bi person doesn't just choose one at a time obviously but the fact that he is CONSTANTLY cheating on her with just dudes implies hes just fucking gay.

isn't
>going out with the boys
a generic excuse?

>Need to build her up so she can be the most OP one on the team
There's no way anyone's ever going to be more overpowered than Jane already is. She's literally just God except her personalities are lol so random and only resolve everyone's problems when they get bored enough to act.

Attached: jane.jpg (1500x750, 115K)

It's non canon. Captain Marvel will confirm that.

And yet he still lost his shit when she left him. That wasn't the reaction of a dude who was just worried about losing his fucking beard. Especially considering he also immediately broke it off with his man lover

I mean I feel like the way she said it that it was heavily implied he was going out with... the boys. I doubt he's just cheating on her with other random women all the time. That would be weird to make that one of his personality traits.

You can be romantically involved with a woman and raise a family, especially in the 60s where being gay might actually be a death sentence, but that doesn't make you biSEXUAL if you are going around fucking exclusively men all over the United States.

Legitimately why are you so invested in him not being bi?

He lost it because, to him, that was the final sign that a 'normal' life was forever out of his grasp. He didn't want her, he wanted what she represented: a life like the one he envisioned, the American dream. Without her, the door was closed on that ever happening.

You're projecting. The character is very literally and clearly coded as being a closeted gay man who was only with a woman, raising children, because he didn't want to be gay and wanted to have a normal life. Why are you trying so hard to change a character from what he is, into what he isn't? How is what you're doing not gay-erasure, when you're crying over it being bi-erasure? Good lord, dude.

to be fair, he is very clearly GAY and not Bi, so I don't understand why someone would attempt to argue hes Bi.

why are you so invested in him not being gay when he is clearly portrayed as just being a closet gay guy?

Like, the 'closeted military man with two kids and a wife at home, but is in love with their partner' is a pretty well-worn narrative trope at this point.

>man is shown on-screen to care about both his female and male partners, doing everything he can to maintain both relationships
>this man is GAY i don't make the rules *sips tea*

>And yet he still lost his shit when she left him.
Because he liked being a normal upper middle class guy with a wife and kids in a suburban paradise while working a cool job he enjoyed. None of that means he was sexually attracted to his wife. The way he wasn't attracted to his wife is what created the conflict between his desire to be normal and happy. That was the entire point. He told off the guy he was secretly having gay sex with after losing his family because he resented how his act was finally ruined and he didn't want to be reminded that he was some crippled burn victim homosexual instead of a perfect ace pilot family man.
I don't see how there's any other way to read this. Making him attracted to his wife would kill half the tension. You could replace him not being attracted to his wife with him losing his ability to get an erection like in The Sun Also Rises and it'd be the same idea, which is he wants to live that life but knows he can't.

>man is preserving his known social status by making sure his wife doesn't leave him while he is more emotinally invested in the dude
>HES BI AND CARES ABOUT THEM BOTH
if he IS bi, its clear he has a much more biased preference and that wifey wasn't it.

>if he IS bi, its clear he has a much more biased preference and that wifey wasn't it.
Did I ever say otherwise?

I've almost completely lost the ability to enjoy Nazis getting killed in modern stories, if only for the fact it suggests some far-left shitty writer with colored hair and problem glasses likely thinks they're making some kind of idiotic political statement about who they stupidly refer to as "Nazis".

God forbid they don't inject multiple layers of social justice bullshit.

to be fair, at least these dude(s?) were / was an actual nazi this time around.

>doing everything he can to maintain both relationships
He was portrayed as putting flying above everything else; going as far to constantly neglect his wife on a constant basis and interrupt intimate time with his boyfriend with flight prep questions. On top of that, he moved the family 4-5 times and continuing to neglect her (either by fucking guys or doing work) on a constant basis at each location. His relationships, especially with his wife, were at the bottom of his list of priorities.

What I want to know is, which one of Crazy Jane's personalities brought the bike lock?

It helped for me that they didn't take the easy road and make him a Nazi caricature spewing hate with every other word, which would have been obnoxious.

>being this guy
>still enjoying Doom Patrol

You are aware of who Grant Morrison is, what he does in his private life and what he believes...right? Fake Comics Guy over here.

He sounded a lot more sane than Crazy Jane.

Can you imagine being around this guy while watching the Big Lebowski or any of the Indiana Jones movies?

Shaking with rage every time the nihilists are referenced or being displayed. Steam pouring out his ears when Indy punches a Nazi. “OH ANYONE YOU DISLIKE IS AUTOMATICALLY A NAZI, HUH?!”

> if only for the fact it suggests some far-left shitty writer with colored hair and problem glasses likely thinks they're making some kind of idiotic political statement about who they stupidly refer to as "Nazis".
Von Fuchs was an actual Nazi, dingus.

>He sounded more sane than the character with crazy in their name
Well duh.

>he’s lying, cheating and not being his actual self to his wife
>he still desires her well-being and for her to not be negatively affected by his actions

Like...

>The Nazi villain sounded more sane than a protagonist
See this is a problem.

If you think using people as lab rats is reasonable you're probably just a horrible person.

shut the fuck up you dumbass

How is it unreasonable?
It's certainly not moral, but it's an effective action to take for a number of goals

Calm down, fake comic nerd.

Weren't all the people paying him for it?

The people that the Nazis were supplying him with sure as fuck weren't paying him for it, nor were they willing.

Committing an atrocity is not a reasonable way to achieve "a number of goals." You are, indeed, a horrible person.

You are basing this on what? Cause we get zero backstory on him outside his self written puppet show which doesn't say anything about that, just people didn't like his science.

Because they were fucking Nazis and that's what they did? In history? The Nazis were fairly big on using unwilling patients for medical experimentation, chief. It doesn't need to be deliberately pointed out in the show because everyone with an ounce of historical awareness doesn't need to have their hand held on this point.

There are some really fucking obtuse people in this thread my god.

They were paying for superpowers, not to be experimented on. It is heavily implied Fuchs perfected his process on unwilling victims.

Not only that, he wouldn't have needed to flee after the war if he was only performing experiments on willing subjects. The US and Soviets would have loved a scientist who could manufacture supersoldiers unless he had participated in some major crimes against humanity.

Implied that he was willing to pay or bargain for Jane's blood sample for his experiments instead of just taking them?

Right? Like, between this guy and the one that's arguing that Larry's bi, I really do not understand how some people are watching this show.

>Not liking gay shit
What are you, a faggot?

It's not so much investment but more this being one of the most obvious case of "gay dude marries a woman as a cover but still prefers to fuck dudes" I've seen in a while. Hell, I'll concede he might be marginally bi since he managed to fuck his wife to produce children but it's obvious he prefers dudes over his wife.

>man is shown on-screen to care about both his female and male partners
>man is shown to only be romantic towards his male partner
>it is outright stated that he isn't being romantic with his female partner

for the whole larry being bi, gay, pan, or whatever, I dont think we have enough to say either or, and I think larry doesnt even know himself yet

Attached: fine.jpg (1200x1200, 399K)

Attached: 90EBD2EA-010D-4483-87B4-D25F3DAD1B83.jpg (199x253, 10K)

Larry is confirmed to be gay by Matt Bomer and the show's writers and staff, not bi, he was into dudes which is why he fucked guys and was partially why he was away from his family. Also why he felt like a monster that he couldn't love his wife like he wanted to. Sheryl was stability and a way for him to hide who he really was

Still I think he did care for Sheryl because if you pay attention to Larry's room when he comes back to the Mansion in episode 2 (his scene with Rita putting on one of his bandages on her hand) you can see in the background that he has multiple photos of his wife and kids (and I think a photo of John as well) so he did gave a shit about her more than her just being his beard.

However ultimately both Sheryl and John weren't as important to him as his career because he wouldn't leave her for John and his career and he wouldn't leave John for Sheryl for John and his own career. Hell he even had the option of having John stay with him but he pushed him away.

I like some of the relationships in this show.

Larry and Rita's friendship the fact that they're both in the same page of not getting involved in shit or when Rita is convinced to do something Larry just sighs and goes along with it. I liked the scene where they played jenga and the part where Larry apologizes to her for not being there when she blobbed all over Cloverton because he was too scare of the negative spirit popping out. I just wish they would interact with Cliff more in a significant way, oh well we still have the rest of the season.

I also like Cliff and Jane's relationship which is more of a father and daughter type of thing with Cliff making her the sandwiches and thinking about his daughter when he sees her. Cliff being worried when Jane sees that he slaughtered those people after freaking out himself was also great. I just wish Jane wasn't so hostile most of the time, it gets annoying.

Cyborg having some moments with Rita in today's episode was nice too

Attached: DianeGuerrero.jpg (1027x1027, 112K)

If we get giantess Rita I hope they do an attack of the 50 ft woman type of episode. Rita rampages through Clovertown or some other place and the Doom patrol have to stop her by trying to calm her down or something.

I heard they were casting for Steve Dayton and I wonder how that character is going to be handled especially with blob Rita.

Dude, please, Nazis has always been the most common enemy for superheroes, specially for stuff like doom patrol that are heavily linked to silver age, and not shit that the doom patrol has left values, have you read the comics?

Crazy Jane? More like Busty Jane, am I right?

Attached: excited.jpg (570x354, 46K)

You know the first appearance of Captain America has him punching Hitler, right?

I'll totally grant you that there are some idiots on the internet that use the term Nazi when they just mean "have vaguely right-wing political views that make me uncomfortable".

But what you do is the opposite and worse, assuming that everyone that's called a Nazi is just someone who spooked a leftie when sometimes they're ACTUAL FUCKING NAZIS.

I could actually see a Doom Patrol/ Twin Peaks crossover working really fucking well. Tonally and thematically, Morrison and Lynch are on a similar wavelength I think. I wonder if they ever met, I know they are both friends with Trent Reznor so it is not impossible.

Grant Morrison’s life is so fucking cool and he knows it too.

Always remember that once, a long time ago, Grant was a lonely nerdy dude writing weird shit in his journal and drawing dirty pictures to jack off to in his shithole Scottish village, constantly considering the benefits of suicide.

Gamble a stamp.

That was pretty good. I really like the Clint Mansell music on this and Titans (best part of that show).

these are very unstable times, and lots of people are going around preaching ideologies of dehumanizing others. doing so makes you look like a nazi. and we live in an era where anyone, no matter how ill-informed, no matter how young, no matter how naive or insincere, has a public speaking platform.
most of the people saying really stupid shit on twitter and tumblr are trolling, underaged, or both. and the end of the day you have to decide for yourself where you want the human race to be in 10,000 years and how you as a single butterfly in a typhoon of butterflies intend to flap your wings to raise the odds of us getting there.

Probably. Her powers are reacting to her insecurity. Cyborg laying it on her made her feel like shit but throwing it back at him brought her confidence up.

>Body all of metal
>Metal conducts electricity
>Said electricity reaches Cliff's brain, the only organic part.

It must hurt as hell

It's cause he never asked for any of this. If Cliff had his way, before his accident, he never would've been even remotely heroic. Probably would've just died in another accident that the Chief didn't set up. But now, because this horrible, irreversible thing happened to him, he has the potential and the ability to be a hero, and with those things in place, he's also discovering that he wants to be those things.

And as he discovers that he wants to be a hero, he's also discovering that he's a good person. After you strip away all the pleasures of the flesh, he's just a guy that wants to leave a positive mark on the world after he's gone.

Oh shit. You said Larry and not Cliff. Pardon me, I just woke up, smoked a bowl and have not had my coffee yet.

You wouldn't know it from the DCEU, but Henry Cavill is not only a damn fine actor but he would have been the perfect Superman had he been given better material to work with.

He’s even got a fucking perfect Superman smile, not that you would know it when they had him in the suit. He really would’ve been an amazing Superman if he had better material and better direction.
