>the part where George and Harold come up with their own stupid names, a nod to the naming charts in the books
Holy fucking shit. The only thing this was missing was George and Harold asking the audience to shout something out, and then apologizing if you got in trouble.

I'm not alone when I say Ed Helms was fucking perfect as him am I?
No, he was great. That movie had everything I would've wanted in a Captain Underpants movie.
Literally the only thing I was disappointed with was that it didn’t start with the whole “this is George Beard and Harold Hutchins. George is the one with the...” speech.
I hope Krupp and the lunch lady get together!
I was amazed by the flip-o-rama scene, using foot prints to mark the page was a stroke of genius.
The Netflix series is even better since they emulate the art style from the original books and have George and Harold voiced by real kids.
yeah honestly I was EXTREMELY surprised that of all the things the movie didn't do, it was that. They even had a perfect spot for it!
>actually confirming that Captain Underpants is just the part of Krupp that he represses
explain this to me cause i didn't get that
The only problem I had with it is that the made Krupp an empathetic character and gave him a happy ending.
I loved this movie. I was taken aback by the fliporama. I was not expecting that. 9/10 adaptation. Only issue is Kevin Hart and that other adult playing George and Harold. They're not bad in the movie, but it's weird hearing adult voices come from children
Really? It’s the opposite for me. I’m glad Krupp got some depth and sympathy, because Pilky never gave him any in the books.
The series is good too
Krupp is amazing in that show.
which is funny because the cartoon makes sure to do that at the start of every episode.
About how long is the show? Was just about to rewatch the movie.
I think it was cut because George and Harold were essentially the narrators of the film. I was still pretty satisfied with the introduction.
Not him but there's currently 2 seasons out now, each with 13 half-hour episodes
I think Nick Krull did a good job as well. Fun villain voicing from him. Very cartoons. Sounds like he was having fun.
I absolutely adored the movie. Is the show worth watching?
It's pretty fun as long as you don't mind it's super formulaic.
Oh and while it is a flip-o-rama in the first episode, it's something completely different every episode afterward

Mabel lunch lady is such an underrated waifu
Is the Netflix show any good?
That's genuinely the funniest shit I've seen in a long time
>studio creates beautiful 2D pencil tests for their movies
>makes it CGI anyways
I appreciate the effort the movie took to make the CG stylized but I still wish it was hand drawn.
Other CG movies like Frozen and Moana have done this too. CG is just what sells right now I guess.
Towards the end of the film the kids directly ask eachother “How come Captain Underpants is so fun and Krupp is so mean?” and they conclude “I guess it’s because Captain Underpants has friends and Krupp doesn’t.” They then decide that if they’re nice to Krupp and help set him up with Edith, it’ll improve his attitude. In asking this question and in the actions they take, they both recognize that CU and Krupp are essentially the same person at the end of the day, and they also recognize that “the Captain Underpants inside of Krupp” can be brought out a little under the right conditions.
Saw this recently. It's one of those movies where you can just tell how much fun everyone involved had, and their joy is incredibly infectious. I wouldn't really say it's a "good movie", the plot and pacing is all over the place and the jokes don't always land, but like George and Harold's comics it's just fucking off-the-wall crazy fun so I couldn't help but like it, even if I didn't read the books.
I feel like you're just coming to conclusions yourself but ok
