Korra is cute but I just couldn't get into her show, it was just missing something.
Evan Moore
really should have worn something revealing during the show, like seriously.
Jaxson Nguyen
It was a very mixed show.
Samuel Phillips
They really should have expanded the first season from the beginning to run over to course of multiple seasons. Made Amon the more overarching villainousoy factor.
Adam Morris
Or Tarlok
Josiah Bennett
I love how every idea on how to make the show "better" in these threads is essentially just making something exactly like The Last Airbender.
Nathaniel Carter
Yeah all those first season events and characters were so interesting. They should have made the possibility of Asami’s involvement with the Chi-Blockers more of a conflict. Maybe even have actually be involved then switch sides? Reallysoy a show about someone living in Republic city day to day I would enjoy.

Jaxson Barnes
>your two ex-girlfriends went lesbian after breaking up with you
>lesbian with *each* other
What does that do to a guy?
Kevin Scott
While I like your idea and I loved Amon - before the reveal at least - that would mean we would miss the best antagonist from the Korra era.
Brandon Perez
Maybe he thinks he’s attracted to butch girl?
Samuel Ross
>What does that do to a guy?
He's stupified when he hears about it in the comics.
Logan Fisher
Not necessarily just in a different larger form
Jason Morris
season 2 ruined this show.
the "dark avatar" is the kind of stupid and condescending idea that you can find in any "deep" lowbrown anime and Bryke and DiMartino were completely above that. how did they falter this bad?.
Anthony Robinson
Yes
Brody Kelly
AAAAH I WANT TO FUCK KORRA SO BAD IT FUCKING HURTS
Elijah Roberts
Who is the villain of season 4 and why is it Suyin?
Why are Toph and Aang such shitty parents?
Josiah Gray
That's why i use her as a main inspiration to create a main character in a novel.
I will never retract.
Brody Butler
>Why are Toph and Aang such shitty parents?
They were good at other stuff, not parenting.
Nathaniel Mitchell
Season 2 was a production mess that experienced a ton of delays and issues. S4 had begun production before S2 was finished. It's likely that they got fed up with it and just bullshitted whatever, choosing the biggest nonsense ending imaginable.
I mean, I hated that ending, but I will definitely never forget it.
Anthony Reed
Toph had parental issues of her own in that they coddled and smothered her. Aang, on the other hand, has no idea how to raise children considering his monastic upbringing, and likely bordered on absenteeism with the duties that come with being the Avatar.
Tyler Bennett
because they should have gotten together

Man, Bolin just can't catch a break.
The guy should just get the fuck out of there and ignore Republic City or Korra or everyone.

Not much. Probably stupified for a while, but then he jacks off and goes back to normal. Unless he has mentail issues.
Ian Collins
To be fair, he was the one who broke up with them (twice in the case of Asami)
Julian Howard
Asami is the one that should be prepared. Korra is abusive.
Chase Gomez
Especially since she turns into a sad background character whenever there is relationship drama.
Jordan Russell
I have never seen Avatar or Korra and probably never will.
But HOT DAMN has the ending of Korra produced a lot of good lesbian fanart for me to peruse. Plz post some.

>"I just want to go see my dad in the graveyard, Korra! I swear I wasn't trying to do anything else!"
>"Oh so you were visiting the tomb of that criminal while I NEEDED you! I had a firebender about to toast my ass and you were visiting a bunch of dust?!"
>"Korra, please. I don't want to do this right now. Can we please just go to bed and get this day over with?"
>"Oh you would love that, wouldn't you? To simply ignore all the stupid bullshit you pull on me and just walk into the shadows like a background character in a soap opera. Well, fuck you, Asami! WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE SHIT I WANNA TALK ABOUT, RIGHT FUCKING NOW!"
>"Korra, please. Don't raise your hand, i'm sorry for not being there. I thought that Mako and Bolin would be enou-"
>"DON'T TALK ABOUT THOSE LOSERS IN HERE! AND DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO, ASAMI!"
>slapping sounds are heard all over the appartment. Asami is hear sobbing.
>"Oh and now you are crying! Of course! For fuck sake, Asami. Grow a spiritdamn spine."
>"Korra... please."
>"If you actually try to do something more than take care of your idiotic lipstick, you wouldn't be in this situation. Would you?! If you were a good girlfriend and you had my back, like good girlfriends do, you wouldn't be in this situation! WOULD YOU?!"
>"I..."
>"Would you?! Come on, answer me. Would you?!"
>"N-No. I'm sorry for being a bad girlfriend."
>"Good. Now go to the bathroom and clean your face. That blood isn't very nice."
The next day Korra would tell her that she loves her and that she is sorry and takes her to have a nice day and treats really well. Asami smiles with black eye and heavy bags under her eyes.
Brayden Wilson

>"Man, you don't look so well, Asami."

>"Sure thing!"
>"Korra isn't home right now, but as soon as she comes back, I tell you got her a fruit basket too."
>Bolin stops smilling and looks at her.
>"Asami, I might be an idiot, but i'm not a complete idiot. You have to talk to someone about this. No amount of make up is gonna cover your wounds. Please, I know a good acupuncturist back home, he did wonder with Chief Beifong. Please, give him a chance. Maybe he can help you both become a better couple."
>"P-Please, just go, Bo. I don't want her to hear this from you."
>"Asami, we care about you. Opal, Mako, me... we all do. Please consider it."
>As soon as Bolin leaves. Korra gets home.
>"Hey Asami. Soooo... Bolin was here, huh?"
>"Yeah, he came to deliver some-"
>Korra grabs her hair and pulls her to the front door.
>"Why the fuck was he here without me knowing?! ARE YOU CHEATING ON ME, YOU FUCKING BITCH?!"
>"NO. BY ALL THE SPIRITS! NO KORRA, I'M NOT!"
>"LIAR!"
>Korra starts crying and hitting Asami on the back of the head with her free hand.
>"I don't want to see those losers in here!"
>"Why are you calling them that?! They helped you when you needed them!"
>"Shut the fuck up, Asami!"
>Korra lets her go and walked away into the living room. She cries a bit and comes back to Asami, she helps her get up.
>"I'm sorry! I know you are right! I don't know what's wrong with me?!"
>"I-It's ok, Korra. I-I love you."
They hug. The day after this, Korra broke Asami's nose.
James Edwards
The show should have ended either with Korra and Tenzin's conversation or with the whole krew going into the spirit world journey to make a nice contrast to how Korra started the season pushing her friends away because of the shame of losing her strength.
Asami is a worthless character and she didn't deserve to be such a large part of the series' ending just to do a shitty romance.
Henry Bell
Is this what Tenzin dating Lin was like?
Liam Wood
>"Officer Mako? Are you sure this is... you know? Legit?"
>"Yes. Trust me. I know. Korra isn't a very patient woman nor a very wise one either. Whatever Kuvira thought her, went down the toilet a few months later."
>"Are you saying that because they are both your exes?"
>"Fuck off, man."
>They arrive at the Sato residence and they already can hear screams.
>"No Asami! I-I'm not cheating on you! Fuck! Why can't you just trust me, you bitch!"
>Mako sighted. This was going to get bad.
>"Open up, avatar! We had a complain about noice and spousal abuse!"
>Sudden silence. A few rustling noises. And finally the door opens. Korra stands on the other side with her arms crossed and blinking nervously.
>"What is it, Mako?"
>"Listen. I know for a fact that you are being your usual abusive bitch. And that Asami is probably somewhere in there, washing whatever blood is coming out of her wounds. So let me just make this clear: Stop it."
>"Or else what?! I'm the avatar, you can't beat me. You have to deal with it!"
>"I don't have to beat you up to defeat you, Korra. You know this better than anyone."
>Mako peeks a bit inside and sees Asami behind the couch. She bleeding badly.
>"Holy Shit, Asami. Just accuse her already! We can keep you safe. Even from the avatar! Come on, don't let her do this to you!"
>Asami doesn't respond.
>"Get the hell out of here, loser."
>"I might be a loser. But i'm not a bully, Korra. Think about it, Asami."
Mako walks away. He can't save someone that refuses help.
Kayden Gutierrez
This. Asami existed for way too long as a main character. And the endings is horseshit.
Robert Perry
Is there an in universe reason for why the Fire Nation never attacked the Earth Kingdom from the east?
Daniel Clark
>What is the Eastern Air Temple
Thinking back on it, we never really got to see much of the Eastern Earth Kingdom. Most of the adventure took place in the west.
Tyler Miller
Maybe they did and that's where Iroh's siege started from since everything between Ba Sing Se and the most western territories seems to be Earth Kingdom territory.
Cooper Turner
I think Suyin's metal city is on the east
Angel Morgan
Asami should have started as a femme fatale villain and grown from there, then she would have had more character.
Bentley Myers
It was an alright show, then a bad show, then a pretty good show, then a good show.

I don't get this meme that book 3 LoK was good.
Zaheer never should have been able to break his earthly tether, he literally did the exact shit that Yangchen said would prevent Aang from breaking his.

Ok. That was weird. But did he really had to call P. J. Byrne a fat piece of shit?

Yangchen was referring to the fact that Air Nomad philosophy does not agree with the responsibilities of the Avatar, not that killing prevents enlightenment.
Yangchen's advice contradicted the Guru's, which was shown to be effective.
Yangchen wound up being wrong in the end.

Watch the show and actually listen to what their conversation is about.
Air Nomad philosophy was pretty strict about all life being sacred. Being the Avatar means you have a duty to maintaining the balance of the earth, which sometimes involves killing an oppressive tyrannical ruler before he firestorms a continent.
Being the Avatar = responsibility to the earth = contradictions to Air Nomad philosophy like having to murk a bitch, among many other things = not being able to free your spirit/break your tether to the thing you have to protect.
The Guru spoke about opening the chakras and allowing cosmic energy to enter in order to hold mastery over the Avatar state. All Avatars who mastered the state did this, but free flight was only performed by one non-Avatar Air Nomad guru who presumably would be following the core tenants of the philosophy - I have no idea if he actually did.
Either:
>A: Air Nomad Philosophy is teaching everyone wrong as an elaborate practical joke
>B: Avatars can detach their tethers and obtain free flight by being totally impassionate loveless killers
>C: Korra writers don't give a shit about lore and just wanted a cool airbender villain
Considering case precedent and that later in the series Tenzin creates a world-police military force, I'm gonna have to go with option C. Killing the guardian of the planet to further a personal political agenda just seems about as earth-bound as you can get, dead GF or not.

so is there a flow chart that shows the progression of a cartoon on Yea Forums?
cause I have a feeling there's a definite stage where after a cartoon ends most people move on from it, yet it still gets regular threads on Yea Forums populated almost entirely by obsessive waifufags who repost the exact same images over and over again for years, and I'm wondering exactly how many years until the threads die, so I know whether I have to modify my filter list or not

>All Avatars who mastered the state did this
Your headcanon, not confirmed. In the old flash game escape to the spirit world, Roku is seen meditating with a fire sage whose name I forgot. He's being taught to obtain power over the AS in a method that does not seem to be related to the chakra. It's likely that each culture has their own method of helping the Avatar control that state.
>who presumably would be following the core tenants of the philosophy - I have no idea if he actually did.
Laghima agreed that death and destruction was necessary for rebirth given one of his writings, he seemed to be a radical among Air Nomads even if he was considered wise.
>contradictions to Air Nomad philosophy like having to murk a bitch, among many other things = not being able to free your spirit/break your tether to the thing you have to protect.
Relisten to the dialogue, Aang begins talking about killing but mentions other tenets of AN philosophy, like vegetarianism and detachment. Yangchen tells him total detachment is impossible since the Avatar must serve the world. This isn't that killing prevents detachment, it's Aang asking Yangchen whether he should continue following the philosophy he was raised with or he must abandon it when it conflicts with his responsibilities as Avatar.
>later in the series Tenzin creates a world-police military force
The entire episode of Original Airbenders in S3 builds up to this, where Tenzin comes to realize the Earth Kingdom born airbenders are not like the original nomads and never will be, so he chooses to leave some facets of the old culture behind and adopt new ones while still keeping to most core beliefs. They're not even a world police force, they're an aid and relief group.

>Air Nomad philosophy was pretty strict about all life being sacred. Being the Avatar means you have a duty to maintaining the balance of the earth, which sometimes involves killing an oppressive tyrannical ruler before he firestorms a continent.
The core elements of airbending philosophy are freedom and detachment from earthly matters. Life being sacred and vegetarianism are more of traditional elements of air nation culture just like segregating by genders or shaving heads. The whole Guru Laghima vs Traditional Air Nomad stuff was about different ways to achieve that freedom, Laghima/Zaheer did it by pushing to create a world where everyone could be free by any means necessary while the rest of the air nomads did it by respecting and embracing the freedom of all other life forms.
>Killing the guardian of the planet to further a personal political agenda just seems about as earth-bound as you can get, dead GF or not.
It depends if ideologies can be considered earthly attachments or not, we'd have to get philosophical over what is true freedom? Was Zaheer truly free or a slave to his own ideals?. But ultimately this is an action series so Zaheer does get to fully enter the void and achieve flight for the sake of a cool action climax so ideologies do not count as earthly attachments but personal relationships do.
Leo Harris
>i-i-it's an ancient airbending technique!!!
Chase Murphy
Asami should have been the overarching villain in the end.
Playing all sides against each other, funding the war, and secretly building up the equalists behind everyone's backs.
Could have been a great way to end the series with a legitimately shocking revelation.
Whatever though...
Jack Rivera
Rumor has it Asami was meant to be a throwaway villain, but she was so popular they kept her. From what I can tell, they didn't really know what to do with her.
Daniel Anderson
I remember hearing that someone ask the staff who would korra would ending up with beside Asami. The staff said (she would have still ending up with Asami).Did they really said that?
Jace Watson
Since death battle never made a episode of this, who would win between Asami vs Sokka?
Kevin Thomas
>but she was so popular they kept her.
More like Bryan started waifuing her pretty badly because she was the only character he personally designed.

Under ATLA rules, Asami wins because she has got a vagina
Under LoK rules, Asami still wins because she has got superior technology.

Amon was the best. Him not being an Energybender especially since ATLA ended with Aang using Energybending was bad writing.

I wouldn't say it was bad writing, but more of a massive waste of potential.
