I'm still hoping for this one day

Why? We've already got a more or less perfect adaption.

I mean...

Kind of got "meh" in the middle while they were with the ironic mall cult and the stuff about the pet bird, but the beginning and the end were both more than strong enough to make up for it.

Good times.

The cholito books would be the peruvian Gravity Falls and you fucking know it.

I feel like the setting would be done better if it were animated.

This was pretty good

I kinda wish there was a 4th season for the days of the Proto-Abbey. The first season seems to imply that in the show canon the Abbey already existed in some form when Martin arrived

>perfect
The movie had better casting, the show had better writing.

GIVE IT TO ME

Was season three any good? I stopped watching when a lady jumped out a plane, glided, fell, and then revealed she was pregnant. If you are trying to get me to like your characters having the pregnant women do things that will kill the baby isn't it

nice fucking quality retard

>The movie had better casting
Only Carrey and maybe Monty/Josephine. The main kids were fucking awful.

Am I the only one that felt like they could have done a much better job with the episodes that covered final few books? Especially the last one, it felt like they rushed through a lot of stuff.

When I was a kid I always wanted it to be animated, but I'd be cool with live action now that CG's so good these days.

Attached: 633270.jpg (256x400, 82K)

Eragon was a travesty but honestly the source material isn't much better. Issue with the movie was trying to improve an overly-referential plot (written by a literal 13 year old and using every concept you'd expect a 13 year old to put in a story) and winding up with complete shit AND still having the balls to suggest there could be more in the future instead of cutting your losses and just ending it.

The Edge Chronicles

Seeing the Sky Ships and Sky Pirates in motion in Chris Riddels art style would be fantastic. I think it'd work best as a series as opposed to movies.

Attached: Twigss.png (823x653, 279K)

Don't try updating them but keep the original mindset.

Attached: LuckyStarr.jpg (255x390, 26K)

redpill me on this series

Based and Skyhackal pilled.
Also, the Bartimaus trilogy.

HBO just doesn't do it justice

Attached: 1200x630bb[1].jpg (681x630, 117K)

Obvious answer.

(Are film adaptation rights separate from TV ones? If so, we might still have a chance with it having a miniseries - y'know, emulating W.I.T.C.H's model as a Disney associated production.)

Attached: artemis-fowl-top-10-characters-660x330.jpg (660x330, 48K)

It's already basically just written anime, so I don't think any other medium could do it justice.

The idea of Shallon's multiple personalities being expressed via animation just makes me rock fucking hard

Attached: b8tp-square-1536.jpg (1536x1536, 221K)

It was cheesy as hell. I want a scary murderous count and loads of atmosphere, damn it.

It’s got its flaws for sure, I can spend hours ranting about how much it rips off

But I still have a weirdly high enjoyment from it every time and I’ll honestly argue Brisingr is actually good

Attached: 91RQ5d-eIqL.jpg (1546x2289, 962K)

Edge Chronicles has a world that has a lot of potential for animation, but I don't know if its style would be 'trendy' enough to justify spending a lot of money on it in modern day. Maybe they could change the human character designs a bit to be more trend friendly but keep the weird environment and creature designs the same.

Attached: prop3-4.png (179x592, 197K)

This.

The Percy Jackson series and the spinoffs like Kane Chronicles and Magnus Chase definitely deserve animated shows

>maybe Josephine
It was fucking Meryl Streep

Bartimaeus trilogy still stands out to me even today for having a MC who's a bit of a piece of shit until he gets himself together. I think it'd be nice to see an animated project attempt handling a character like that

Off topic, but seeing this image brought back some memories.

See, in elementary school, I was shy and didn't do or say much, and my mom worked most of the time. So when summer came, she signed me up for summer school so she wouldn't have to get a babysitter. There was this teacher who I got along with very well, even though she didn't teach any of my classes during the regular school year.

My birthday came up and my mom had to work that day and I had to go to school. We didn't do anything special in the class, but at least people said happy birthday. This teacher, fucking bless her, actually gave me a book. It was Eragon. She said that she knew I loved to read fantasy, and this was one she thought I would like.

I didn't get to read it during class, but when I got home, i opened the book and she had written a note on the title page. I cant remember the note verbatim, but it went something like this:

user, when I saw this book, the first thing I thought of was of you. It's a long fantasy book, but I know you'll love it. The writer of this book is 15 years old! Can you believe it?? user, I know you'll accomplish great things and I hope one day you'll write a book of your own.
Love, Teacher

I had that book for so many years, up until I moved into my grandpa's old house. I had it on a desk, and I dont know why, but my mother took out everything in my room while I was on a trip, placed it outside and didn't put it back. It...rained that week. Completely poured down buckets. When I got home...i see it...soaked and almost disintegrated. The page with the note was nothing but watered down ink and pages were stuck together and ripping apart.

I had to throw it away because nothing could be salvaged. My heart broke that day.

Again, sorry for the off topicness...

I feel it would work best in claymation, Slaughterhouse Five as well.

Eternally salty that we'll never see a LAIKA adaptation of a Roald Dahl book.

YES! I would love an animated ASOUE. It would be so perfect

"Bad Puns and Fetish Bait" the series

I'm so sorry to hear about that, user...I hope that doesn't really falter your spirit, and you'll eventually get to prove how right she was about you.

That book a bunch of Kino setpieces.

Get the fuck out of here.

We're all on the feelsbus fellas
The hardest part about writing is sitting down and doing it
I'd recommend checking out Chris Fox on youtube his tips have helped me actually get my shit together this year and I finished a 30k length volume in my book series
In the process of editing it now
You can do it anons you just gotta start

>be imaginative kid
>live in middle of nowhere
>no cable
>dad tells me stories all the time
>write my own "books" that are just doodles and scribble stapled together
>always writing at home and at school
>genuinely enjoy creating
>lots of bad shit happens to me around age ten, mom gets a boyfriend who punches me in the face for liking a certain show on kidswb he perceived as satanic
>dad's alcoholism catches up with him
>stepdad always beating me and emotionally torturing me
>makes me sit in front of a blank wall for hours on end daily when I'm not being treated as a maid
>disassociate from reality, imagination increases
>always imagining life going on adventures with my favorite characters
>go from state custody to home to home when school finds out
>get into fanfic writing as a teen
>husbando and waifufag really hard
>always writing something
>have shit self-esteem for a while
>people always commenting nice things and giving me kudos on ao3
>start asking about paying me to write stuff for them
>okay.jpg
>cash.exe
>fall into a fandom/argument sink for a while since my tumblr got so many followers
>realize how stupid it all is
>delete tumblr and social media and don't participate in fandom
>stop falling in love with fictional character
>takes about a year but get my shit together
>now focusing on my writing career with my original content
>remind myself that I can do this

thanks for reading

Nickelodeon movie was great. I couldn't get past the first season of the Netflix show because it was too silly.

yes

The adaptation was honestly too happy an ending, but since it's likely the best adaptation they'll ever make, I can't complain much. The show version should've killed off the henchmen like they did in the movies, but since the show made the last 4 books make sense, it's alright, plus Olaf was amazing.

The biggest flaw was that Count Olaf was too goofy.

However, the show actually explained all of the hints, foreshadowing and implications that the books never did which is a major improvement.

Animorphs

Secrets of Droon

Last Apprentice/Wardstone Chronicles(the Seventh Son movie was garbage)

Goosebumps, Fear Street, Graveyard School

Its not fair bro

Still a major improvement from how he was in the movie, with his fucking raptor impression.

>On 20 October 2016, Victoria Holmes announced that Alibaba Pictures had bought the production rights for a film adaptation with David Heyman as producer. On 14 May 2018 it was announced that STX Entertainment had come on board to co-produce the film, with STX board member Gigi Pritzker working alongside Heyman. It was also announced that screenwriters Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger would write the screenplay for the movie. No director or release date has yet been announced for the film.

Since this, nothing new has been shared. Or, at least, it hasn't come my way. Also, turns out there's a subreddit that shares EPUBs and PDFs of the books, if you're into that.

Holy shit, I haven't thought about Droon in years. But yeah, it would make an amazing show, especially if they keep the character development and world-building lore that the books had.

But I’m scared user.

What if it turns out to be shit?

>tfw you get a crush on an actress who's not even 16 yet
Ladies and gentlemen, they got me.

Oh, it'll probably be shit.
But at least we can say that it happened.

Unless it ends up being so awful that we take the ATLA approach and pretend it never happened.

You can't do Droon well without lore or character development. The story started out as kids visiting a fantasy world in their basement and evolved into alternate dimensions, time travel and cosmic horrors without jumping the shark.

I would have preferred a miniseries. Something along the lines of one episode per book. I know it wouldn’t happen. I just know the movie will probably be shit and won’t do it justice.

Also link?

Wasn't it meant to get an animated series this year?

I'm just picturing the season one finale ending the way the first real plot arc in the books did, with Eric discovering that he has magical abilities. If done right, it would be such a good reveal that I'm surprised a show hasn't already been made for the purpose of that scene alone.

How old were you? Sounds like she wanted you to move out

I'd have liked a series of films, one movie per book. Maybe two books at most.

If you want the book links, the subreddit is r/thedawnpatrol.

Damn there alot of of my ideashave been suggested like Bartimeaus, Percy Jackson and the Monster blood tattoo series. I would love o see the monstrumologist though, I haven't read it in forever but i remember it being one of the few horror books i enjoyed.

Attached: 220px-The_Monstrumologist.jpg (220x331, 19K)

What would be the point?
The HBO series is about as good as you're going to get for a series of that length, even if they're blowing the ending a bit. The production quality is high at least, and a cartoon doesn't really add anything that they can't do in live action.

Attached: 51rTYtdMGkL._SX310_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg (312x499, 40K)

The mini-series had 10/10 writing and acting, but had no budget.
The movie had cool visuals, but it fucked the story beyond repair.
We also have nothing based on books 3-6, or the 2nd season of the radio show.
