Not Yea Forums but Kid Icarus: Uprising's Hades is the only really comparable villain I can think of. Genuinely evil, unquestionably destructive, and his methods will leave you hating him as a person, but he also has the absolute funniest writing and best vocal performance in the game so you can't help but love him as a character.

It’s just a gag that he got bored without Jack to fight.

And he was nuanced as well. In some ways he was dead right about supers, but his motivations were immoral and his methods were worse still. A hypocrite with a good point.

S5 of samurai jack was a complete cluster fuck, but aku was by far the best part of it.

It's amazing how much of a nothing character Aku was in the last season, nothing they introduce for him goes anywhere and there's virtually no satisfying conclusion between him and Jack that takes into account their history and relationship.

I'm not gonna try and tell you that she made anyone shit their pants because Wander wasn't specifically geared for older audiences so that's a given, but if you cared about the show at all her song was pretty off-putting given the context. There's a lot of stuff that I think went towards making Dominator genuinely unnerving on occasion, but I like to think it was the general undertone she gave off from being a homicidal maniac that was only on screen when she was doing something that was suitable for airing. Of course, it's perfectly understandable to be put off by her massive autism.

Anyway, Aku wasn't menacing at all, he was a punk bitch and hid from Jack for fifty years.

I found Dominator had more moments that genuinely got a laugh out of me, but I agree that Aku is more entertaining.

Yeah, that's not really hard to pull off, it's just the fact that he could get his ass beat by Jack any day of the week that makes him a lot less threatening in the context of the show. Hell, the only time he ever got a leg up on him was in the graveyard The last episode of S5 too but let's not talk about that one. That's not to say Aku wasn't imposing enough, because he was, he was just never really a threat to the viewer and had to rely on underhanded tactics way too much.

That being said, he was genuinely menacing in the Birth of Evil special, too bad he got fucked up in that one too.

He's literally using the part of her that is an extension of his body and then manipulating Jack to either surrender or be forced to murder his girlfriend while he laugh manically.

That's why Aku is menacing, he's not just powerful but extremely cunning and sadistic,Jack was with his weakness and still lost. That's what several horror villains like Freddy Krueger,Pennywise and Chucky do, even if you figure their weakness they will quickly adapt.

This sounds like Aku wrote it, all he did was bitch out and let one of his minions do the dirty work. There's nothing commendable about this on his part, it's just more scumbag shit like usual. It's not menacing, it's pathetic.
