The problem with Vanellope in the sequel is that she breaks the entire canon of the first movie and gets everything handed to her like she’s a victim. She went Turbo which would kill her home game only for everything to go her way in the end with it getting an update. Ralph suffers consequences for his actions in both movies. Vanellope does not and comes off as the entitled brat she screams to everyone she’s not.

Ralph hated his position as a villain and wanted more to his life which made him leave his game. He later learned to love what he does anyway, and keep on doing it and fine other ways to be happy instead.
In the sequel Vanelope hated her position and wanted more to her life which made her leave her game. She later learns to love leaving her game behind and ignoring everyone she left in it.
