I just finished pic related. It is the third official comic I've ever ready. Previously I have read Judge Dredd America and Batman/Judge Dredd: Judgment on Gotham an thoroughly enjoyed them both.

I didn't think I'd ever be able to enjoy comics but America and Kingdom Come has changed my mind completely.

I'll be dropping about $150 on Book Depository to get a whole bunch of graphic novels. These are the books I have in my basket;

Marvels: Busiek / Ross
Kingdom Come: Waid / Ross
Justice League Dini / Ross
Judge Dredd: The Dark Judges
Judge Dredd : Under Siege
Judge Dredd: America
Judge Dredd: Mechanismo

Are these a good starting point for a noob?

Kingdom Come fucking sucks, my man.

Can you recommend me something then? The artwork is what sold me for Kingdom Come

Anything marvel from 1961 to 1989

It's weird that Alex Ross is unwilling to draw any Supero Heroes that was created after the '60s since he co-created Black Lightning's daughter Lightning in Kingdome Come.

If ya enjoy Alex Ross art give a look into the Absolute of Justice League The World's Greatest Heroes.
Still can be found online for $50 and collects a bunch of books him and Paul Dini did.
Closer to a children's book style than a comics style for text narration over images but they're great entry level stories with lots of beautiful moments and art.

I actually forgot to put this in with the shit I'm buying. Essentially I'm buying most of Alex Ross's shit just because the art is so nice.

It really doesn't but I get that that's the "cool" thing to say now, congrats you fit in!

I'm sure there are exceptions if you look hard enough. I know he did art for a couple of Hellraiser stories and that's definitely after the 60s.

Marvels is a lot better.
