mickey gets these reddit tier animations on youtube now
Disney was very protective of Mickey as they saw him as the face of the company.
Also he had fantasia.
fantasia is a collection of shorts, not a movie about mickey
Mickey is just the thread that holds specials and crossover stuff like house of mouse or even kingdom hearts.
Mickey is the face of the company
He's all over but not the star of any one thing because in a way he's the star of every thing
Does pic related count?
no, it's not a series centered around Mickey
it does though
no it doesn"t
this series is an excuse to put canon disney movie characters into a series of gags
goof troop is a series centered around goofy and his friends, mickey doesn't have anything comparable to that
Mickey is boring.
But he did get those cartoon shorts.
fpbp
Mickey gets... HIS CLUBHOUSE
why does he need that? What's the point of doing all that build-up when you already did it with Goofy and then Donald as well. It would be a retread of already paved ground.
Mickey sucks. Who wants to watch a high pitched, straight laced mouse?
they should do a Mickey show based on euro comics.
I hate how they ruined their character designs by making them Ren and Stimpy clones
Yeah, Goofy got a pretty sweet deal compared to everyone else.
>nobody mentions Runaway Brain
what about that kiddy clubhouse cartoon they had? he also had a movie iirc
It's a short, not a series
It's still something.
Then Quack Pack doesn't count as a Donald series either, the real protagonists were the nephews. Legend of the Three Caballeros, now that's a Donald series.
What does Reddit even mean by this point?
>hating on new Mickey Mouse shorts
Someone hates fun.
Mickey as a character is more or less a boring everyday man, there is a reason he fell out of favor in the later cartoon making for donald and goofy.
>reddit tier
this board has nothing anymore, its the heat death of the Yea Forums.
Mickey gets to be the face of the company, Mickey Mouse Works, House of Mouse and the new Mickey Mouse Shorts that has two 22 minute holiday specials.
>Mickey as a character is more or less a boring everyday man
no he's not, he's a consulting detective for commissioner o'hara
>Everything I don't like is ______
Why have fictional characters at all? We already have the Bible.
I'd just like to remind everyone these shorts also air on TV, not like anyone watches TV these days anyways.
The house of mouse counts, it's fucking canon.
When they were first pitching ideas for Disney Afternoon shows, two of the first ones were Mickey in Space and Sports Goofy. Disney loved the pitches, but were a bit uneasy about diluting their major characters in case the shows sucked (Donald they didn't have a problem with, so long as he wasn't headlining a show). By the early 90s, the Disney Afternoon shows had proven so successful that shows like Goof Troop and Quack Pack were able to come into existence. Supposedly, they also had permission to do a Mickey show, but never really got around to it.
sports goofy in soccer-mania is pretty much proto-Ducktales.

Simpsons
The same thing it always meant: Being a bitch ass nigga.
Fuck you, those shorts are great.
Sneed
>Donald gets a tv series
Cucktales (new and old) and Crap Pack both shit on everything that Donald stands for AND his extended cast.
>tfw no Mickey cartoon based on the comics where Mickey is a detective and solves strange crimes
Ahem.
Mickey's Clubhouse and Mickey and the Roadster Racers. Both are cartoons that star Mickey Mouse.
The latter show is even aimed at children old enough to read, in the 5-10 demographic, and has plenty of fanservice.
Mickey gets his due. It's just that virgins in their 30s have a hard time accepting that not every children's cartoon is made for them.
Mickey has a multi-emmy winning tv series, the fuck are you on about?
>has plenty of fanservice.
a fellow mouse connoisseur i see
>Mickey doesn't get anything
Mickey gets to control the entertainment industry.
For what it's worth, there is always pic related, where Mickey serves as the Yoda of the franchise and is unironically one of its biggest badasses.
As someone who has never played Kingdom Hearts, it honestly looks like some anime/Disney crossover from Deviantart
What kind of fanservice?
that's literally exactly what it is. it's great
I can't put my finger on it, but something about this short feels simultaneously dated yet timeless.
Minnie Mouse panty shots.
I don't see any issue with it
Damn I wanna fug that birb.
More shit for my cartoon backlog it seems.
See? He’s naturally boring so they had to give him the same job as Sherlock Holmes and Batman to make his stories interesting.
That ain't all
"I don't like this thing but I don't really have an articulate reason for it".
you're not making any sense
Then wouldn't that not count either given it focuses on them as a trio and not solely Donald?
How far can we go
Disney killed Mickey because Eisnrr embargoed anyone doing ANYTHING with him so that his rare appearances ewould be "special and important". It backfired so badly that it made Mickey a literal who for several generations, hence the new shorts which are Disney trying to undo the damage done to Mickeys brand
This is my dream series
>Darker Mickey Mouse detective series
>Similar to the comics
>Solves crimes from a rotating cast of criminals
>Includes badass Chad Phantom Blot and they don't hold back on showing his death devices and plots
Not only do I think it can fully give Mickey the personality and edge he's missing, I think it can be the best Disney show ever made
You get plenty of Mickey ass in the new shorts, though.
>hating the new shorts
Do you just hate fun?
And—oh, wow! ROOOADSTER RACERS!
It means "I got banned from a subreddit and I'm not going to stop blaming Reddit for it"
Mickey has tons of other cool villains, if they use them right the cartoon will be incredible
I don’t think they would be able to get away with his death traps today.
>that carnival short
Mickey is a boring character.
could you not verbally harass mickey please hes had a bad day
I find Mickey attractive at certain times and I don't know if I should be ashamed by this
house of mouse was a treasure
Every Disney movie is Mickey's is what they meant by that
Nothing to be ashamed of user. He cute.
>Mickey will eventually shoot himself in one trap
>Mickey will eventually hang himself in the other
Who the fuck made this? It's metal as hell
Here I was thinking the Phantom Blot was one of the most incompetent, softcore Disney villains
>reddit tier
What does this even mean. Reddit isn't infamous for producing animations. Redditors are beta no-life hacks who couldn't even draw a stick figure let alone animate something as quality as nu-Mickey Mouse.
here we go. somebody post the mickey cuck screencap
>this meme again
Rosa likes DuckTales, he just doesn't want nostalgic Gen Y morons asking him to draw Launchpad.
The Mickey in Space pitch turned into an unproduced Horace Horsecollar in Space pitch.
That's the original Floyd Gottfredson Blot story.
Honestly I was going to use this, this is a example of something that would need to happen to make it successful. This would very likely be the most dark of it, but it needs to be like the comics that transition between action, light-hearted comedy and dark things like this that have weight.
They've done similar in other media before, MM Works had a Phantom Blot episode where he tried to kill them and Runaway Brain is a great tone for it. It would work and once again revive his image
And if they worry about "Mickey's image" just swap him out for Oswald. Those fans would appreciate him in anything
Micky jobs to a literal demon tide in KHIII, gets bitched at by Aqua in her fit of PMS rage, and Nort casted Stopza. I swear, Nomura shouldn't be allowed to write Disney characters.
Effeminate, passive aggressive, tryhard
Voice close to Disney TV Animation: there have been many, many attempts to do this over the years, based on both Euro comics and older Gotfredson and Murray stuff.
Creatives agree it would RULE.
Unfortunately, marketing people and Diznee censors are terrified that the adventures, involving pirates and spies and supervillains and other dangerous bad guys taken seriously, would scare mommies and daddies who expect all Mickey products to be preschool appropriate.
I'm not on the inside but this also appears to be why the IDW Mickey and Donald comic books were dumbed down last fall.
The Phantom Blot is legit base and metal. He doesn't just make a goofy villain plot like others, he does hardcore shit that often involves torturing his victims in a drawn-out fashion by preventing them for sleeping or moving if they want to live.
What often brings his downfall is how ironically he can do these heartless plots, but is too pussy to actually watch it. This leads to Mickey being able to escape not being under his eye
Would you want to watch a Mikey series? He's not that funny or entertaining.
Goofy is dumb and gets into accidents a lot, Donald is insane and rages on people, Chip and Dale are lovable assholes, Scrooge goes on adventures. Mickey...makes friends and is nice to everyone while saying "Oh Boy!" a lot.
Those Mickey Mouse cartoons on YouTube look like utter shit. Maybe I'm just nostalgic for the good stuff from the 40s.
Make him go around being nice to people, trying to help them and getting into wacky situations, easy.
You were saying?
In the 1940s he was already a stooge to other characters.
You want stuff like THIS.
Imagine being so devoid of creativity you can't come up with ideas for a stock hero character.
Mickey is a giant corporate icon. He's not allowed to have character flaws like Goofy. He doesn't even seem to be allowed to get angry like Donald.
You definitely haven't seen any Mickey cartoon I assume
MICKEY IS FUCKING BORING
Epic Mickey?
Nobody actually likes Mickey though. His status as Disney's main character is his only defining characteristic. All the other Disney characters were originally created to for him to play off of as the straightman. Because of this, he's doomed to be the boring protagonist that can't carry a story on his own.
In the 30's he was kind of a violent vengeance-drive asshole, that was kind of a little rapey at times.
The funny thing is that when they first published it in comic book format they toned down the methods of violence used but ironically made one of them have a casualty. The last death trap in the rewrite had Mickey tied to a stool on a turtle's back and some lush greens the turtle wanted at the edge of a steep drop off of a cliff. In the end, Mickey gets himself free and lets the turtle have its food safely away from the edge, but then the door to leave the trap is wired with a bomb (this happens in the original, too) and the whole place explodes. Mickey is the only one in the blast in the first version, but the rewrite doesn't account for the safety of that turtle.
example?
Mickey is barely present in the series lol
MICKEY IS TIRED OF YOUR SHIT
Micky isn't cool anymore, maybe in the 30's and 40's he was but not anymore
Damn, that second panel has some legit punches. Modern artists need to go to boxing matches just to see how fighting actually works
Based first post. Look at the triggered NPC responses
I like the shorts but i have to agree with this. The others can be tolerable, but New Goofy looks unabashedly awful.
But Mickey had a movie. With two Mickeys in it!
>new thing bad
>old thing good
>Replying to everyone makes my troll cool
Back to reeddit.com
Mickey gets the most kino animated short of the last 50 years.
Everyone and everything. You and I included.
At least, by Yea Forums logic.
The fact that you children care so much about making other people upset is so damn pathetic.
He's based on his 1930's look, you uncultured swine.
Appearances of minor characters from old disney cartoons that haven't appeared in decades. They had the Three Caballeros first too.
use of modern day cliches with pure obliviousness of how annoying/overdone it has become.
They have to get attention too I suppose
The focus is presumably on them as a trio, but in practice Donald gets a lot of individual focus on top of that (he is the only one with his own personal arc) and drives the story forward (I.e. in the episode where he's away folks find themselves initially bored without him, then push forward only after questioning what Donald would have done).
It is Donald And Friends less than The Three Caballeros, really. José doesn't even get his own proper episode and calling the lucha one Panchito's is stretching it a bit. Hopefully we get a second season to balance things up.
*more than TTC I meant!
It's another buzzword retard newfags (presumably coming from reddit) will use. Like autist or cuck or something like that.
You know what else you should get?
no?
Donald also got a movie. The Three Caballeros.
The dirty secret of Disney is that Mickey is boring and everybody knows it.
STOP POSTING BULLSHIT YOU FUCKING PLEBS
Whoever drew these has some fucked up fetishes. I believe this is called predicament bondage?
>Hairy Mickey
This is so much worse than detective pikachu
Mickey is the world of Disney.
He is Walt's stand.
Literally Mouse Warudo.
Mickey Mouse is just Walt Disney's fursona
>movie
>it's 20 Minutes long
Nah, if the sub's life is in danger it's called Peril. Predictament Bondage is when they have to do a task while bound and if they fail it they suffer pain, humiliation or an added complication to their bounds.
There was a bejeweled-type game involving this kind of scenario. It remains the most involved fap I've ever had and no pussy visual novel will ever top it.
>
>What does Reddit even mean by this point?
Cynical humor with flash animation or ren and stimpy artstyle.
>HU, everything is shit and gross, be a sad sack of shit like us !
Mickey gets MMMM, one of the best Disney comics of all time
Mickey Mouse mistery magazine is what you're looking to, it just doesn't have black bloat as a villain
>company started with shorts about him
>face of the brand
>mickey mouse club house
>house of mouse
>other shows im too lazy to include
>kingdom hearts king
>still has shorts to this day made about him
??
>He doesn't even remember the house of mouse block. Let alone the classic Mickey toons.
"I don't like it."
shorts =/= series
It's a series of shorts you doofus
Just the ones that are copied from the same programming
see
Holy fuck, the rewrite version was reprinted in the 1990s and was the first version I saw. I was so thrilled to read the original (reprinted both earlier, and more recently) that I never noticed the "softer" version was accidentally harsher!
Turtle soup... yum yum!
New Mickey is kind of cool.
Mickey in modern Italian comics is kind of cool.
He can't be as cool as Scrooge McDuck but is still a pretty badass fighter and detective/secret agent.
fuck, really? So a cute girl or hot guy is tied and about to get blown up unless you solve one level after another, while they're actively sweating and squirming and moaning suggestively?
I never even thought this concept could turn me on until now.
I think you mean Phantom Blot—"black bloat" suggests an evil, dark version of Garfield
The lady duck in the image you posted should get her own show.
For the love of Walt, tell me this has got a scanlation
no
it's really recent
...
>not understandung French in 2k19
are you for real
This video was the best thing I watched today, thanks for sharing
Probably not the reason, but did you know that the original design for Roger Rabbit that was gonna be voiced by Pee Wee Herman is in the audience for the game?
Hah. I thought he looked a bit Roger-ey
>cynical humor
Are you retarded? Do you have a turd in your skull instead of a brain? Stop leaking shit all over Yea Forums.
Lastest Mickey short humor = Family guy humor
>the mickey cuck screencap
The what
This actually is the dumbest comparison on the board.
Where's the cutaway gags that are vital to FG's humor
you don't know what you are sating redditor
This one?
The new Mickey Shorts are mostly super wholesome tho
They ruined Goofy
Has the rest of it ever been translated? I remember that only the first 3 issues have been.
the only reddit tier thing here is you.
instead of any sort of criticism, you just gave it a no effort ad hominem, now THAT'S reddit.
sometimes, he bites off more than he can chew
One word: Darkenblot.
Oh fuck off with that shit, more often than not Goofy is fine in the new shorts, you people sure love to focus on the bad rather than the good, Goofy isn't even the main character
i don't see how this proves your argument
That Goofy is trash, this is how Goofy is supposed to act
>not muh Goofy
Good thing this show is mainly about Mickey Mouse then
Wasn't because not until recently, Disney had this gag-order on how Mickey should behave? I remember reading something like that, when those new, well new-ish, shorts started to come out, and how fun Mickey was allowed to be.
Oh fuck I remember that. Wasn't there another version with a NSFW Mickey sketch?
These posters are the same person
Damn I really forgot how brilliant that alternate universe episode in Family Guy was
Honest answer, Mickey is probably purposly getting phased out since he will be public domain come 2024.

I love it when people online talk about shit they don't understand as if they were experts
>that fucking dot crawl on the edge
I've always wondered why House of Mouse wasn't that popular. It featured a huge cast of characters that had been appealing to a wide range of kids and probably even adults for years, it actually provided some lore about Toon Town and it was so funny. Even the wrap-around parts that were just intended to introduce the shorts were hilarious and well-written, even self-aware at times at how ridiculous it sometimes was. And, before the modern Mickey shorts, HoM actually gave Mickey a personality. He tended to act in a way that was unlike the constantly-cheery flawless-hero he'd previously always been presented as. Sometimes he'd straight up get pissed off at people or frustrated with himself or have genuine panic attacks or say things sarcastic/deadpan. The only other time he consistently acted like this was in that one Bonkers episode where Mickey got kidnapped by a fat wannabe and Bonker's stupid antics and obsession with him throughout the episode would either irritate him or make him sound like he'd lost the will to live. That voice, too. Jesus. As much as I love the new shorts, the new guy is no Allwine.
House of Mouse was seriously one of the best characterizations of Mickey Mouse.
>dot crawl
Wut
Chris is probably the best Mickey after Wayne and it's a shame he's stuck on the shorts because Bret Iwan fucking sucks as Mickey.
Had a CAMEO in Fantasia
ftfy
Didn't he have the whole The Sorcerer's Apprentice segment?
Literal the "cameo" is a full segment the film is most notable for
as far as I can tell, it just means that it's popular on the internet and goes with the sort of things that are also popular on the internet. left-leaning, intellectually dishonest or pseudointellectual, really anything postmodern or ironic at this point, self-victimization is a big one. Basically anything that the internet as a whole (or, reddit) sees as the big kahuna opinion to have. like people that love rick and morty. this also sort of relates to the whole "npc" insult that people throw around because people on an online forum designed to be an echo chamber will tend to have opinions that agree with each other without ever having to defend them or question them. you look on the default, neutral subreddits, and the amount of censorship is often so large on them that they affect the rest of the platform and create a weird audience and tone.
actually part of the reason why Yea Forums is so refreshing is because it's rarely an echo chamber. people give different opinions here because here they just let the trolls do whatever instead of banning everyone we don't like because some people are little bitches, or because even though they made a good point they said the n-word without a pass.
tl:dr fuck sLUG NIGGErs 8==============D~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Absolutely one of my favorite comics, I meant as a show but wouldn't an adaption of that be killer
Given he mentioned an Euro comic he probably translated it from what he's called in his country
