Big Mood.

Has there ever been a legitimately amusing/funny Heathcliff strip?

Like really. In all those thousands he made, surely a broken clock is at least right twice a day right?

If you don't find them funny, you're taking life too seriously. Are you one of those people who hates weed because you're autistic?

It gives me sensitive chuckles. Which i consider successfull for comic strips.

Good thread.

I don't even get most of them. Am I missing some kind of cultural thing that I just don't get? Or are you just supposed to project a joke unto the drawings?

Cum fight

what the fuck are these even supposed to mean. I kinda get the terrible punchline of the others, but these seem like surrealist masterpieces instead of comic strips.

Heathcliff is both a comic strip and a surrealist masterpiece. It's that great.

Looks like a Venn diagram.

Has he ever reoccurred before this though

No. The people who say they enjoy Heathcliff comics are just trolling or are genuinely on a level of 2 digit IQ as the creator of Heathcliff comics himself.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out what the intended joke is supposed to be. It's just not funny.

Heathcliff is an acquired taste.

This should help.

Heathcliff peaked with the Garbage Walker desu, how can anything come close?

>robot
r2d2 is a droid, you RETARD!!!!

There's a difference?
I'm more weirded out by OP wording it as "robots and the Tin Man"; it sounds a lot like the "my friends and Zoidberg" gag. But now that I think about it, I'm not sure if the Tin Man can be classified as a robot or not.

The original creator stopped years ago and his son(?) took over and made it surreal

Leave Yea Forums forever.

*nephew

He's man-made and at least mechanical enough that he required lubrication to function.
Seems like a robot to me.

FYI, Kitty Korners are faked by the cartoonist. He just makes shit up and pretends that people send them in.

You can tell because if you look through the archives, the very first Kitty Korner appears on the very first weekend strip. Which means that someone supposedly sent in a Kitty Korner trivia before the establishment of Heathcliff comics itself, which is highly improbable unless it was faked.

Or you know, he asked a relative if they had any funny stories.

Yes, he made this submission portal to further his ruse.

requesting "that's so memecore"

Keep in mind that a lot of Heathcliff jokes are self-referential, such that the longer you've been reading Heathcliff, the more of the jokes you'll "get." A large part of why people who are just seeing them for the first time don't get them is because these jokes operate like long games of telephone. Once upon a time there was a joke, and then a strip referenced that joke, and then a strip referenced the strip referencing the joke. It's fun to see how the original joke twists overtime into something completely unrelated.

>I don't like it, therefore anyone that does is lieing
Kindly fuck off. No one is forcing you to come into these threads.

The Garbage Ape? Yes, he's even included on the Heathcliff website's official cast of characters.

>before the establishment of Heathcliff comics itself
user, Heathcliff comics started in 1973. The archives only go back to 2002.

No one outside of contrarian central finds Heathcliff funny.

Ah, I see Busiek is a true connoisseur

Most of the world has a double-digit IQ, though.

The Tin Man is a cyborg at the end of The Wizard of Oz.

Wow, really throwing it down with the kids is he not?

Kurt Busiek, one of the all-time greatest cape comic writers, loves Heathcliff unironically. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean no one does. That's some grade-school tier immaturity right there.
