Too many hail-marys way too close together. Every five years we're discussing legacy numbers and/or having little "not muh" melt-downs over a new batch of reboots. The companies are still operating on the twentieth century idea of what the average media consumer is. The core comic buying demo today grew up on anime and Harry Potter. If Marvel/DC were ~20/30 years in to a consistent universe they'd actually have a back catalogue that could compete with manga and YA series.

How many issues do we have left of Adventures of the Super Sons before kid Jon is taken away from us forever?
