When does shipping ruin a show? At what point does it become unorthodox?
When does shipping ruin a show? At what point does it become unorthodox?
With this
If and only if fan shipping affects how the writers write the goddamn show
From the moment it's introduced. Shipping is cancerous.
When show staff begin to get involved.
If you are retarded enough to care about fandom stuff, or even more autistic to the point of calling it a "community", it can sorta of annoying, I guess
For everyone else, it does not change a thing.
Same can be said about headcannon, sequels and retcons.
Bingo, once the higher-ups start commenting on the ships (or worse, specifically favoring a ship), that's when you've given the shippers the fuel to their fire and to their hearts' desire.
Why so many shipping threads recently?
Yea Forums is more ship-obsessed than Tumblr.
>When does shipping ruin a show?
When the creators inbrace it with positivity, incourage it, and/or practice it themselves.
>At what point does it become unorthodox?
When people in the fandom start to take it seriously and let it ruin said fandom for the show.
It doesn't. If you care about the culture surrounding a work more than the work itself then you're a fucking idiot
That sums up Yea Forums perfectly.
>When does shipping ruin a show?
When the ship is made to pander to fans
When the ship is forced
When the ship doesn't add to character development
When the ship is gay
When the ship is within in some love triangle cuckery context
When the ship becomes the main focus of the show
When the ship is just a big tease for shippers
When there are multiple ships in a show
Almost always.
>recently
Because this is Yea Forumsmblr.
When I don't enjoy it or if it is a ship I don't approve of. I am the ultimate decider of how much of the show has been ruined that it has stopped my enjoyment of it.
The moment creators start acknowledging it and pandering to it so pretty much this and this A lot of shows get overrun by shipping shit because the staff acknowledges them and they start indulging fans, in some cases it starts affecting the quality of the show as well. I can't recall the last show/movie that I saw were its fandom discussions weren't overrun by shipping shit. I'm guessing it was Breaking Bad and I guess it's because the show didn't have enough pretty boys for that to happen.
>Romance themed show: Okay
>Non-Romance themed show: Not Okay
When it starts
When you can't look a show up without seeing that shit.
I thought this was hell? Wrong door I guess.
>When does shipping ruin a show?
When it affects the show's writing. A fanbase can be as cancerous as it wants, as long as the creators have the sense not to be influenced by it.
