Finally decided to get into the new-ish Voltron series. About done with the first season and I gotta say that I am pleasantly surprised that this hasn't been a shit heap like Korra despite being made by the same guys. Its actually really good so far. I actually dig the jokes and like the characters. Only thing that i have to come to grips with is Pidge's voice. Its just way to man-ish especially in flash backs with her long hair and wearing dresses, but thats just superfluous griping.

I've been in the fandom. I tortured myself by reading into the fandom wars that I deleted my social media for a few months to recover. All I wanted was to see fanart, and expecting the show to be a classic. It's great you won't know how mentally exhausting it was. When vld was being dragged for it's LGBT rep, Two staff members of she-ra retweeted really hateful comments about LM & JDS as well as liked tweets that called harm on them.
One of them tweeted that "shallies" should stay away from she-ra. The pairing Shiro x Keith was outed as pedophilic and "fujo ship". This woman had a Lotor x lance NSFW account.
She received a warning from the DW higher ups for shitting on vld writers and calling people pedos over anime boys kissing on twitter.
There's alot more stories I've heard since the show released, another petty one being klancetards shipping catradora hardcore just to prove they aren't fujoshis.
We'll just have to wait till s3 she-ra releases and the shit wars will begin.

It starts off good, gets weak in the third and fourth seasons, then gets better again for five, six, and seven. Eight was pretty weak though. I don't hate it as much as a lot of people seem to do though. It was a pretty fun show overall.
